Personally I've found season 3 to be disappointing overall. They've had one-sided fights before, but season 3 has had very few fights that felt even in any fashion (even during the analysis portion). This wouldn't be an issue if they made the fights entertaining, but a lot of these amounted to "Winner only puts up a token resistance, loser whips out all their best attacks, winner goes BORED NOW and instantly wins". Again, would be fine if they did that once or twice, but that's basically most of this season in a nutshell, which makes it hard to stay enthusiastic.

That applies to this fight, as well: Pinkie Pie's 4th wall breaking powers are primarily fandom memes and not canon, so unless they go with the joke ending like with Chuck and Segata, it's probably going to end up like those again.

Im fine with one sided fights. The dont really looking for equal fighters. They usually look for characters who are similar in some ways. And just because two are similar doesnt mean they are equal in powers and skills. Thou I agree they can always add more to that animations and tension.

Like I said, I can get that fights are sometimes rather one-sided. That's just how it goes, especially since different franchises work on different scales of power. My problem is: the animations are just for dramatic effect, and arguably, the biggest draw to the series as a whole. As such, when the fights depict nothing but curbstomps over and over for several episodes straight, they start to lose their entertainment value.

They have shown that they can change fight opponents to create a more interesting fight (they changed Kirby's opponent from Ditto to Majin Buu because Buu is both more interesting, and closer to Kirby in power), so the fact Season 3 has been suffering from so many fights where one side stands no chance seems like a missed opportunity. Granted, that could itself have just been an extreme exception, but if that's the case, why not at least vary up the animations a little? They already made it clear they decide the winner first and make the animation based around that, so I don't think it'd hurt anything if they embellished the fight a bit to avoid making them repetitive. Again, a curbstomp in and of itself is fine, and something to expect now and then, but when that's ALL we're getting it feels like they aren't really living up to their potential.

And for the record, I won't say Season 3 has been entirely awful. For example, Dante vs Bayonetta is one of my favorite fights they've done period (and I was rooting for Bayonetta in that one), and Joker vs Needles was also a really nice battle. It's just a shame those are the exception rather than the rule.

Yeah! The Dante fight was what I was looking forward since the beginning and I loved it.
