That's fucked up, sorry you're dealing with it. Did you get served with a 3 or 7 day notice to vacate? Unless it's signed/stamped by a Sheriff's Deputy, it is not an actual eviction notice that's enforcable. If you guys need time you can fight it on average 3-4 months!

Unfortunately it was a house we were living in that was owned by my step fathers-father who didn't pay taxes and we were fighting to get ownership but we lost it. The house is going up for auction on the fifth.

Not sure what a 3 or a 7 is, I just know the basic facts.

Even going up for auction, they have to have a sheriff legally serve an eviction notice to you before you HAVE to move out. If you guys need time, consult a local lawyer.
