FAQ on Freebies and Stuff
Hi there! I figured I'd just run down a few general questions I figure people ask themselves about artists and freebies sometimes. If you think of some, send them to me and I'll add them.
Q: Do you REALLY randomize?
A: Yes. I use dice rolls or random.org. I would post the results, but in honesty... anyone can fudge those. An artist could just keep rolling until they get a preferred result. The only time I reroll is if someone already won, doesn't have a proper reference, (see below,) or just plain isn't following the rules. Otherwise, I take whatever roll I get. You're just gonna have to trust me on this one. Everyone has a chance to win, (and I mean everyone... who follows the rules of entry.)
Q: Can I use characters that aren't mine?
A: When I get linked a character that isn't owned by the one linking it, I usually check to see if they have a connection to the owner somehow. If they do, I have no problem. If they don't, I'll usually feel weird about it and ask the other person if they know the entrant.
Q: Can I post my winning art on my own user page?
A: I encourage it! Any owner of a character featured in my free art may repost it at their leisure. Please do, but please also link back to either my post, or my own user page.
Q: Can I enter my feral/pony/little?
A: You could enter a diaper wearing demon-blooded taur for all I care. These sketches help me improve and try new things, and it helps us both out, (because I'm sure it's harder for you to get art when you have something many artists don't like to draw.)
Q: You say you'll do just about any suggestion. What WON'T you do?
A: Oh, well... I've done gore and hard vore, tentacles, etc. Only thing that I'm not really comfortable in is sexualized diapers or bodily waste.
Q: Can I get my free sketch inked and shaded?
A: Yes, for a small fee, I can increase the resolution to 300ppi, (from 72ppi,) ink, and properly shade your image. Fee depends on image complexity. (Edits can also be made, no problem.)
Q: Can I enter another raffle if I've already won before?
A: Yes. You can enter over and over and over again! With the changing themes, I couldn't give two shakes of a rodent's tail how many times a single person wins. It's all universal random luck.
Q: Can I make alterations to my picture?
A: I don't care, long as you accredit me as the original artist.
Q: What if I come up with a new request mid-week that's more awesome than my first?
A: Just reply to your own comment with the new request. I'll use the new one as your request if I roll your number.
Q: What is an acceptable reference?
A: An acceptable reference is a linked post that accurately describes your character. For most people this is an image, (like this or this.) However, it can also be a written description post/journal. I will read them, I will draw off of them. You must keep in mind, however, that anything in your description that is missing, (like if you want your character naked, but your ref has them wearing clothes,) I will take artistic design and make it up as I go. If your reference is unacceptable (like your link is broken, or it's missing almost all the information of your character,) I won't tell you. More likely, I will just re-roll the number and move on. Remember, these are free sketches... if you don't make sure your link works for me, then I'm not going to research all over your page to find the info.
