Growing Up
It looks like my mom and grandma doesn’t see me as a kid anymore, and see that I am becoming a man. I mean, even though I’m an adult...I’m still gonna be their child, though. Oh, well. Parents will be parents if I say so myself.
Nonetheless, the reason why I said my mom and grandma finally see me as a man is because of what happened today. See, I’ve been thinking about ordering pizza. So, I asked my grandma if it’s alright with her for me to order us pizza. Just for the record, this is the second time I asked my grandmother about me ordering us pizza. Anyways, I’ve already placed the order, so now I have to wait for the delivery to arrive. However, a few minutes later, my mom just called. Unfortunately, aunt Christian got the phone. Not only that but then I heard my grandma telling mom that I ordered pizza for us. I was too late, and think that my mom is probably mad at me. Apparently, as it turns out...my mom wasn’t mad at me. She was just asking what we’re going to eat, anyways. So, I called my mom and told her I already ordered the pizza. Turns out, she really isn’t mad at all. And here I am worrying thinking she’s gonna be in one of her moods after doing what my grandma finds as a “good deed.” Nonetheless, the pizza came paid in cash, and we ate. My mom just came home from work, then came to me and...she thanked me for ordering the pizza for dinner. Furthermore, I heard my mom and grandma talking, and then in my mom’s voice, I heard her tell my grandma that I CAN do it! I’m guessing what my mom is talking about is me being responsible for looking out for the family. I guess I should be happy and proud of myself.
Although, you know what? This isn’t the first...or second...or probably a few times I’ve done something secret behind my family’s back. There were times where every Friday when I leave the house and go to 7-Eleven to get m some goodies while my grandma and mom are at work. Let alone my aunt Christian is in her room without even noticing. Now, 7-Eleven, along with Rite-Aid Pharmacy are both like one mile away from my grandmother’s house. Nonetheless, it was on that certain day...where my aunt Christian caught me, and I didn’t expect she would be downstairs in the kitchen. And so my aunt Christian told me and I quote: “Just because you’re an adult, doesn’t mean you can do whatever you want.” So, Christian was alright to see I’m safe. However, I spoke with my grandma the other day about how would she respond if I told her I’m gone to 7-Eleven. Well, grandma said that she wants me to stay safe. Let alone as long as I’m with someone in my family. Apparently, I did confess to my grandma about that bag of ice in the deep freezer. That bag of ice came from me, and I got it from 7-Eleven. I didn’t want her or mom to find out because I was afraid they might get upset. However, grandma thanked me for bringing the bag of ice over back then. And you know what? I did it, again. Only this time I and Christian went to 7-Eleven together.
Overall, I never did expect this. I mean, my mom and grandma are okay with me doing something good, yet risky for the family. I mean, sure, parents can be overprotective. However, I’d never thought my mom and grandma would change a little about me. Let alone open up a little to me. I guess maybe I was wrong, or perhaps I could’ve been patient until time and life itself will tell what’s changing. Either way, I’m kinda feeling alright.
*aside* Say, maybe next time I can ask grandma if it’s alright for me to order us Chinese.

While that is true to an extent, it's also false. You can't steal, murder, or do anything else illegal, but as an adult, you're certainly free to come and go as you please. If you want to go to the store, neither your aunt nor anyone else can tell you that you can't go.
But Sunfire's right. If you're over eighteen, you can come and go as you please, (absent some unusual factor, like an overly-strict house rule, (in which case consider moving out on your own), or you having a problem that makes you incapable of taking care of yourself.)
