Crowdfunded comics: yay or nay?

Bassy here! So here's a thought I've been toying with for a long while now: NSFW comics on my FA and tumblr. And I don't mean quick and brief works like "Bearely Famous". I mean something a little more ambitious, like a 15-page long story with a plot behind it. I've been itching to work in one for a long time. I have plenty of ideas, many of them based on games, cartoons and etc., all of them which I think would be very exciting both for me and my viewer base.
Unfortunately, as it's often the case, I haven't been able to go ahead with this because of time and money. Drawing personal, single non-commission images on the side is manageable to work on along with commissions, but making a fully-fledged comic is a whole different deal, and unless any of us would be ok with seein one single page a month (at least), the only way I can see it working is if I can figure some way to profit of out it from any viewers who are genuinely interested.
But how? That's what I'd like to hear from you!
I've been doing some research, and still am, regarding payment methods and platforms through which I could get these comics funded. But I also welcome any ideas and suggestions from all of you. I know Patreon is often the most refferenced platform, but that's something that I'd rather think about once my viewerbase grows larger. Nonetheless, whatever suggestion you may have for me, please let me know!
As of the subject matter of the comics, most of them as I mentioned would be based on cartoons and games, mostly stuff I've made fanart of before, such as Banjo-Kazooie, Kulipari, Kung Fu Panda, etc. Something with a short and sweet plot to it, and of course some sexy lewd scenes thrown in. Nothing too heavy on fetishes, unless I think of otherwise, but something that hopefully can appeal to everyone!
But all that said, what do you think of this idea? Please let me know what you think down there in the comments!

FA+

1. It seems completely fair to me to do that, not everyone can handle comic + commisions
2. I think it would be hard to not have a clear amount set for each page, people don't really buy things like "If I get more money, I MIGHT draw more pages". Always better when it's clear. So maybe set "minimum 1 page a month, additional page for every ..$" . Of course it's just an idea.
3. Patrons get to see the comic first (that's standard)
4. There are chances it doesn't work, I've seen comics that work very well on Patreon and others not at all.
I think what people don't like about Patreon in general are people who put their stuff behind a paywall, and people who suddenly create a Patreon without any thoughts in it, just because they want to make more money. You don't seem to be in these 2 cases so it's all good.
Final word: if it involves Crane, count me in ^^
Any plans on what it would be about?
