We do still need some help, but we are happy to say that even though we set the goal high and have reached 1/3 of the Gofundme goal, that with some other help in conjunction with the donations over Gofundme we have nearly reached being able to pay for the surgery!
We will be keeping the Gofundme up, and will still be trying to gather some more donations for basically all of the bills we need to neglect over the next couple of months as well as some other costs that I will describe below.
We also have a couple of folks willing to throw in some cool incentives, which I will outline below! Basically if you do anything from retweet to donate you can get some incentive!If you weren't aware, here is a summary of our situationBasically @AussieXS, my fiancee, needs surgery. It's not life threatening (as in an immediate emergency, and why our specific situation with insurance and coverage is convoluted) but it is varying levels of painful and will potentially continue to worsen over time if she does not receive surgery. I'll make clear here as well that due to the personal nature of the surgery Aussie has asked me not to be specific, and I believe that because this is her hardship that it is very important I (and you, too) respect her wishes for privacy about what kind of surgery she's getting.
We had scheduled this surgery 3 months ago, and have had as much time to attempt coordinating with her surgeon and with her insurance company about payment, and have been otherwise reassured that her insurance company would cover the cost of the surgery. On about Wednesday April 6th we were told that insurance would not cover the cost of her $24,000 surgery outright, and that we would have to pay the entire cost upfront by April 20th to be reimbursed. In order to prevent having to re-do the entirety of our process to reschedule the surgery if we miss our deadline to pay for the surgery, wait for a new surgery date and have Aussie in pain for longer and STILL have to pay the cost of the surgery outright, we opted to ask for help.IF YOU DONATE, YOU CAN GET SOME COOL INCENTIVES

Aussie's Surgeon actually clarified that the bill due on April 20th will actually be something like $12,000 , and that the total bill (so including what I just said was the cost for the surgeon alone) would be $21,900 or so. We are expected to pay the hospital for their facilities, anesthesiologist, and a variety of other things up to a week before the surgery (so the remainder, about $10,000). That both gives us a little less to pay and a tiny bit more time to get some help!
Because our window opens up, we have been able to acquire some additional funds for the bills due just a little later, but more importantly with everyone's help here, over twitter and facebook and other social media, we have managed to almost entirely fund the cost of the surgery. We went from having 8K to both of our finances to having another $5,500 from you guys in the Gofundme, and the remainder being made up by a loan and my (vallhund's) last commission opening. We are still short the total cost, but not by MUCH anymore, and we have a bit more time to get there! THANK YOU ALL SO MUCH.
I like to be transparent about the seriousness of my situation, but I would like to put the next 1/3 of the year into context for those of you that are still curious as to why the Gofundme is still up.
Aussie is scheduled for Surgery in mid-May, and her recovery time should be in the least almost 2 months. Because her job is physical (lifting and a lot of movement required) we want to make sure she is absolutely healthy before returning to work. Her boss is AWESOME about reassuring us that she's okay for that amount of time off, he would much rather a healthy employee that has to take some time off than a someone in pain.
Aussie is also required to be in another state for her surgery, and to have someone with her for her stay out of state. I would 100% love to be there, but my situation at the moment locks me being in Canada until I receive a new passport, which I am anxious might not be enough time. This means we have to pay for both her travel and a friend, their expenses, and travel back home once she has healed just enough to travel.
I (Vallhund) also have a surgery coming up, and will not be taking a regular amount of work for a full month to recover. Whether or not I get bored and take commissions anyways is subject to how I'm feeling afterward.
Between the time me and Aussie have to take off of work we are at a loss financially in the first place, something I intended to fix by having plenty in our savings account for our monthly bills and the costs we foresaw earlier. However, because Insurance might take their sweet time reimbursing us, we aren't sure that we will have the funds to tuck back into our savings to do the things we need to do until this is all over.
I will of course be working until my own surgery comes up, which puts something back into the pool, but we are still at a loss. 
It'll be okay! We already have a ton of support from you guys and we're going to be okay! Thank you for what you've done for us already.
