Incoming opinions!! TAKE COVER!!
typed and re-typed about ten times before i realized a big-ass rant isnt necessary, but made me feel better typing it a few times so there we are lol...
anyways, short version, theres a new guy in our shop, i dont really care for him much but i can easily work with anyone because i just dont really care about who else is in the shop as long as the work gets done... but everyone else in the shop pretty much hates him atm because he cried wolf to HR about another guy in our shop (who is an idiot who doesnt think before he speaks, granted...) about a joke that offended him or something.
what everyone is so pissed about is that rather than go through the proper channels, confronting the guy, talking to a manager, hashing it out at the shop level... he went straight to HR, making it a corporate thing, multiple guys getting pulled to ask what they heard, etc etc. a huge pain in the ass for everyone. AND he does this less than half a week after failing a drug test and before he has to take a follow-up, making everyone believe he's acting it up so he can claim discrimination if he gets fired for the drug test or something...
but anyways, the atmosphere in the shop when this guy is at work now is fucking terrible... and that topped with two abysmal work weeks in a row is making it nigh unbearable... im already dealing with insufficient pay (working Flat-Rate SUCKS...) i dont need this drama shit too...
shit like this is why i tell people im a misanthrope and a borderline sociopath... i straight-up tell people that, pretty good way to get people to leave me the fuck alone and let me do my job. especially since its basically true...

tuesday i spent 3 three straight hours sitting around the shop, and all the jobs that did come in after that were just oil changes with no extra services i could sell the customers, lowest paying jobs in terms of shop labor hours which determine my pay, and not many of them...
when a flat-rate-paid mechanic is sitting idle, he is making zero dollars, but when im working and getting good jobs and selling vehicle services, i make more than any hourly-rate paid technicians. double edged sword with the wrong end cutting me atm...
