I should give details, I suppose. :)
Brakes are just about gone. Front brakes need to be replaced and work needs to be done on back brakes.
Headlights are out, rear taillight is out.
The engine light is on because of a vacuum seal break.
That all seems to come to $1840, per the dealer.
As for going somewhere else, I've been an exclusive Firestone person for some time and dealt with shoddy repairs. I can't take the pressure of comparison shopping. I only have one car and a limited amount of time. This time I took it to the dealer themselves. I'm pretty much forced to take what he says at face value. The Yelp reviews on the dealer are great, compared to any Firestone I was going to. Since they're giving me a warranty on the repairs, I figure I'd better go with it, even if I put myself into extra work.
Thanks for the suggestion, honest, but dealing with car repairs at all makes me terrified. I'm an artist, not a mechanic. As a result, I have to take my medicine.
