Confuzzled 2019 wrap-up! (My first furcon!)
Finally settled back into my comfy abode after going to my first furcon in Birmingham this weekend!
The sun's gone, the rain's kisses are back, the normies surround me once more and post-con depression has...mildly kicked in and gone? I actually didn't feel much other than a brief mellow mood from feeling the holiday was over. I had a really good time–much better than I expected to have actually–but I think there's a comfort in knowing I can very easily meet the friends I've made and come back to this con fairly easily another time. A lot of the people I've met were also people I knew already, but I was more than happy to meet in-person again. It was lovely meeting so many of you in-person for the first time, though! Some people I even talked to for the first time and really hit it off quickly–something I absolutely struggle to do due to my anxiety. I got along with a few of the artists at dealers den too, which is always really nice. I don't really want to name all the people I got along with since if I just know I'll slip up and forget to name someone, and I'd hate to have that guilt on me! You guys know who you are. I don't think there's anyone I didn't at least share a good memory with.
Except hearing 'all the single furries' for the first time in several years being played in our hotel room, which I was unable to drink enough to forget about despite my very, very best efforts.
I think I really wanna volunteer if I end up going next year too. I want to give back to the community more, and I'd love the chance to get to know people outside my small circles! It'd be really cool if I can help some artist friends maybe set up their own tables at a con sometime.
Speaking of artists, I'll have a few art pieces going up soon! I have line-art that'll be coming back from the con and mailed to me, and I also got two things Voidflame, one of them being a sketch and the other being my first badge! Also managed to get a few smaller things, like this cute sticker from Bakap (which was really useful because those badges are always flipping around??) and a few adorable doodles as well. I also got a little luggage tag from Skaifox, who I may or may not have to commission Kingoose/big goat from now considering their style.
That's about it! I will likely be catching up on all the art I have to upload soon but I'll try to space it out as not to drown your feeds. Thanks for reading up, and thanks to all the lovely people that sent so much as a 'hello' my way. I had a lovely time. <3
