Laptop Question

General
In the latter future, it would seem to be inevitable that my laptop, a HP Pavilion, will crap out sometime...
*knocks on wood*
But I'm just wondering...
Suggestions and Criticism would seem appropriate.
Thanks. Sb
EDIT: Sorry, I forgot about the other aspects of what I want to do with the computer.
It should be able to help me with: Editing, Art, and Designing and Illustrations and such...
It should be lightweight, and really really good battery life. Less Recharging is a must, if at all.
Wireless computers, and plenty of USB cables.
A SD card reader. Also SD Micro.
Webcam. I dunno why, but good for such.
Lightweight.

always
And some Writing. I do like writing
They process the data 'better' and more smoothly
And if you miss your windows programs, mac has nice feature that allows you to run an installation windows
Thing is, a mac is many times more expensive than a PC
This coming from someone who has always used a PC, Mac will take some getting used to, only having one clicker and all (you can put a 2+button mouse on it and it works wonders)
I know Macs are good for art and music and stuff, but will crap out on most everything else
PC will do art and music stuff well if you have the programs, and you'll be able to do all the other stuff a Mac doesn't do well, like GAMES
you can do Games on a Mac, but its a pain in the ass to set up.
plus Macs have a different layout, so if you've worked with PCs for a long time, a Mac will take alot to get used to
I don't do games. Never have, never will. They stay with my Wii and 360. :3 Thanks for the advice though.
And I've used some of the desk Macs before, and so far... it seems streamlined enough.
But thanks for the comments.
And yes, HP Pavillion laptops do have a bad habit of dying.
and don't say that. You're jinxing it. :[ *knocks on wood*
Granted, I didn't take very good care of it. <_<
Thanks for the advice. :3
