Leaving FA, Moving to FurryNetwork
First, the important stuff:
If anyone's glanced at my shouts within the past 3 days, they might have noticed that, between the outages and being locked out, I've been completely unable to access my account for almost 5 days now. I was only able to finally get get logged in, not thanks to the support staff, but because the hacker himself uploaded a master list of every user on the site's username and email address. Because of this, my personal disagreements with the way the site is run, and [what I fell are] the superior layouts of the sites mentioned above, I've decided it's finally time to pack up and move on. Hopefully I'll see most of you over there in time. If not, thank you so much for the support you've shown me throughout the years <3
Currently, the majority of my art from the past 2 years can be found on my FurryNetwork
https://furrynetwork.com/lugus
This is the site I'm going to be updating regularly from now on
In addition, I'll be trying to keep my Weasyl and Inkbunny updated as well, but it's going to take me a bit longer to get all my current stuff on there. They're fairly void at the moment, but keep an eye on them
Weasyl: https://www.weasyl.com/~lugus
Inkbunny: https://inkbunny.net/Lugus
I will continue to check in on my Furaffinity every few days, and I'll still be responding to notes and comments, but I'll no longer be posting any new artwork here

does this mean i should just post the rest of the commissions from you since you arent posting them here?
On top of that, this site's uploader is horribly out of date. I'm not going to waste my time uploading things here when I can upload them on any of the other sites in a fraction of a time.
I am flattered that you'll miss my presence here though. I hope that in time you'll decide to make an account over there :<
You're a fool if you think those other sites haven't been compromised. Most have. I long ago lost faith that any, any website on the Internet could be secure.
The creator of that site has actually acknowledged the furaffinity hack is currently working on getting all of the accounts added to that list.
It seems like you're blaming FA for your own mistakes, honestly.
My issue here was that I made my account almost 6 years ago, with an email I haven't touched since then. According to FA staff, though, I'm not alone. They've received upwards of five thousand emails from people with identical issues. Yes, it was my responsibility to remember it, and I'm not denying that, but their response to the situation is the part I'm upset about.
And again, I'm not doing this to -punish- anyone. Frankly, I like Weasyl and FN's interfaces much better, but haven't been willing to take the time to transfer all of my art. But now that it seems like there's a new influx of traffic to both, it seems like it'll be a little more worth my while. Again, I appreciate the patronage of all of my fans, and I hope you don't see this as anything personal.
This kind of thing happens constantly. To suggest you'd be any safer of any other site seems shortsighted. If those sites got more popular, they'd be hacked in short order as well. A Windows vs Mac thing, if you will.
*quickly googles own e-mail to make sure people reading my resume won't find my FA*
I mean I was already basically unemployable but fuck
My personal email is kept separate from my "professional" email, so it can't be traced back to me. Not only is it safer, but it looks MUCH more professional to a potential employer.
the issue is I didn't expect fur affinity to just give out their source code to any tom dick and larry that ask them to unhand it
Lots of artists dependent on comms for a living say this though, and they end up having to come back here after a while because none of the other sites are big enough to attract the attention this site does. Even Pulsar's had to come back, and his watcher count is nearly 10 times yours. I don't expect you to stay away forever, but maybe by the time you come back, the site will be a little better. Hard to believe, I know, but that's far more likely than most of the artists here being able to have sustainable incomes outside of FA. And you gotta be fair, there HAVE been some good changes lately, no matter how small or spaced out they've been. This latest hack wasn't 100% their fault either.
