Karno's Rare-Because-He-Never-Has-Time Blather:
Ahhh, Independence day! I love it - being independent is a good thing.
Yes, America's history has many dark spots. I read an English translation of one of Christopher Columbus' letters talking about the trade in prepubescent Native girl sex slaves not too long ago, and it made me mildly ill.
But said history has some real bright spots, too. The founding fathers' idea of freedom of speech, religion and association (with the second amendment to give all these enumerated rights teeth) was bold and brilliant for the times, and it still is a damn good idea.
So how about we celebrate this, raise a glass to the land of the free and the home of the brave?
.....Or we used to be, anyway. Are we still? I sure hope so. Like a 40's filmmaker asked of us, "Don't be a sucker!":

I'm no big fan of Mr. Trump. That said, let me tell you; the new generation of ultra-leftist politicians, especially the Presidential candidates; scare the bejunior out of me.
that goes to the Vikings!!
If the Far-Leftists and some illegal immigrants who keep waving foreign flags instead of the Stars and Stripes hate America so much, why don't they just disappear so as to make space for legal immigrants like me?
That way, it will be easier for me to qualify for a greencard.
Hee - I love that old film!
There are so many things named after that man is this country (USA).
Generally the Spanish were complete monsters during the colonial era.
(yes there is plenty of blame to spread around but.. they were the worst)
Especially if you would not turn Christian, you were worthy of torture and death.
The same if you were English or something and not Catholic! (and yes the Inquisition made it to the Americas)
