Terms of Service and Commission Details
Story commission (Henceforth referred to as "commission") slots will be announced via journal on my FA page and/or other social media platforms. Slots are not on a first come-first served basis, but are based on the ideas I find most appealing/interesting to write about and those I feel I could do the most justice for. I make every effort to be impartial in my choices with regards to friends, repeat clients, wording of your ideas, or the size/value of the commission. Story minimum length will be agreed upon before writing begins. The commissioner will be responsible for paying to all words written up to that value. All words written beyond the agreed upon minimum will not incur additional charges. Minimum word count of 1000 words per commission. Story requests should conform to the limits of the "Favorite Topics/Will Write/Will Not Write" list below. Exceptions may be made for certain ideas/executions of certain topics. If you are unsure if I will accept an idea/topic/theme, don't be afraid to ask! All payments will be handled through PayPal and agreed upon before work begins. Payment will not be accepted until a basic outline has been presented to and approved by the customer at which point payment in full will be requested. Once payment has been received, work will begin on the story proper. Time from commission to completion will be no more than two months. I work a full time job in addition to what I do here and that takes up a lot of my time, please be patient. I will try to complete work as quickly as possible for the agreed upon length. I reserve the right to terminate the commission at any time for any reason. If I do terminate the commission, the commissioner will be notified and a refund, in full, will be issued within 3-5 business days alongside and apology and explanation for the termination.
Only myself, the commissioner, and owners of characters featured in the commissioned story have the right to repost the story, provided they credit the author in the submission and provide a link back to my FA or SoFurry page. The commissioner and character owners also have the right to use the story for non-commercial purposes and to produce/commission non-commercial art derived from the story contents. Commissioners will be granted access to a copy of the story hosted via GoogleDocs for final review/approval before final proofing/editing and upload. Minor changes to characters, scenes, dialogue, and descriptions will be accepted. Major plot reworks will not be accepted after the outline phase. Refunds not possible after the outline has been agreed upon.
Communication will be maintained throughout the process via Discord or Telegram (note me and I'll add you), or FA notes if preferred. Questions, comments, requests, and updates will be handled at the earliest possible convenience. All commissions will be posted online. If you would like to remain anonymous, please make that clear before writing begins. Contact me for further details on this process. Adult commissions will require a written statement of the commissioner's age before the outline begins. If I suspect the commissioner is lying about their age, I have the right to not accept the commission. Contact me with your commission ideas via notes including your desired length, theme, characters, and a short description of your idea. Commissions will close when I've chosen an idea to fill each open slot.
