EMERGENCY COMMISSIONS OPEN! HELP!
Long story short: My Stepdad got super dizzy and fell over, needed an MRI, and has been diagnosed with MS and was in the hospital overnight. Mom is with him. I don't know when they're coming home. We barely had enough money to buy groceries this month, I have no idea where the money for this is going to come from.
On top of that, Dad is the only one who makes a stable income in my house-- the rest of us are too young/immune-compromised/autistic and anxiety-ridden to hold a job, really. Commissions are my only source of income at the moment. My queue has just about dried up, and although I emailed FA for an ad slot to fix that, I haven't heard back yet. It will probably take a while before I do; they say 2-3 business days but it usually takes around half a month. I feel useless and I don't know what to do :C
My prices and Terms of Service are HERE: http://www.furaffinity.net/commissions/pogostix/
Even if you can't afford a commission, a signal boost would be greatly, greatly appreciated! Thank you!

Also, "Too.. Autistic and anxiety-ridden to hold a job." That's bull. The Trade school I'm at works with people with disabilities like Autism, Severe Anxiety, Tourette's, non-verbal, deaf, physical handicaps, etc. Autism is not an invisible wall preventing you from getting a job. It's a wall that can be climbed over. If you want me to send you some brochures about it, I can! This place is wonderful.
So yes. I've had my IQ tested and it's above average. But my autism/anxiety combo is disabling, at least in that way... I'm still trying to come to terms with it... kinda hurts...
I go to college on a daily basis. I don't have a job because I don't have time to work on the weekdays and no one really hires a Weekend only person. Many times I've been told "Oh, I work full time and went/go to college. You should be able to do the same."
Or, "X has worked for this long while they were in college."
Its sort of the same deal here. It's kinda rude to think that just because someone has a similar disability means that they can jump over hurdles to get better. Yes, I agree, there needs to be steps taken to achieve autonomy, but some people have to take smaller steps towards that goal.
ALSO! I don't have a disability. Does that mean I know about what autism feels like? No! Do I have an idea what autism is like from my friends? Probably! Does that mean I should go around and compare people I know to others with the same disability? Probably not. I mean, really, you're not helping anyone else by saying some person or people you know are doing better than someone else. Like, think about someone who has a limb missing. You wouldn't point to heir leg or arm and say "I know someone who doesn't have an arm and they're doing better. Get your shit together".
You're not motivating anyone. You're making the person feel like shit
You want to help a person? Put money to their cause! Give them support! Hell, share a funny story you think will cheer them up! But don't assume that all disabilities have the same "fix" It's like telling an anxious person "Just stop thinking about it".
I know I'm probably gonna get flack for this but I don't really want to see my best friend get lectured by other people about her own disability. No one should feel ashamed about being honest about their disability.
