History of Pangona
General
Well, first off you might not have heard, but last week Tuesday a storm knocked out my internet connection and it was just reconnected today, Friday. So I've been seriously annoyed by this. Plus recently my laptop's been locking up on me freezing in the middle of the boot up process. My father says it's a virus probably doing it, but I don't know. I've scanned my entire laptop and the external hard drive using Avast, which I need to replace since it was during it's first expiration that this issue started, SpyBot, and Lavasoft's Ad-Aware, and all three found nothing serious. When I installed my father's AVG to my laptop, it found a few things, but it also kept locking up my laptop where I could only scan in Safe Mode.
Anyway, I'm back up online and due to the over week long outage, I've finished coloring
greenlegend's fourth commission pic of the five part commission, and three of the last six of my MUGEN characters has been drawn up and inked. Inking the final three.
Some of you may've heard me mention my comic series, Over World, which the first issue was to be published through FurNation. I have to get ahold of Fuzzwolf to get that deal back up and running. I've also occasionally mentioned Derath Earth and Pangona, but I've been very vague on the details other than that it's where Claw calls home and it's home to monsters and super powered furs. Well, this journal is to change that very thing. Here is the detailed important history and information surrounding Pangona.
Pangona is the continent located between the Americas and Europe and Africa on the parallel Earth dubbed “Derath Earth.” But long ago this land mass was just an island at the time with six separate factions all warring with one another. Upon this island were towers radiating with magik of a single element. One of fire, one of ice, one of wind, one of earth, one of light, and one of shadow.
The war between these islands took place in 400 AD between wizards and sorcerers that specialized in these solitary elements that each tower bared. This war, to the Pangonains, was known as the Magi War. The war involved many species fighting for a single faction, which was somewhat better to some than the War of Breeds taking place in Europe about the same time. These towers not only strengthened the elemental spells used, but was used by Magi Artifacters to create elemental weapons and armor. But weapons, armor, and spells were not the only thing used in this war. Twenty years into the war, elementals, beings made of particular elements, were being made and used in the war. These elementals were archaic and mostly featureless other than being a vague humanoid form made of these elements. They had no thoughts of their own and could not speak at all. Some summoners that created them actually pitied them for this fact.
The war seemed to be a stalemate for many years. It wasn’t until in 472 AD, the faction using the Tower of Fire decided to push their tower to the maximum power in an effort to win the war once and for all. The other factions sensing the increase in the tower’s power pushed their own to meet the oncoming threat. But the threat never came. The towers working at maximum strength corrupted the very land and saturated the air with the magik of the six towers. Due to this the land morphed and shifted, not only changing, but growing while the sky darkened and thundered with a thick cloud forming from the clashing magical powers. From the thick clouds the entire island was hidden entirely from sight from sky or sea. All the once warring factions now were forced to abandon their war in an effort to just survive. All outsiders eventually forgot that there was any land there. All they knew was that there was a bad storm out at sea there and it showed no sign of disappearing anytime soon.
And the storm did remain for many years. It wasn’t until 1673 AD that the storm finally dissipated. And while under the cover of the magical storm not only had the land changed, but so had the people. The magic leaking into the land of Pangona had attracted monsters to the land and the people had to evolve in ways never thought of. Some of them still used magik as their ancestors did, but others had eventually acquired super powers as nature’s way to ensure their survival. Along with these changes the elementals that survived the war began their own evolution. They gained the ability to think and speak for themselves. With this they also eventually started to look like their anthro creators, even varying in species. With this elementals have joined the people of Pangona as equals. And with this new age the people of this land had established ten kingdoms to mark this new age of thinking.
The Dragon Kingdom, a kingdom at the northwestern part of the continent, ruled over by the king of the dragons and ruler of the Dragon Realm, Bahamut. The Ice Kingdom, the kingdom at the northeastern part of the continent surrounded by a wall of ice with only three ice tunnels to the interior of the kingdom, was ruled over by Sholou Frostana, an ice elemental and kind person. Just south of the Dragon Kingdom is the Inferno Kingdom, ruled over by a gargoyle called Phalnix O’ Coppa. South of the Ice Kingdom is the Deminot Kingdom, which is ruled over by Fredrick LonKrin. South of the Inferno Kingdom is the Hunter Kingdom, ruled by Isaku Iowashi. East of the Inferno Kingdom and the Hunter Kingdom is the kingdom with metallic borders guarded by passcodes, the Technik Region, which is ruled by Iskai Yotomata. East of the Technik Region is the Hades Kingdom, oddly ruled by the Greek god, Hades. Below the Technik Region is the Kingdom of Banewrath, which is ruled by the tyrant, Eldritch the Blight. Sharing the borders of the Hunter Kingdom and Banewrath is the Illusion Kingdom, ruled by Alexander Wittman. East of the Illusion Kingdom is Magi Conna, which is ruled by the supposed son of Merlin, Richard Merlinson. Finally, East of Magi Conna was the unclaimed lands, which seemed to have impenetrable borders and held no ruler. Despite the forming of these kingdoms, occasional wars between two or more still erupt from time to time in this age.
The Dragon Kingdom was a haven away from the Dragon Realm for the dragons, but welcomed all other species. Some were even tested and hired to be dragoons. The Dragon Kingdom has a port to the northwestern corner, but ships do not dock here. Instead, this port holds a magical portal that’s a direct link to the Dragon Realm, a continent just off the eastern shores of Asia and nearly surrounds Japan. In the kingdom, the town of Burmecea holds the only remains of the magical storm that surrounded Pangona as the city is constantly rained on endlessly. The southeastern part of the kingdom is the Dragon Maw cliffs, which strangely form the shape of a dragon’s jaws when viewed from the air. The Dragon’s Maw cliffs overlook the Inferno Kingdom’s Salamander desert. Bahamut has been overseeing the rule of the Dragon Kingdom with his wife, Tiamat, ever since his father, Io, founded the kingdom and gave rulership to Bahamut. Bahamut still holds rulership of this kingdom to present day.
The Ice Kingdom is constantly covered in ice and snow, living up to its name. This is the home of the ice elementals and other species that enjoy the cold. Its borders is an ice wall more than fifty feet tall and seem to never melt. The only way to get to the interior of the kingdom is through three separate ice tunnels. One of the tunnels leads to the Dragon Kingdom, while the other two lead to the Deminot Kingdom. Once inside the tunnels you may notice skeletons made of ice, as well as on the other side of the ice wall. These ice skeletons are actually the remains of ice elementals when they die. Their bodies decay like ours would, but the skeleton returns to the element of their base. These skeletons then slowly decay into ice formations. In fact, inside the kingdom near the western border is the Ice Graveyard. It is a collection of ice elemental remains that have formed into a twenty feet by twenty feet cube of ice. Some believe that the constant coldness of the kingdom is due to the Tower of Ice that stands at the center of the Ice Palace in the capital. Though Sholou Frostana is a modern ice elemental, she’s actually older than she seems as she was born on May 13, 1000 BC in what is now Berlin, Germany. It’s possible that she was a product of some sort of experiment involving the elements, but she never talks about her past always quick to change the subject and feigns ignorance. She still holds the title of ruler today, though.
The Inferno Kingdom is certainly a place where fire is evident. Mostly home to fire elementals, elemental offshoots like the fire cats, and those that love to have a hot place to live. It holds wastelands and deserts. Although they do have grass and plants here, they have taken on some unusual qualities. The grass is actually a fiery red color and the trees are like no other. The forest in the southeast has a gap separating it from the forest of the Hunter Kingdom and the Technik Region. And for good reason, as they call this forest part in the Inferno Kingdom the Forest of Fire. The trees here have somehow imbued themselves with the fire magic here and are now constantly on fire, but do not burn. They are absent of leaves, producing flames instead. No one knows for sure how they survive in this state, but they apparently flourish despite producing flames. The Tower of Fire, of course, stands here. Where it stands, though, is in the middle of a slow burning volcano. Oddly enough, there’s also an actual town inside this volcano. One of the local species, the fire cats, were once an elemental species, but they evolved to something so different and diverse from the fire cat elementals that they were no longer fully dependent on the element. The Phoenix Fire Cat, looks similar to their elemental relatives, but their fur is fiery red with rusty red triangular spots across their body. Inferno Fire Cats have gold colored fur while have red stripes sort of like a tiger and instead of having fire for hair like the fire elementals and the Phoenix Fire cats, they tend to have red or blonde hair and prefer to keep it long. Taimeian Fire Cats have very particular black markings on their gold fur, but the markings are different according to their gender, and their hair is similar to the Inferno Fire Cats, but Taimeian Fire cats prefer that their hair is kept short. Phalnix O’ Coppa is actually older than Sholou is being born on May 26, 1500 BC in the Demon Realm, a subsection of Hell. Trying to raise to power and failing at it, he fled to the mortal realm seeking a place to start his own reign. Finding the Inferno Kingdom to be an unlikely place to be questioned for his rule. He still rules the Inferno Kingdom to this day.
The Deminot Kingdom is the home of knights and samurais that wish to keep honing their combat skills and teach their children to defend themselves. And as honor bound as the residents of this kingdom are, some of the towns have been founded in some unusual places such as in the middle of a forest or in the center of a large marsh. The Tower of Wind still stands in this kingdom on the eastern border in a large field they call the Valley of Winds. Fredrick LouKrin was a knight himself coming from Britain, seeking a place of his own. Today, his descendant, Eric LouKrin, holds the title of ruler and maintains the knightly way.
The Hunter Kingdom is a haven and training ground for thieves, snipers, ninjas, and assassins. All occupations that require stealth tends to be involved with this kingdom. The Hunter Kingdom seems to war often with the Technik Region and the Deminot Kingdom. This kingdom seems like a peaceful place to be at first, but it’s really most active during the night to help train its students in stealth and limited vision. Isaku Iowashi was a ninja that sought out a place to train others while holding a nice area to do all the training they need to. Later on his grandson, Hiro Iowashi, was defeated by another ninja training in the kingdom, Asu McShawn. After that Asu claimed rights to rule the Hunter Kingdom. Now Asu’s descendant, Kevon McShawn, is the ruler of the Hunter Kingdom.
The Technik Region is a kingdom praising its scientists and focusing on developing technology. But just because it focuses on technology doesn’t mean that this kingdom should be underestimated. The border of the Technik Region is a fifty foot wall of metal that’s twenty feet thick. They also have such a vast weather system that when a tornado heads for the wall, the wall raises to twice its height and a second wall raises to the same height making it a hundred foot wall that’s forty feet thick. Should the tornado collide with it, the wall with withstand against the tornado disrupting it and essentially halting it altogether. The wall has two gates for each kingdom along its borders, but normally they only grant residents of the Technik Region the passcodes to these gates. An outsider can send a request for a guest passcode, which will be reviewed and either be granted or denied by the officials in the Technik Region. There are two gates leading into each of the kingdoms that borders the Technik Region, but some of the gates have become hard to locate, like the second gate for the Inferno Kingdom, because it’s at the end of the Forest of Fire. They do have subterranean tunnels into the kingdom for guests to use, but don’t think these tunnels aren’t monitored. Before anyone else have even started, they were already working on energy and plasma weapons, cyber technology, bio-mechanics, and mechanical vehicles. With cities nicknamed “the city of logic,” “the city of reason,” and “the city of intelligence” you can be sure that this is certainly a haven for some of the smartest people on the planet. They have a museum for some of their more archaic energy weapons. But weapons you’d never find in the museum that they developed is the Nova bomb and Super Nova bomb. They strictly refuse to use these bombs at any cost, knowing their destructive abilities. A Nova bomb is capable of leveling an entire city block with pure energy, while a Super Nova bomb can level an entire city. These bombs are kept in a heavily guarded vault. Iskai Yotomata was a Japanese scientist that originally came to study the unusual evolution of the people of Pangona and the power of the magik the towers holds, but stayed seeing how some of the people evolved to be much more intelligent than average. Now his descendant, Susoma Yotomata, rules the Technik Region and still upholds Iskai’s legacy by being a scientist himself. But before settling down in his role as ruler, Susoma was actually a soldier for the Technik Region’s army for awhile. Unknowingly, he has a feline nephew that was raised in the Technik Region that’s a tech assassin, using technology to make his kills more precise.
The Hades Kingdom seems like a place out of a horror movie. It’s dark, the landscape’s twisted in appearance, and it’s abundant with graveyards. In this kingdom those of the undead or kindred hail here. Necromancers are a common sight as are the walking undead. This is properly all an influence from its ruler, rather than the fact that the Tower of Shadow is located here. Hades, the Greek god of the Underworld, rules this kingdom, but he actually lets the other kingdoms go about their business as long as he can rule his. Hades eventually retreated to this continent and established this kingdom after the ancient Greek religion fell out of favor by people now referring to it as no more than mythology. He still dresses in a simple toga and appears as a black jackal to mortals, but sometimes he enjoys appearing as a skeleton in a hooded robe.
Banewrath is a kingdom purely for fighting and constantly tries to war with the neighboring kingdoms due to its ruler’s pure greed. Often the knights are dressed in black armor and every bit of their features covered up. But with its neighbors being the Hunter Kingdom, the Technik Region, the Hades Kingdom, the Illusion Kingdom, and Magi Conna, taking over these kingdoms is no easy task. One that surely the tyrant, Eldritch, never got to live to fulfill. His descendants were as cruel as him, though. But in 1995, amazingly one of his descendants was defeated by a five year old boy originally from the Dragon Kingdom that showed extreme strength. That boy, Tomas Simway, now rules the kingdom and changed the way the kingdom was. Now it’s actually a kingdom that’s like a giant amusement park. Each town dedicated to a single ride and charges $5 at its borders. The kingdom itself even bares a new name due to this change. What was once the kingdom of Banewrath is now the kingdom of Reichland. The knights that maintain order in this new kingdom are nice an helpful. A great change from their predecessors.
The Illusion Kingdom is a kingdom dedicated to magic opposed to magik, or better known as parlor tricks, magic for entertainment. All the students here learn about how to use smoke and mirrors properly and all the kinds of card tricks there are. Quite an ironic turn when considering the continent’s past. And despite the fact that they’ve shied away from the magik their ancestors used, the Tower of Light is located here. If there’s any type of magic trick, they most likely teach it here. Even the tricks that Harry Houdini used. Every five years they hold a magic trick contest, and the person who can pull off the most complicated trick successfully not only wins the contest, but also is chosen to rule the kingdom and help train the future students. Alexander Wittman started the Illusion Kingdom, but now the grandson of Harry Houdini, Comma Houdini, is the current ruler, by creating the illusion that he unsuccessfully attempted to escape from a locked coffin before it fell into a vat of what seemed to be sulfuric acid. He actually escaped before the coffin dropped and waited behind the audience to witness their reaction.
Magi Conna is the neighbor of the Illusion Kingdom, but the residents here keep true to their ancestors and train wizards, who study magik, and sorcerers, who are born with the magical abilities. They use magik and train in it, but unlike their ancestors, they no longer have elemental factions. Richard Merlinson proved to be a powerful wizard when he started Magi Conna. He also helped many wizards and sorcerers improve their abilities. He was the first headmaster of the Magic Academy that they have in the kingdom. Now his descendant, Tappa Merlinson, is ruler of Magi Conna and making sure that the training of magic explores every element possible and remains that way.
The unclaimed lands has such high rock walls that no one’s ever taken the time to climb it and explore this unowned region. But since there’s been no sign of the Tower of Earth many believe that it and the remains of the faction camp is in the area. Until it’s explored, no one will really know for sure.
In the times that these kingdoms were first started they did still war with each other off and on, but with the fall of the tyrant kingdom, Banewrath, they saw that they could finally rule their own kingdoms peacefully. The Deminot Kingdom and the Technik Region have had a long standing truce and agreement that if one’s in danger the other will come to the kingdom’s aid, but they both didn’t quite trust the Hunter Kingdom and the Hunter Kingdom didn’t quite trust them either. But finally the ten kingdoms all came to a peace agreement and resolved their issues. As a sign of this truce an annual fighting tournament has been started to test all the people willing to participate. And they even opened the tournament for anyone in the world. But not all people trust those from Pangona as there’s monsters that occasionally roam the lands and here’s people living on that very land with powers allowing them to fend of such beasts. But the saturation of magic in the atmosphere had influenced a bit of evolution in others off of Pangona unknowingly. These special outsiders tend to keep hidden, but not all. Some of these even turned to a life of crime. And it wasn’t for the fact that Pangona was a poor kingdom. No, quite the opposite in fact, as Pangona for a long time have been using copper, silver, gold, and platinum coins all across the continent making them basically richer than other continents as this was their usual currency.
But with the problem of Pangona’s internal truce, started with the fact that now its people had no reason to fear others from the other kingdoms. And this lead to some being so bold as to turn to crime as well. As a way to counteract this, the ten kingdoms agreed that their personal police force wasn’t enough. They would need a special organization of people willing to uphold the kingdoms’ peace and laws. An organization that could act as the police, have the arsenal access of the military, and be as important as any special operations squad. This was the start of the organization known as the Pangonain Bounty Hunters. Most of the people that joined were of Pangona’s own residents, but some did come from else where across the globe. One thing was for sure, though, all of these individuals that have gathered held super powers. Their base of operations was put far under the Technik Region’s town of Mechos. Mechos was the town that manufactured the mobile suits and mechs for military use should they ever be needed and by being posted inside the Technik Region, they had fast and easy access to the high-tech arsenal the Technik Region hosted.
As soon as a strong willed individual was found to act as commander of the PBH organization the forming of its fifty squads began, and with that the protection and peace of the kingdoms were returned and stabilized due to some of the fearsome and strong bounty hunters that have managed to gathered. But despite this, there were some criminals that resisted and even fought back becoming as well known as the bounty hunters themselves.
As of now there’s criminal warlords that stand out above the rest. Magnus, warlord of North America, having the powers of an electro magnet. T’Rukh, warlord of South America, who can mimic the abilities of whoever he fights against. Pitur, warlord of Asia, who has the ability to learn everything about a weapon just by touching it. Turamuk, warlord of Africa, who is an expert of firearms. Dexter Bradon, warlord of Europe, a chameleon with an advanced camouflage ability that he nearly becomes invisible. Ghost Walker, warlord of Australia, can shift into ghostly form. Saber Strike, warlord of Pangona, can become invisible fully and has mastered all bladed weapons. Talronna, warlord of the Dragon Realm, who had knowledge of advanced technologies and can uses fire, water, lightning, and earth. The PBH had assaulted the warlords during a gathering they were having. Ghost Walker was killed during the assault and Turamuk lost an arm. But the surviving warlords managed to escape. The assault was a close call for Talronna as the attack caused a tree to fall and almost crushed her. The event convinced her to quit being a warlord and her life of crime. As to this day the remaining warlords are still at large, but due to the PBH the warlords cannot return to their empires at all, now being stuck on Pangona, constantly hunted by the bounty hunters.
The continent of Pangona is a fearsome place to live, but the residents do enjoy living there none the less. The kingdoms make sure their residents remain protected. But there’s sure to be various ruins hidden throughout the continent from the Magi War and many events afterwards.

Err actually I just woke up and I'm not ready for actual real reading beyond a sentence or two. I've saved this journal to my "read later" list.
