got rid of some of the crap on here cuz it was fairly settled and i don't wanna think about it anymore. *lol* someone did something i didn't appreciate, but its over and done with, so whatev.
I'm not trying to accuse people... i just figure i should pose this info SOMEWHERES.
anyway... here's some information for future reference.
When I draw you guys an image... you're welcome to:
-upload it to your gallery
-use as an icon
-print it out
-show others
-use image for personal webpage layouts
-Some alterations are fine! Such as— adding text to an image, coloring it, cropping, or changing the background... simple stuff
.... but please give me credit for the original drawing.
You can NOT:
-allow others to use it
-trace it
-re-sell it
-say you drew it
-major alterations
the character in the images is your intellectual property... but the drawing is legally mine mmkay?
i'm pretty chill about this sort of thing. and i think i'm being pretty fair about this (feel free to call me out if it seems otherwise!)
if I draw you an image, i want you to have fun with it... but there are certain courtesies you should have towards me as the artist of the image. courtesy in general is a GOOD THING! :D

Shit sucks, I mean that'd kinda be okay if the person would have said he/she referenced it from you... but being all like "oh yeah I r supaa original" with that kinda stuff is just... :/

i think i'd be a pretty sad person if i tried to sue someone who traced/copied a rather cheap commission of mine on lined paper. XD
That's just one of three major examples of what I've seen artists who were formally on my watch list pull out and say eat them if we don't like it.
Anyway, I'll go for sushi as long as I can get tuna and corn as well as tuna and cucumber rolls :P

So i personally do free alterations to avoid things like that online. xD
But the picture they did doesn't look TOTALLY traced... looks like heavily referenced. Though looking at their other work, everything seems heavily referenced. ._.
But i guess the fact they mentioned Relolia, i guess they knew they traced/copied it. ._.
the picture is heavily referenced to the point of where certain aspects of it are similar enough for me to call it out as a trace.
Relolia evidently didn't know this image was going to be traced... he thought this person was going to use it for something else... which i'm still not 100% okay with.
Oh, and THAT by alterations. x3 A commission i did once, the guy completely redid the background O_o
i'm not really sure what you could learn for lil ol' me cuz your stuff seems so polished, interesting, dimensional, etc... I COULD GO ON. but anyway there's nothing wrong with studying other artists... i do it all the time. i don't think it's creepy. (well... unless it really did become a creepy obsession. XD )
that said, i hope i didn't sound like an arrogant prick in this journal because someone traced my work... i understand that everyone traces at one point and that it can help an artist progress and study... haha. I just didn't want to come across as being up in arms... i just like a little courtesy is all. hopefully my requests don't seem too hardass-ish. XD
