Stub-Tail Studios Terms of Service (TOS)
Last updated 9/16/19
Introduction- Thank you for taking interest in commissioning me for a piece of custom artwork. I am excited to work with you. These rules may seem harsh or rude, but they are to here to protect me, as an artist, and you, as a customer. Please take your time when reading the following rules. I am not to be held responsible for failures to fully read and/or comprehend. If you have a question, please send me an email at stubtailstudios@gmail.com. Thank you!
What I Will NOT Draw- I will not draw; hard drug use, pedophilia, zoophilia, snuff, extreme gore, vore, other extreme fetishes. If you are unsure if I will draw it, feel free to ask me!
Timeline and Order of Completion- Commissions are worked on in order of payment, or if during a day by day event (such as Inktober or Sketchuary) they are worked on in the order of which your image's theme is listed. I may jump around when working on particularly difficult pieces, so that I do not become burned out or bored. I do not work on deadlines due to severe depression that effects my life at random, unpredictable times. I am currently unemployed, but that does not mean that I have all day, every day to work on art. I do have a life outside of my art and the furry fandom. Due to the unfairness and stress of rush work, I will not accept rush orders. However please discuss with me your timeline and I can see if it is within reason for me to get it done in time.
Updates- I will automatically send updates when I reach certain stages of the commission. Usually these stages are Sketch, Lineart, and Color. I will also send out updates if there is going to be a delay in the work, or if I need to cancel. Please do not repeatedly message me asking for updates. Doing so could result in cancelation of the commission and a refund depending on the level of completion.
Edits- At each stage listed above in the update section, you are allowed to ask for edits. Please be sure to carefully look over the artwork before approving it for the next stage. If you fail to mention something wrong before the art is done, I will not be held responsible. No edits will be made after the final color update.
References- When commissioning me, I require at least 1 reference image. A reference sheet is preferable but I can work on an accurate and up to date image. I will not work on written references alone unless they are generic things. For example: A black wolf with blue eyes. If you know exactly what you want (such as pose, clothing, etc), references for those are also appreciated.
Reposting Policy- If you are the commissioner, recipient of a gift, or otherwise in the image you may repost anywhere you wish. I, as the artist, am also allowed to post anywhere I wish. When reposting, you must link back to me. If you do not, I will ask you once to properly credit me. If proper credit is still not given, it will be reported to the website admin as stolen.
Payment- Payment is due before work is started and is accepted via Paypal only. I do not accept money orders, cash, or checks by mail. If you are local to me, I may accept cash in person. This will be decided on a case by case basis and is not available to everyone.
Refunds- A full refunds will only be given if I am unable to finish your work due to personal reasons, or if I have not started on your art and you ask for a refund. Any other time it will a partial refund. These reasons could be because of being harassed for updates or rude behavior, or if I have already started your art and it is past the sketch stage. No refunds will be given if all opportunities to make edits were passed and there is a problem with the art. I give plenty of chances to make sure the art is what you want.
Artist Rights- As the artist I hold partial rights to any works that I create. I however will not use your commission for prints if it is of specific characters. If the art is of generic animals or scenery, I reserve the right to sell prints. I also have the right to post the art anywhere I wish, with proper credit to the character owners. If you wish to stay anonymous, or if the art is a surprise for someone, you must tell me ahead of completion.
Refusal of Service- Just like any other business, I am under no obligation to work for you. I reserve the right to refuse any commission for any reason. I am also under no obligation to explain why I am refusing the commission. Guilt trips will not get you art. I will not tolerate rude customers. Artists are humans, not machines, and we have feelings just like everyone else.
