10 Cartoon Faves From Childhood
This is a meme that was started by
vincinicolaides, and thought it would be cool to do in my journal!
The Top 10 Cartoon Faves From My Childhood are:
10: The Mysterious Cities of Gold
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=stiKu-Mbh8g
A young boy, who is believed to be a Child of the Sun, journeys to the New World to help find the Cities of Gold! Nickelodeon showed this awesome show in the mid 80s, but I only remember seeing it run once. I don't know if Nick ran it through several times, like other shows or not. Can anyone answer this?
9: He Man and the Masters of the Universe
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7yeA7a0uS3A
The prince of the planet Eternia is secretly the Most Powerful Man In the Universe! What a great show! I enjoyed this show for a very long time, until people started pointing out all the gay innuendo stuff... Thanx for raeping my childhood, guys!
8: The Pink Panther
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xIst.....eature=related
It's the infamous cat who's performance stole the show from Peter Sellers, who finally got his own series of cartoons! This counts because, as you may well know, these were shown on TV as well as in the theaters.
7: Thundercats
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2Qd_IsxgAf8
Cat people from the planet Thunderra battle against mutants from the planet Plundarr and an ancient evil on Third Earth. Another great show, and not just because it's furry. Animation's great, stories are well done, plenty of excitement, action, and suspense...
6: Tom and Jerry
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=BwCB.....eature=related
The classic cat and mouse duo! I've always loved these guys smacking each other around! Enough said!
05: GI Joe
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=M06smQOkxq8
"GI Joe is the codename for America's daring, highly trained, special mission force. Its purpose: to defend human freedom against Cobra: a ruthless terrorist organization determined to rule the world." Ohh-raah!!! Another totally awesome show in the early years of its long run! Although, to be honest, the best theme, IMHO, is the movie theme! Cobra gets a theme song!!! Kick-ass!!!
And for added silliness - the FenslerFilm PSAs! http://www.youtube.com/view_play_li.....9DB22248872D50
Warning - some (ok, most) of the videos are NSFW due to language.
04: The Transformers
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xq0ZJgb-VX4 (season 1)
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=SiXeD-CqPZE (season 2)
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=XRPaoTmurYc (season 3 - Five Faces of Darkness)
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wQgWy6cdnMc (season 3 - main)
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=goVOXCz_QiA (season 4)
Heroic Autobots battle the villainous Decepticons for Earth, for their home planet of Cybertron, and for control of the universe! Ok, come on. What young growing boy in the 1980s did not enjoy this show? Seriously. I'm gay, and that is no excuse for not liking them.
03: The Care Bears - Nelvana Version
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=GUhK3kw9Tws
The Care Bears!!! *mmmurrrrs* The uber-cute super-powered cuddly bears help human kids with their feelings while fighting the forces of heartlessness. They influenced some of my personality, including the desire to become a babyfur! I faved the Nelvana version because... well, it's the only version I've ever seen. I have not seen any of the DiC version episodes.
02: The Shirt Tales
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=kHgBJLSk2m4 (season 1)
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=L3FQGaqFJ7U (season 2)
The Shirt Tales were cute little animals, who wore shirts that actually flashed messages on them, fought crime in the big city! Nobody knew who they were, not even the city mayor who had direct contact with them. They lived inside a hollow tree in Oak Tree Park under the watchful eye of Mr. Dinkle. This show is responsible for driving me furry, not Disney's Robin Hood, like a majority of furries my age.
01 (paws down): The Bugs Bunny ( / Roadrunner) (& Tweety) Show
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=YdVseljx2UU
I have watched this show on Saturday mornings for as long as I can remember. Even to this day, my heart has a great fondness for the infamous "This Is It!" theme song! I have caught myself completely stopping in my tracks when I hear it playing on TV (which the last time was in the late 90s).

Swatcats
Dragon Ball series
Thundercats
He Man
Transformers
Robotech
Saint Seiya
Tom & Jerry (but the original, not the news)
Gargoyles
And others. But I cannot remember.
I Remember more!
Dinosaucers
Samurai Pizza Cats
Denver the last Dinosaur
Dino Riders! XD
And more of 90´s like you say... (sigh) Aaahhh good memories, I miss see those cartoons! ... ... XD
*The Tom & Jerry Show (The H/B Pain Factory 101; every weekday at 4:00).
*The Bugs Bunny Road Runner Show (ALL that Termite Terrace zaniness, baby!).
*Filmation's animated titles: New Adventure Of Batman, Tarzan, Zorro and Flash Gordon. (Rotoscoped shit every SatAM? Shit yeah!)
Filmations's live-action titles: Ark II, Space Academy & Jason of Star Command (kids'-level live-action shows encouraging science, exploration and adventure, with J0SC pulling a nice Star Wars ripoff with scads of cheesy comic-book goodness...and Scotty, too!)
*Johnny Quest (the most detailed limited-animation show of its era, the action-packed jazz-band BGM, Space Age tech and good storyies make it a classic).
*Scooby Doo, Where Are You? (The giggling outer-space ghost and then the two enchained "phantom shadows" from the pilot give me goose-bumps at their mere memory. How could cowards be so courageous?)
*Thundarr The Barbarian (Conan the Barbarian meets Star Wars with cheesy comic-book dialogue and plots, and interesting views of a post-end-of-civilization world 1K years in the future).
***This is really more than ten, so it'll do.
9.) Super Mario Bros. Super Show
8.) Back to the Future Animated Series
7.) Dinosaucers
6.) Mighty Ducks
5.) Extreme Dinosaurs
4.) Adventures of Sonic the Hedgehog

And the number 1 show of all time from my puppyhood...
1.) TaleSpin
the adventurs of Sonic the Hedgehog
Bugs Bunny
Thundercats
<-The original Toonami line up (cira 97)->
Ed Edd n' eddy (cira 99)

(BTW, I did grow up a few years after most of you :3)
Ooh, I found one on YouTube! http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Y0HQOB7UvEw
I haven't seen it since I was tiny, and I never realised how off-model the drawings on the opening sequence are ^.^
