Not sure but more then likely..... no

How would the galaxy react

Uncertain but they will remember him for his bravery, compassion and use his logs/battle reports as an example in Command Academy to teach the next generation of commanders

But what about the other races of the Milky Way galaxy

Those who met him will memorialize him for defending their people and perhaps have his name be used to name their children

And the crews families?

What will the public memorial service would look like

Like every Military Memorial, a priest (of some sort) in matters of the spirit, a lot of soldiers, officers and service men and women attending the memorial along with his friend and those who were under his command.

After the Priest's speech on his Faith and praying for his soul everyone will have a moment of silence then Space Planes will be fly over head

I've been to my Grandfathers Memorial Funeral, he was in the Air Force which is how I'm able to extrapolate a possible Funeral in the Fleet and the scenario above is a close representation of giving Fleet Officers who serve in the Fleet will more then likely have the same funeral like Commander Shepherd, while the Soldiers on the ground will have a complement of soldiers in a line firing fake ammo in the air as the Soldiers are put to rest and respected

What will happen after the funeral for commander shepard

A party of some sort and getting together one last time, sharing stories, have a few drinks and a lunch or dinner feast in respect for Shepherd.

Afterwards they depart for rest maybe a vacation and after that, they are given new assignments by their respective military superiors

What would commander shepard's tombstone would look like

More then likely he will have a personal tomb stone in a military graveyard and his name will be on a large slab of rock with all the names of soldiers and officers who died in the Reaper War

What about the casket if they did find the body

The casket will be made of wood with brass handles on all sides

Probably flowers associated with life, death, rebirth and everlasting joy
