Story Contest- Status Shift!

I am teaming up with my friend, prolific and talented TF story writer 
xerox2 to put on a transformation story contest!
Rules:
The story must fit the theme “status shift.” Examples include stories where a character gains or loses control, reputation, rank, role, or position, but this requirement can be accomplished in many ways, and you should feel free to be creative in your interpretation.
Max word count: 7532
Story must include a transformation
Story must be written for this competition (no stories that have already been posted will be accepted)
Story must be posted publicly
Story must be submitted by 11PM PST (GMT -8hrs) October 7th
One entry per person
Story can be adult or SFW
Prizes:
Two grand prizes (one each chosen by SkiesOfSilver and Xerox2): an illustration by either BlackShirtBoy BlackShirtBoy or Foxxy-tf Foxxy-tf
Mystery Judge Award: $50
Aftermath Award: $50
How to enter:
Post your story somewhere public (Furaffinity, Deviantart, Sofurry, Docs-lab, Pastebin, etc).
Put a link back to this submission in the description.
Send a private message to either Xerox2 or myself with the subject “Status Shift” and a link to the story.
Congratulations, you’ve successfully entered the contest!
Fine print:
If a prize is not claimed within a month of being announced or if a contest winner's conduct toward the contest runners, other participants, or artists is extremely poor, we reserve the right to award the prize to a runner-up.
If you win a cash prize but cannot claim it for some reason, you can choose to have that money given to someone else (an artist, a charity, etc).

I can start by pondering things that Aren't very creative, and going "mmm no, not that one".
...pation. You can, however, know that the title is called STATUS SYMBOL.
That's an interesting number. Any particular reason?
