I think it's one of those "account limit" things. I will call PayPal and see what can be done. Last time I explained my situation to them and they made things right for me.

Ah! I'm glad you understand. I should have the account verified, but I guess they really want my bank info to make that happen. With their security troubles I say "nope". xD I agree too the information they put out is somewhat vague and hard to put into use.

I sent about $60 so far via ko-fi. Called PayPal Saturday but didn't find the proper channels to help me get the problem fixed. Depending on your timeline here I could send the rest in February (which is sooo long from now ayyyyy).

Mmhmm! You can attach a credit or debit card and use it for payment, but to receive payment you would need to attach a bank account to PayPal in order to transfer the money to your bank.

PayPal accounts with a bank account attached have less stipulations and spending/sending limits attached. Apparently, when someone pays you via PayPal, the person who sends you money is actually paying PayPal first and then PayPal sends the agreed upon amount (after fees) to the friend, family or artist at the other end of the transaction. Apparently some of the NSFW artists using PayPal have had their PayPal assets siezed and/or their accounts closed because NSFW art violates PayPal's T.O.S. If people add "NSFW" or a link to the purchased artwork (like a WIP) on the transaction notes it's a quick way for the artist to get busted. Sometimes angry customers complain about the artist's NSFW work to PayPal and the same asset seizure and account closing happens too. :(

Oh yes, I heard about this type of issues which is... kinda stupid as... it should depend on the type or art... And it's not like if you were hurting anybody by commissionning erotic art per example... It's like thinking that humanity can live and love without sex being part of them.
Even if, I can also understand that they can't lose time checking every type of content they're allowing people to sell.

I agree. Hopefully PayPal will one day re-write their policies to exclude the things that are not harmful. Seems like social media and PayPal are going the opposite direction right now.
