So basically, in the 30th. I turn on my lights in my journal, whomever tells me trick or treat, i draw their character? Or what? Or could it be anything?

Yes, on the 30th, turn your lights on, wait for people to comment, and they you doodle them! Though, i highly suggest setting a limit to the treats you're willing to give!

This is a really tempting idea for Halloween. And I do have a stream on the night of the 31st that I was uncertain if I would actually stream or do anything. Might be fun to do this as a part of that.

If nothing else, I will be making a journal about this myself and linking back to yours. It is a nice idea and should be spread around <3

I assume it's to give people some time to comment, as well as the artist to draw, and then it lasts through at least part of Halloween!

The only thing I can think of it maybe do it from say the 27th? And pictures can still get posted on the 31st but some of us are scheduled to work the 30th and 31st so we wouldn't be able to do it. :(

Or also might consider asking people to limit how many houses they hit?

I'm just already seeing someone commenting on everyone's journal within the candy limit of that person and getting.. 10+ pieces of art while others get none because all the slots were full.

But maybe I'm just being paranoid. Like you said, people can set their criteria how they want and some might do it on liking the OC or something.

I understand your concerns, but It would be a bit difficult/tedious for people to have to check every participant's journal to make sure this person hasn't gone over a limit, etc.
While a limit could be set, there's no guarantee that the trick or treater will follow it :x
One must also remember that some trick or treaters might only choose certain houses as well!

About your other comment (which I'm so sorry i didn't get around to replying to) This is my first year doing this, and, depending on if it takes off, I might consider extending the trick or treat time, but for now I'm going to keep it to the 30th (Oct is also an extremely busy month for me, so I had to plan accordingly)

True. Although I imagine it's what each person is willing to do since I plan to do that for my trick or treaters incase someone only manage to get within the deadline of like 2 people while someone else managed to comment on all of them or something. It also happens when I sleep when most people are awake so I already imagine I won't manage to hit a good chunk of the houses before they 'run out of candy'
And that's true. I guess that would just rely on the honor system, which is faulty as best.
Hopefully people will just pace themselves. ^-^

And awesome. Just something to consider just to give people more time to draw. Because I know I'll still do it but they'll be getting sketches / colored with pencils drawings for the 31st (I work both days) and I'll probably do better/touch it up afterwards.

Yes it'd be good to post a reminder, and I will post a reminder on the 29th to remember to turn on your lights. As long as its done on the 30th, it doesnt really matter the time, since people live in different time zones~
