Yep, it's about that time!!!
The Niles Historical & Cultural Center is having there SECOND ANNUAL MINI GODZILLA FEST!
(not to be confused with the International GFEST this weekend in Rosemont, which we will be there).
WE have lots of really great things happening in our NEWLY RECONDITIONED AIR CONDITIONED AUDITORIUM!!! A really cool place to be (literally: damn it's cold up there new!!)
So if you around August 6th (or would like to fursuit there??? Hint hint) please come! NO CHARGE for admission.
There are:
Raffles by Aw Yeah Comics (Gift Certificates)
Artwork from GFEST donations for Raffle!
THREE displays of Godzilla figurines (and if you have one to put on loan (and live in Chicagoland area), PM me and we'll display it under locked cases)
FREE FOOD, DRINKS, Godzilla comics (while these last)
Presentation talks to two very rabid Godzilla freaks (one being MuscleWolf! lol)
A GODZILLA MOVIE!!! With real theater popcorn!!
Trivia Quizzes
Slide Shows
And if you come with a Godzilla companion or Plushie, you get your picture taken!!!

Sweet, I'll be there.
I might even be able to pull of a little cosplay: Eric Adler dressed as Doctor Hu. (And keeping my Time Turner/Doctor Whooves messenger bag handy in case people don't get the reference right away, "Yes, I'm Doctor Hu, but not THAT Doctor Who.")
Oh wait, Doctor Hu was from King Kong Escapes, not one of the Godzilla movies.
Then again, King Kong Escapes WAS a Toho film, *AND* King Kong DID fight Godzilla in a different Toho film, so it's just two degrees of separation.
So, I'll leave it to you and Dingella. Does Doctor Hu count as part of the Godzilla mythology? (I noticed he's got an entry in Wikizilla, but the fest belongs to you guys so I'll let you two make the final judgement)

Heh, Godzilla vs. King Kong, more like King BONG, that ape spent the whole movie looking stoned out of his coconut.
I should be more sensitive to that, since my human surname is also hard to spell/pronounce: Dreasler ("DRAY-zler")
I guess I'm just a dinglehead tonight.
It'd be nice if there was month Lion meets... LOL
