~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ ようこそ❗️
First off, welcome to all the new students! I really hope we can work together, help motivate each other, and make this a fun fluffy experience.
For all those wanting shouts when assignments and class disscussion journals are posted, check at the bottom to make sure your icon is there. Also seats are still open until the 26th, so feel free to join in!
The main goal of this class will be to learn the two phonetic scripts, the main 46 sounds of Japanese, in both Hiragana and Katakana. Hiragana is used for Japanese words, while Katakana is mainly used for borrowed words and used to express soundsand or feelings. We will also learn basic introductions, expressing likes and dislikes, saying hello, writing our own names, and a good fist full of useful and fun words.
This course will last approximately 8 weeks. 4 weeks for working on Hiragana, then 4, weeks working on Katakana and basic survival Japanese. Don't worry I will add in some common phrases used in anime too
I will post journals on Fridays, with links on it to free downloable worksheets and sites. Some of these sites will require you to sign up to get the files. ( they are tried and true sites, I won't send you anywhere iffy) If that is not possible for you, I will also provide a link to the same document in my Dropbox account.
On Wednesdays I will post a discussion journal about what we have learned, and also a place for you to ask questions and interact with the other students (Let's keep it SFW in these journals please) .... Hopefully also getting a chance to use some of what you have learned.
In the discussion journals I will be asking four main questions.
1. How much of the assignment did you complete? (Don't worry if you couldn't complete all of it, or were too busy, just do your best next time. This is just supposed to help motivate)
2. What was something you found fun that you learned?
3. What was something useful?
4. What was the most difficult for you?
Further down the line, I will also ask you to write one sentence using the target language of that week.
If you ever have a question, please ask! I will do my best to explain! And if you need more examples or a better clarification, please tell me.
I really do want to see you all learn some Japanese
Once this class has ended, for those that want to continue, I will start teaching the first 100 Kanji, and basic Japanese enough to pass the first level, N5, of the official Japanese Language Proficiency Test.
Update. . . To just throw in some extra motivation, I will hold a raffle for active students once every week. I got too excited when I found these small tiny bilingual picture dictionaries at the Daiso. The Fluffy Sensei in me was like... Ooooo these would be great for all my new furry students! * floofing out super happily bouncing up and down* See them HERE
You win, I mail that and a little postcard to you from Japan! (If that's not possible for you, we'll work something else out.) At the end one more big raffle for a small box of Japanese goodies, OR a Japanese themed YCH.
Google translate told me this is thank you, so if it's wrong blame that lol
But teaching English isn't the best route to take for fluency >~<
I really hope later this year I can start really dedicating a good chunk of time to my studies again.
If you'd like a study buddy, let me know!
一緒に頑張りましょうね
and to be shouted when classes start!
Thank you mama!
こんばんわ。
MAMA! MAMA! Look! I typed out in romaji and this is what came out! Did baby do good? QuQ
Awwwwww yes you did do good! Very good!
こんにちは
こんばんは❤️
❤️❤️
But, There is a tricky little thing to those two, which I will teach you latter. the わ wa is actually written は ha here and The ん, which is like a double N sound. But I could read them Pefectly!!
And you did soooo good!
I'm a little show off... o//u//o
When you shared the link for setting up your computer for japanese, I got excited, now I'm going crazy.
Go crazy with it!
I made a dragon kanji mama!!
I love that kanji❤️
Now you can add them on layers and make Kanji adoptable ;)
I think that means "My wrath is only japanese." O//w//O *baps self* LOL!
日本語が大好き! (I love Japanese)
私のフワフワ子猫ちゃんが大好きだよ
*gets out a booster seat for her youngest student and gently places you in it*
How's that??
for those who actually read comments and are wondering... HumanJapanese is a google play app for your phone (not sure if it's anywhere else) that a friend of mine suggested I check out a while back. it's a pretty good little program ^_^ but I usually learn better from actual people that I can interact with XD
I do really enjoy teaching, though this is my first time doing something like this. So all ears for suggestions!
And I do need to mention you, insidious, for inspiring me to get this all going! Gonna put it in my featured journal. ❤️
I have a slight addiction to buying things Japanese learning related * blushes brighter purple thinking of her hoard of books*
BTW, this made me think of a funny story.
Once saw a white guy at a night club who had a kanji tattoo on his neck. I asked a native Japanese speaker what it meant and they said "Nothing, it doesn't make sense."
So I started a conversation with Mr. Tattoo and asked him about it. He said he used kanji for the SOUNDS to spell out his child's name. So, instead of using katakana, which would have been the appropriate method for foreign words, he put some nonsense on his neck.
*giggles* People can be so foolish!
And just picking out names for little ones. Oh my gosh! Stroke numbers, plus lucky or not, which can be different for each birth year, and then the sound, which can be lucky or not, plus the actually meaning of the kanji
Btw, I sometimes write my name as: 紅紗 which pretty much means crimson silk. Granted it's supposed to be ベニシャ... But the other one is sooooo much more fun and pretty. My hubby wasn't too thrilled with it... Said it sounds like I belong to the Yakuza
And yes Kanji is EVIL!!! kunyomi, onyomi, irregulars, which radical do I search by? Is that one strokes or two?? !(◎_◎;) then it temps me again with its prettiness, and the fact that one of these days I really would like not to be illiterate.
And I am glad you like the prize ideas. :) I hope that you get one!
