Overdue Commission Schedule and Opening Commissions tomorrow
7 years ago
Hey guys! So I've spent a fair amount of time this past week trying to work out a schedule for completing my overdue work. It's been far too long for some of these commissions. And I'm not great at reaching out and giving updates. Below is the schedule that I'm hoping to stick to, it is an aggressive work schedule that means I'm gonna try committing to working non-stop for the next few months so I can dig myself out of this hole (taking at least a day off a week so I don't get too stressed) I'm honestly not sure how its gonna go but I'll find out this week. If I'm not sticking somewhat close to my goals I have a secondary less stressful one set incase I need to dial it back for sanity's sake.
Here's is what I HOPE to achieve and stick to:
(give or take a few days depending)
March:
- Finish Overdue Comissions:
August- Finished by next Wednesday 3/7
September - Finished by next Saturday 3/10
October - Finished by Saturday 3/24
November - Finished by Saturday 3/31
- Complete the majority of Badges from August to January, as well as FWA Pre-Orders
(I tend to toss a few in-between larger projects because they are a good break from the pieces that take days to complete)
I also might not start these til later in the month BUT I'll make sure I have time to finish them even its a day before the con!
- And if theres enough time and I have the budget for it, I'll be working on a side project that'll allow me to sell spray painted prints on wood at FWA.
(more on that coming soon, I may offer pre-orders for them)
April:
- FWA -
I'll be attending FWA this year! Cons are usually my vacation, but depending on how things go, I'll potentially be aiming for a spot in artists alley this year to sell some fun at and for badge pick up. (otherwise I'll pick somewhere for folks to meet me if I'm not in there)
I'll be spending that first week finishing up any leftover badges to be delivered at the con and other side stuff.
- Finish Overdue work:
December- Finished by Wednesday 4/18
January - Finished by Friday 4/23
February - Finished by 4/31
May:
- Finish the rest of my backlog
March and April and May Commissions
- Possibly BLFC depending entirely on how well selling stuff at FWA goes and if I can get last minute plans in place for it.
All in all it's gonna take some time for me to catch up. I apologize for giving out bad deadlines and estimates before. I really really hope I can stick to the above plan, because I don't want the weight of all this on my shoulders for longer than this. It's a fuck ton of work on my part. but its more reasonable than thinking I can shove all of that into a month and getting frustrated and unmotivated when I come no where close to meeting that goal.
Additionally I'll be opening commissions tomorrow. After several talks with friends and folks I realized that I needed to change my prices a bit to reflect where I put the majority of my time. That being said my backgrounds are going to cost a good bit more. I love doing them, but they are a timesink. Admittedly I'm a bit afraid of how opening tomorrow is going to go with the increase in price and 2ish month wait, but hoping that will both ease the amount of work I need to take and in turn really shorten my commission list when I do reach that point.
Additionally, if I get the funding for my stencil side project, and its successful, I'll be able to take on less work in the long run and save myself some stress :3 (more on stencils tomorrow!)

Oh man, that's quite an aggressive schedule. Here's hoping you can pull it off
