Hopefully I can get as seat in a real commpnay rather then being freelance. Help cover the bills better. Sooner I get out of freelance the better.

I was working as a freelance animator for a small company. We did visual guides for Glaxo-Smith-Klein and Pfizer Corp. Pay was astounding! However, when they offered me a full time job the pay cut was so devastating that it was like a slap in the face.

Freelance can net a lot of mad profit ($25 to $40 an hour!) but it's not stable. I enjoyed it while I could, however. All too much.

That's what I mean. there are times when you are waiting months at a time for a job. Hence why I would rather take the pay cut and have stable work then have super good pay, but never know how long it will last.

Sides, I like doing aniamation, so it's not so much the money, tho that's important. ;)

as a graphic designer i charge $70 to $90 per hour. if it's really fast work (just a few hours) i'll charge $115. and i'm pretty cheap.

'course, i'm in sweden. our taxes are pretty high (but they pay our health insurance). still, $25 to $40 seems pretty low.

I'm not much for any of those activities sadly, if I were to go it'd be for the art and hanging out with friends. Given that it's new I don't know of any friends who are going or know about it, and it doesn't mention art sales and such... at least not as far as I was able to find. So it literally has nothing for me ><

It's also about getting together and having fun, playing games, drawing, etc. There is much, much to it than just fursuiting, dancing and drinking. Far, far much more.

Big problem is that I'm not an artist, and I'm somewhat intimidated by actually seeing or even paying them for pr0n at conventions. When I saw Richard Foley it was like "@_@ Eeee Moonstalker". So I can't trade art, nor am I outgoing enough to ask for stuff to be made on the spot -_- So all that really "works" for me is getting pre-packaged art and and chilling with friends.

I dunno. Unless something big changes I think I'll hold off this year. Listen to hear what the general consensus is about FA:United and consider going in '08 if it's positive enough. I already have a hard enough time explaining to my parental units why I disappear for a week in the middle of the summer c.c

Newark is that lil' city just below New York city. Which is kinda cool, 'cause people can go to FA: United... then swing up to Manhattan for some seriously awesome touristing. The museums up there, just gorgeous!
