Well those who always wanted to get their hands dirty in rendering without paying a hefty price, not to mention using a program thats simular to what I use. Daz has released DazStudio 3. I suggest you Download the manual first so you can see if this is what you want to try. You can get your FREE copy of DazStudio3 at

Still something to play with in me idle time.
I do most of my rendering in it. (I'm still using the 2.x version, waiting for some bug fixes before jumping to 3.x)
You also need a real modeler like Blender. Blender and Daz only get along 'so so' their scales or very different and the way blender uses grouping is different than Daz which can limit the number of materials you can assign. (Blender has several different types of 'groups' and the type that Daz agrees is 'material groups' seems to limited to 16 materials in Blender)
The other one, though it has gone pay, is Moment of Inspiration 3D. It's an excellent program, but the $200 or so price tag is a mite steep for a) a small program and b) something with limited output methods. However, it is HIGHLY intuitive and very easy to learn, and fun as hell to play with. ^_^
With best wishes and hugs, plus an intense look forward to whatever your next work will be,

Probably more can be found with the right search terms. Personally, I prefer blender, probably because I was able to start modeling stuff BEFORE the obligatory RTFM.
Let's see how fun this is...
