Give Me Styles
General
One of these days I just want to sit down and dedicate some pages in my sketchbook to drawing my characters in various different styles. It sounds like it'll be fun practice/experimentation and I might find some elements that I could add to my own style.
So I just want people to give me suggestions of various styles that I should try... art styles from art history, art styles from established artists, art styles from here... whatever. Please just not any art styles that are super generic and overdone (Lion King, Balto, typical Inu Yasha style animu, Blotch/Tani Da Real/etc. I don't care if you like those styles or not... I've seen those styles too damn much.)
And if there's enough interest or if I feel like it, I'll post the resulting pages.
ALSO! Speaking of styles... this is an absolutely super-pretty and super-adorable webcomic- http://www.tinykittenteeth.com/
SHIT I'M RUNNING LOW ON BATTERY POWER! D:

Still, yeah, no doubt it's possible to draw a character in a given style, although it's correct the surroundings, extras and technique are the main difference ^^
And I myself am a fan of all things neo-classical : masterful, well-preserved paintings (even if only because they're recent) that display greatly enjoyable simplicity, and a wonderful architecture to boot! ^^
Superdickery has plenty of examples of the visual style[/url] of that era.
