KiyoneScarlet's Terms of Service
By hiring me, you understand and agree to these following terms:
1. You must be at least 18 years old or have proof of permission from a parent or guardian in order to hire me to produce artwork for you. Under no circumstances will I draw adult artwork for anybody under 18 years of age.
2. I will only accept payment prior to starting any work on a proposed project. Payment must be delivered in full, unless the amount of which is large enough that I deem a payment plan to be reasonable. If both the client and myself agree to a payment plan, each payment must be delivered in a timely manner. If the payments stop for any reason, so will the progress on the piece. The only form of payment I will accept is currency that is USD or easily exchanged into USD. PayPal is the preferred method of payment, though alternatives will be considered on a case-by-case basis. Examples of what I will NOT accept as payment include gift cards, redemption codes for digital media, and cryptocurrency.
3. Turnaround time for a full-body piece of artwork is typically a month. Icons and badges are generally produced within a week of being ordered. I have the right to change the estimated date of completion on a project depending on personal circumstances in my life; should this date change, I will notify the client as soon as is reasonably possible.
4. Commissioned work may be re-uploaded freely by the client, provided that I am properly and visibly credited for said artwork.
5. Refunds can and will be granted in full, but only if no work on your commission has begun. Partial refunds will be offered for work that has reached further levels of completion, proof of which can be provided if necessary.
6. You are free to use the artwork you have commissioned for personal, non-commercial, non-business use. When hiring me to produce artwork for you, you are NOT purchasing the rights to use the artwork for commercial/business use, though terms for ordering artwork intended for such uses can be discussed with me via email.
7. Under no circumstances will I accept or work on a project that is against the law or is intended as an attack toward a specific person, living or dead, or a business/corporation. I will not accept any commissions from individuals who self identify as part of or are affiliated with AltFurry/AltRight/Neo-Nazi groups and communities. I have the right to refuse taking a commission for any reason, and I will only take payment when both the client and myself have both agreed to the proposed content and price of the piece.
If you have any further questions regarding my terms of service, email me at demoweasel[at]gmail.com.

Point 6 confuses me. When a commissioner pays an artist to draw their character specifically, aren't all rights reserved by the commisioner regardless of what point 6 says about commercial rights? I understand that a deal can be worked in by the person who owns the character (such as a small royallty on books printed and bought by the public such as the case of fiction books), but ultimately one would assume that the owner of the character owns the art that comes of that character as well. This is why when an individual tries to copyright a character or idea officially in the U.S. there is a period of time in which a person can challenge the copyright with evidence of true ownership of the character and the ideas behind it.
You ever do like, actual full commissions anymore? I see you're *always* doing the icons.
