Good bye Tomy- My old dog just suddenly passed away

Hi there. Wish could post a happier journal, but this is still a shock to me.
My Sister's dog "Tomy" just passed away with 12 years old.
old grumpy, jellos, bottomless stomach dog, but still a good dog.
its 10:20 as I wright this...he just had his usual special diner (since he was old he had special food, bowl of stew chicken with boiled veggies and rice + some dog food), and then for dinner he had some special snacks or fruit, or diet soft cheese, or like tonight 10pm, he had a light soft yogurt, his favorite after the soft light cheese...and suddenly he passed away.
He had good health, could still see, hear and even dough half the teeth where rotten he just had a bath 2 days ago and was in excellent mood.
still cant really understand why..it just happened.
after 6 months of depression for other things I was trying to keep quiet about, now this happens.
Its becoming really hard to stand up and move on. dunno I just felt I had to let people know...dunno why since I don't talk about my pets.
I know some close friends will care....I just cant fully accept it yet...since it was so sudden and it felt like he could easily live 3 more years

Just remember you're not alone in this regard.
We'll be here should you wish to talk, take as long as you need. Loss of a pet is like loss of a family.
but i felt better, relieved even, getting that goodbye out after bottling it up for that week.
it will get better, and seems you have plenty here alone you can lean on, and more from the family i would wager.
