I'm sure most of you know about What The Fur, a Quebec furry convention that sadly ended a few years ago. It was the convention that changed my life and where I met my wife and wonderful friends and fans. I dedicated my art services to the convention whenever they needed it for years. It was an amazing experience that will never be replicated. My friend

I suggest everyone read his journal and share it around. It is very long, but it is worth the read. You can read his journal HERE. Take 30 minutes of your day to read over this journal.
Thank you.
Since the beginning their creators got attacked again and again, supposedly for organisation, financial transparency and whatnot - my ASS! It was just pure jealousy. They were the best and they have been able to withstand four editions before having more than enough. When they stopped, everybody had great ideas to make new ones, above all those who criticized the former organisators. The result? Guess... There has been NOTHING anymore since then. Nobody was able to only organize something a little coherent. Oh, yeah, there have been sooooo many great propositions from those assholes who know how to do things much, much better... But when it comes to actually DO something, that's when they show their complete incompetence in everything apart attacking.
Years later it burst open on the french furry forum, which I quitted then so much I was disgusted by some of the members behavior. The furry fandom is incredibly carcinogenic, never seen that anywhere else (although I've heard the gaming community is not better either).
Hopefully it also showed me who were real friends, at least.
Sorry for the rant but almost ten years later I still have not digested all that, and this journal brings me back so many bad memories...................
After all the jealousy, backstabbing and greed the end result was one less convention to go to, and at least one life painfully altered. And as he says, no one will step up to try to do it themselves. In this day and age, most people *can't* do so, so there's no way to undo the damage. Sheer stupidity. This is where the 'Cut off your nose to spite your face.' saying came from.
