Because of fucking course they are....because the network is all but creatively bankrupt, and hey Teen Titans Go is (somehow) the most popular show so fuck it, let's make everything motherfucking Teen Titans fucking Go! Fuck fuckity fuck fuck! (okay I'm overdoing it slightly).
Really though, I'm hardly surprised. Because they did this with the Powerpuff Girls as well, and Ben 10. Take a show that previously has a semi-serious edge to it, and grind down that edge to a totally dull point so the series is nothing but cheap and easy humour that can endlessly be rerun.
What happened? What happened to cartoons? Can we not have anything evenly remotely serious anymore?
Just like I said, they're creatively bankrupt and totally clueless. I didn't even know about Nick reviving Fairly Odd Parents three times, but it speaks volumes about the sheer amount of clueless flailing they're doing.
Fuck this guy and his stupid man-bun. Of course he listens to japanese pop music, because why not. This guy couldn't be more of a stereotype if he tried. Must have left his thick framed glasses at home.
The original Thundercats was awesome, but the first remake in 2011 is the one I love most.
This can't be real...this has to be a late April fools joke...
No sane man alive would do such a shitty intro especially with a "Nya" as a start and an earrape screech of Thundercats at the end. For an animator who wants to "honor a classic" he sure does a lot to molest its legacy with this crap.
Time to guess the next classic show to be ruined by the reboot treatment:
Batman TAS
Gargoyles
Recess
The Weekenders
Courage the Cowardly Dog
Invader Zim
BraveStarr
G.I. Joe
X-Men
Peter Pan and the Pirates
Where on Earth is Carmen Sandiego?
Hasbro hasn't really touched much on GI Joe since its failed attempt of a reboot with Renegades on their Hub network (now Discovery Family), plus the movies didn't go that well I think so its probably safe. Bravestarr is probably also safe due to the backlash it would get from Native American groups or what not, no I would be most worried if they did this to either He Man or She Ra which would make more sense as He Man got a reboot on CN before the Thundercats did in 2011, which was going well till they up and cancelled it along with every other edgy cartoon they had. I heard last year that Netflix has the rights to Carmen Sandiego and was making an animated series (as linked above) with it so that's safe from CN at least.
This is really one time I feel that millennials are ruining things for us gen Xers or so by taking childhood classics of the 80s and 90s and putting out trash in return for their own kids to watch and be influenced by. At this point about the only decent cartoon on that I watch is My Little Pony: Friendship is Magic (though yes the fandom is rather toxic as heck) as that is what I have access to.
ok I am confused by that, I thought it went something like this:
Baby Boomer: 1945-65
GenX: 1966-86
GenY: 1987- 2007
Milleninal: 2008- now
as I know my parents are boomers (being born in 47 and 49) and I myself was born in 79 yet I don't consider myself to be a millennial, I relate to GenX I consider my nephews to be such as they were born in 2010 and 2014. So unless some naming change happened that I am not aware of, I still don't relate to such as it really doesn't make sense in anycase.
according to that article the majority of researchers, (its only some insurance companies and Nielsen Media that start in 1977) consider 1980 to be the beginning year with the mid 90s the cutoff so depending on your viewpoint you are either one or of the prior Generation, I still consider myself to be the one following the Boomers. I mean I graduated high school in 1998 here.
Well early happy birthday (and I do hope it is a good one) seeing its in 3 weeks. Still even the US Census Bureau considers the start to be 1982 for millennials. If anything according to the last sentence under the Data and Age range section you and me would be considered something called a Xennial or the Oregon Trail Generation.
Ugh, I don't understand them... I really don't. CN was great when we had creative minds that brought us Dexter's Lab, Johnny Bravo, Ed Edd & Eddy, and countless other shows along that time frame...given, the last mention there is a bit past the era I was referencing, but still... And now it's 90% Teen Titans Go because the company doesn't know how to function anymore and prefers playing it safe over taking risks most of the time. Same with Nickelodeon. Same with most other television channels now. It's a fucking travesty. At the very least, finish the good shit you guys start. I was kinda interested in the anime-ish looking Thundercats when it came out. Hell, they even made SNARF relatively enjoyable!! Blah, I give up.
We'll one day call the time we live in a great creative slump with some demi-official title when it passes. Once the market crashes from being flooded with horrible content and every good IP is ruined by unwanted spinoffs, creative producers will be forced to come up with something of good quality and originality again to survive. Until then, enjoy hunting down the rare golden eggs that are good in modern entertainment. I know I do when my overtime minimum wage job and being rejected by publishers allows me to.

So hard they revived Odd Parents twice? Threetimes?
Even undoing the canon ending.
It works about as well as you'd expect.
I don't want to watch OK K.O. Let's be Thundercats.
Yes, yes I do, this is a thundercat: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=HAXq0LHNvqo now fuck off and stop raping my childhood.

What they did to the show?
Or that stupid fugly thing (I won't even call that a ponytail) on the guy's head?
Yeah, we don't like Teen Titans go, but little kids seem to love it!
