This is a very basic outline for role playing/role players. These are not official rules.
It's always a good idea to discuss rules and roles before rping with someone, especially if you're new to rping or rping with someone you hardly know. It saves time and confusion.
Not everyone may agree with us, and that's fine. Be sure to discuss everything before roleplaying so there's no confusion or arguments.
✔️ Establish Boundaries: If the person you're rping with is uncomfortable, or you yourself are uncomfortable, stop rping and talk it out. It will be better in the long-run to discuss any issues/concerns you may have.
✔️ Establish POV/Roles/Setting/etc: It can get confusing pretty quick if neither party knows what they're doing! Generic Name might be in the forest while Another Generic Name is at a casino.
✔️ Discuss SFW/SFW-NSFW/NSFW Beforehand: Generic Name might be wanting to get frisky later on, but Another Generic Name might not be interested in that.
✖️ Metagaming: In short, you know something about X, but your character doesn't.
Ex. Person A knows their character, Generic Name, is about to drink something poisonous. Generic Name doesn't know their drink is poisonous, drinks it, and dies.
✖️ "God-Mode": Don't try to control another user's character or try to DM. There's a major difference between "Generic Name smirked at Another Generic Name, hoping for a reaction," and "Generic Name smirked at Another Generic Name, who glared back."
✖️ Harass Another User to Cater to You: If you are harassing another user to cater to your wants, you need to step back. The other person may not be entirely comfortable with what you are wanting and you may need to find another user who is okay with it.
If another user is harassing you to cater to their wants, you need to step back and tell them "You are making me uncomfortable. I don't want to do ____". If they persist, you may need to block them.
