Update on my situation...
Posted a year agoAs you all have read in this journal, I have been homeless since 01/19/2024. Getting into a shelter was and still is impossible as every shelter in a 15 mile radius of my location has been and are still at over capacity. In the time I have been living on the streets, I did the most egregious thing possible for shelter, living in a storage unit (yes, I know it's illegal and frowned upon, but I had to do what was needed) where I could get some decent sleep, stay out of the elements etc. However, living in the storage shed came at a cost, and that was the lack of bathroom, toilet, kitchen etc. I have been doing field hygiene which basically means I was using diaper wipes, body soap mixed with water in a ziplock, dry shampoo and the like.
I have been using my downtime between shifts to toss useless junk into the trash, donate most of my clothing, dinnerware and linen to shelters and charities and to sell what I can. Anything that can't be donated to shelters and charities will be unceremoniously dropped off at various thrift shops for them to do what they want.
That is what I have been doing the past four months, now for the goods news and bad news...
Bad news first...
I did suffer a major setback on my depression and mental health (lost all of my my meds for depression, ADD, blood pressure etc). In short I pretty much did things I knew was not good to do that nearly destroyed my financial health during the first couple of months being homeless (something that I have been getting counseling to keep from falling into that pit again).
Good news last...
Last week a good friend of mine for college called to tell me that his brother Mariam wants me to move into his apartment to help with expenses, something I have said yes to and will start moving in on 05/19/2024. Secondly, I did get all of my lost meds replaced (I have yet to find them) and am back to taking them to my mental health and depression back on track. I have been on a heavily reduced diet and that has shown wonderful results (went from 295lbs down to 250lbs since the start of this cursed year). I have nearly stopped all of the destructive thing I was doing, but it is going to take a couple of months for the damage I did to my health and security to start to show positive recovery. Also, Mariam has five cats, one adult and four kittens, there is one of the best remedies for depression and bad mental health. I did let Mariam know that I will most likely be going to spoil and terrorize said felines with lots of love and attention.
Now that I have a place to stay at, I can focus on putting funds aside to get a somewhat decent cash car (Need to get non car owner's insurance first) and try to raise the funds via a soon to be revived GoFundMe. I have feelers out on many different apps and websites to try to get a car extremely cheap or free. Right now I am looking for a car that runs good, has AC, windows that roll up and down, 2 or 4 doors and a radio with an AUX port and a cigarette lighter/power port where I can plug in a dual USB adapter and run a bluetooth speaker velcroed to the dash and my phone.
I am also looking for a secondary job to assist in raising funds for a car. I plan on applying at the Amazon warehouse that Mariam works at to be a delivery driver. He told me that Amazon does offer CDL training free of charge for employees that are are interested and that with the three degrees (2 associates and 1 bachelors degrees), I can most likely be fast tracked into management.
I am also contacting Veterans assistance groups to see about getting the needed help to apply for jobs in the federal sector or getting a federal job in another country so that I can become an expat down the road.
If anyone wants to help me get a car (even $4500 would go a long way as a down payment for a devent set of wheels, my PayPal is: Johnny_yuma1965[at]hotmail.com and my Kofi and my cash app: $Ainoko if anyone is willing and able to help with the funds to secure a car.
Also, I don't plan on ever getting a title loan again, as getting one from Titlemax started my downfall.
One last thing, I am set to get formally tested for Autism, ADHD and ADD before the beginning of August.

Chapter 13 couldn't stop Friday
Posted a year agoWell, chapter 13 couldn't stop Friday. I am now homeless and living on the street. Right now I am in desperate need of $70 for transportation to/from work tonight, tomorrow and Wednesday. That is for two different ride-share platforms, one will be a weekly pass ($25) with four free rides a day between 0800 and 2000 Mon-Sat), the other is with Lyft (I lave Lyft Pink which does save money on rides). The reason I am using two different ride-share platforms is that I start working at 1500 and I get off work at 0130 Mon-Fri.
I am still employed, but am working on securing a new place by the end of either this month or next month. I have been on roommate finder sites and apps looking for roommates to share expenses, apartment finders looking for a place to rent despite my eviction, and even working on getting a VA home loan to get a small, cheap single wide mobile home (1-3 bedroom, between $60,000.00 and $100,000 (yes there are mobile homes in the aforementioned price ranges)). I am also going through aid service and charity I can think of for help in securing permanent housing.
My PayPal is: Johnny_yuma1965[at]hotmail.com and my Kofi and my cash app: $Ainoko if anyone is willing and able to help with the funds to secure rides.
As a reminder I am still doing 4000-5000 short story commissions to raise the funds for the riding share platforms.
If interested in a story commission or willing to help, please drop me a PM.

Chapter 13, a reminder
Posted 2 years agoThis is my absolute last chance to keep my apartment. I need the $700 by tomorrow in order to file chapter 13 bankruptcy.. I have started the process to get back on VAHUD, but that is going to take some time. I do mean what I said below, I will have the entire $600 repaid by no later than 03/07/2024 as I do have a $460 settlement payment coming at the end of February. Please, I am begging for the assist.
After much thought, debate and soul searching I will be filing bankruptcy (Chapter 13) the only issue I have is that I need $700 to file with my lawyer which I don't have. If anyone is willing to to loan me the $700, I WILL surrender on 2/28/2024 my IIT settlement of $458 and will pay the difference from my paychecks. I just learned about the settlement (one of GOD knows how many, first I git was $58 back in June of 2024) via email that came in on 2/22/2023 and landed in my junk folder. For proof about the settlement payment, with personal info redacted...

A reminder with an update (major update at the top)
Posted 2 years agoMAJOR UPDATE BELOW
I have been on the phone with Title Max all week trying to get my car back by any means possible and was given this one and only option...
$1500 by 12/18/2023
So if anyone can send that today, I'll pay you back, do a story commission, whatever. I am desperate, I don't want to have to get another car right now. Whoever does this, I'll be in your debt.
My PayPal is: Johnny_yuma1965[at]hotmail.com and my Kofi and my cash app: $Ainoko
I will even provide proof of paying Title Max and getting my car back.
[b][i]
After finally getting caught up on my past due rent, I got bit hard on 12/01/2023. I forgot to make a payment on my Tile Max loan and my car was picked up and now I am scrambling to raise the $2500 to get my car back as soon as possible. If I can't get the funds to get my car back, I will be out of a job, a car and will quickly be homeless. I have a GoFundMe set up in order to try to raise the money to get my car back.
I am opening up for specialized writing commissions which will be delivered after the new year depending on how many I can get.
What are specialized writing commissions you ask? Simple, you send me a pick of a character of yours with a brief 5-7 sentence description (history, world etc) and I will write a 4000-5000 background and lore for that character. As many of you know, I am good at world/lore development. What I write will safe to post here or edited to posted on other sites as FA, SoFurry, Itaku and Weasyl.
If interested, please PM me and we can discuss terms. As this is critical, I will be asking payment up front with a guaranteed document (PDF, Docx, RTF and/or .text format) delivery as early as 01/15/2024 or earlier.
Edit to add (updated on 12/08/2023)...
My PayPal is: Johnny_yuma1965[at]hotmail.com and my Kofi and my cash app: $Ainoko
If I can get at minimum 60 by12/13/2023, I can get my car back 12/14/2023. Please spread the word so that I can get the commissions and get my car back Monday. I know that I have my Paypal, Kofi and CashApp posted, I would rather do the writing commissions if at all possible. All writing commissions are $55 each, paid in advance and will have a delivery date of 01/15/2024.
I have 60 slots open (when you pay, I will put your username and gallery site below)

On the the topic of being on the spectrum
Posted 2 years agoMost of, if not all of us grew up reading comics, whether before the internet became a thing or after. We all have our favorite comics online or offline. However there is one comic in particular, in fact one character in that comic that today, hits pretty much every button that they are somewhere on the spectrum. That is Calvin from 'Calvin and Hobbs' and the artist Bill Waterson. Calvin and Hobbs is that one comic that resonates with every generation no matter how old or young you are. Calvin does have ADHD, ADD and is also Autistic and Neurotypical, he is both an introvert and extrovert. There are signs that indicate that Calvin is somewhere on the spectrum:
* Short attention span.
* Hyper focus/fixation on things that he likes (Suzie Derkins for example).
* Overactive imagination.
* Aversion to certain foods/tastes/textures.
* Excessive energy.
There are more that I am unable to articulate, but feel free to add in comments.
This is worthy of discussion, have at it. Let me know if you agree/disagree and why.

My take on AI art with a little history...
Posted 2 years agoHere is my view on AI art...
MEH.
All the hate, fearmongering about AI art is just lather, rinse and repeat from the past 50+ years.
Here is some historical nonsense that anyone who has been playing the game of life since the 50s...
The first time CGI was used was in Alfred Hitchcock's Vertigo in 1958 with the use of patterns for a 2D animation.
A Computer Animated Hand by Edwin Catmull and Fred Parke is a 1972 short film that introduced 3D computer graphics, digitizing a hand with 350 triangles and polygons.
Since then CGI has been making leaps and bounds in TV and movies over the years in such movies as Star Trek the Wrath of Khan, Star Wars, Indiana Jones, Flight of the Navigator, etc. Along with the growing popularity and use of CGI came controversy as many people thought that CGI would take jobs away from actors, directors, stuntmen, set designers, etc. Now CGI is seen as a major player in movies and TV, with people who still do set designs, post production, production, character and costume development etc.
Then came digital art, which ironically started with CAD programs back in the late 60s early 70s that benefited Industrial Design before slowly getting used by artists, especially those working CGI. Once some artists started doing digital art, people were claiming that it wasn't real art as the artist was using drawing tablets and computers, putting out cleaner and sharper images.
Now we have AI, guess what? We are now going through another round of controversy over a new type and style of art, writing etc.
And guess what? We have been playing with rudimentary AI generators for the past 10-15 years without batting an eye. And now people are upset that some people are using AI to create art, mini movies, ads, stories, music and the like (furry or otherwise).
What does this mean for everyone? AI is here to stay, we might as well accept and live with it, otherwise we need to start banning CGI mini movies, art that was done by many artists here and on other sites.
I have seen other sites that do allow AI art to be posted with rules that state how many pieces can be posted in a day (or at once), what AI program was used (or from a select few) and with penalties one can get for violating the rules.
I know I am going to get some hate over this, but I don't care. I know that anyone who has been around has seen the controversies over CGI, Digital and other non-traditional forms of art and how long it took for people to accept those art forms.
Remember people, over 90% of the art, music, videos, gifs etc posted here uses some if not all of the afore mentioned forms of art and then some INCLUDING some AI assistance. It's a safe bet that movie and TV studios will be using AI to some extent in the next few years.

Posted 2 years agoLet the great 2023-24 Witch hunt begin
Posted 2 years agoI hate to say this, but after reading the new upload policy and all the updates (as of 5/24), I can honestly say that as vague as the policy is, no one on this site is safe. All someone has to do is to go through a user's galleries, file trouble tickets for everything image that they feel fall under the new policy and BAM! that user, possibly you, me or anyone is perma-banned.
I have stated many times in the past (and have earned suspensions for what I said) that that the upload policy should be be clear and solid and that there should be a clear and solid TOS for admins to abide by when it comes to reviewing trouble tickets, warning users before suspending or banning them.
Getting rid of the forums and going to discord where you can ban and discord (pun intended) and locking journals over vague rules only cements to users that you know what was done was not in the best interest of users.
I have to agree with others who have said that this community has becoming intolerant of any art style that doesn't fit with the ideal style. We need to return to being tolerant of different styles, themes, fetishes etc., welcoming new artists and accepting that everyone is different. We have become an intolerant, hateful community that has look for things to be offended at.
I came to FA when F2F died just over 17 years ago on 5/26/2006, back then the community was open, loving, caring and accepting people no matter what and who they were. I saw FA as a central meeting ground that helped new artists, writers, musicians and the like get recognized and grow.
I would love to see FA be better than it is now, possibly going back to the days of yore, but sadly that may not happen. All I can do is just watch and see what theme/fetish goes on the chopping block. The site is slowly becoming DA, Tumbler, Twitter, Live Journal and MySpace and fall among other great and now dead sites such as Yerf, Ekas Portal etc.

The worst school disaster in US history
Posted 2 years agoThe worst school disaster in US history occurred on May 18, 1927 when Andrew Kehoe detonated a pair of bombs killing numerous children and adults.
The following was copy/pasted from: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Bath_School_disaster
The Bath School disaster, also known as the Bath School massacre, was a series of violent attacks perpetrated by Andrew Kehoe upon the Bath Consolidated School in Bath Charter Township, Michigan, United States, on May 18, 1927. The attacks killed 38 elementary schoolchildren and 6 adults, and injured at least 58 other people. Prior to his timed explosives detonating at the Bath Consolidated School building, Kehoe had murdered his wife, Nellie Price Kehoe, and firebombed his farm. Arriving at the site of the school explosion, Kehoe died when he set off explosives concealed in his truck.
Kehoe, the 55-year-old school board treasurer, was angered by increased taxes and his defeat in the April 5, 1926, election for township clerk. He was thought by locals to have planned his "murderous revenge" after that public defeat. Kehoe had a reputation for difficulty on the school board and in personal dealings. In addition, he was notified in June 1926 that his mortgage was going to be foreclosed upon. For much of the next year until May 1927, Kehoe purchased explosives and secretly hid them both on his property and under the school.
On the day of the disaster, Kehoe set off almost simultaneous explosions at his farmstead and at the Bath Consolidated School. His devices destroyed the farm's buildings and ripped through the north wing of the school building. As rescuers began working at the school, Kehoe drove up to the schoolyard and triggered an explosion in his shrapnel-filled truck. The blast killed Kehoe plus four other people, and also injured bystanders.
During the rescue and recovery efforts, searchers discovered an additional 500 pounds (230 kg) of unexploded dynamite and pyrotol in the south wing of the school that had been set to go off at the same time as the initial explosions in the north wing; Kehoe had apparently intended to destroy the entire school and kill everyone in it.

Explosives recovered from under the school
There is no clear indication of when Kehoe had the idea of massacring the schoolchildren and townspeople, but Ellsworth, who was a neighbor, thought that he conceived his plan after being defeated in the 1926 clerk election. The consensus of the townspeople was that he had worked on his plan at least since the previous August. Bath School Board member M. W. Keyes was quoted by The New York Times:
I have no doubt that he made his plans last Fall [1926] to blow up the school ... He was an experienced electrician and the board employed him in November to make some repairs on the school lighting system. He had ample opportunity then to plant the explosives and lay the wires for touching it off.
Kehoe had free access to the school building during the summer vacation of 1926. From mid-1926, he began buying more than a ton of pyrotol, an incendiary explosive used by farmers during the era for excavation and burning debris. In November 1926 he drove to Lansing and bought two boxes of dynamite at a sporting goods store. Dynamite was also commonly used on farms, so his purchase of small amounts of explosives at different stores and on different dates did not raise any suspicions. Neighbors reported hearing explosions on the farm, with one calling him "the dynamite farmer".
Following the disaster it was reported that Michigan State Police investigators had discovered that a considerable amount of dynamite had been stolen from a bridge construction site and that Kehoe was suspected of the theft. Investigators also recovered a container of gasoline, rigged with a tube, in the school's basement; investigators speculated that Kehoe had planned that the gasoline fumes would ignite from a spark scattering burning gasoline throughout the basement. In the undamaged section of the school it was found that Kehoe had concealed the explosives in six lengths of eavestrough pipe, three bamboo fishing rods and what were described as "windmill rods" that were placed in the basement ceiling.
Kehoe purchased a .30-caliber Winchester bolt-action rifle in December 1926, according to the testimony of Lieutenant Lyle Morse, a Michigan State Police investigator with the Department of Public Safety.
Further preparations:
Prior to the day of the disaster, Kehoe had loaded the back seat of his truck with metal debris capable of producing shrapnel during an explosion. He also bought a new set of tires for his truck to avoid breaking down when transporting the explosives. He made many trips to Lansing for more explosives, as well as to the school, the township, and his house. Ida Hall, who lived in a house next to the school, saw activity around the building on different nights during May. Early one morning after midnight she saw a man carrying objects inside. She also saw vehicles around the building several times late at night. Hall mentioned these events to a relative but they were never reported to police.
Nellie was discharged from Lansing's St. Lawrence Hospital on May 16, and was murdered by her husband some time between her release and the bombings two days later. Kehoe put her body in a wheelbarrow at the rear of the farm's chicken coop, where it was found in a heavily charred condition after the farm explosions and fire. Piled around the cart were silverware and a metal cash box. The ashes of several banknotes could be seen through a slit in the cash box. Kehoe placed and wired homemade pyrotol firebombs in the house and throughout the farm buildings.
Day of the disaster:
Farm bombs:
At approximately 8:45 a.m. on Wednesday, May 18, Kehoe detonated the firebombs in his house and farm buildings, causing some debris to fly into a neighbor's poultry brooding house. Neighbors noticed the fire, and volunteers rushed to the scene.
O. H. Bush and several other men crawled through a broken window of the farmhouse in search of survivors. When they found no one in the house, they salvaged what furniture they could before the fire spread into the living room. Bush discovered dynamite in the corner; he picked up an armful of explosives and handed it to one of the men. As Kehoe left the burning property in his Ford truck, he stopped to tell those fighting the fire that they should get to the school and then drove off.
North wing explosion:
Classes at Bath Consolidated School began at 8:30 a.m. Kehoe had set an alarm clock in the basement of the school's north wing which detonated the dynamite and pyrotol he had hidden there at about 8:45 a.m. Rescuers heading to the scene of the Kehoe farm fire heard the explosion at the school building and turned back in that direction. Parents within the rural community rushed to the school. The school building resembled a war zone, with 38 people killed in the initial explosion, mostly children.
Eyewitnesses and survivors were interviewed afterwards by newspaper reporters. First-grade teacher Bernice Sterling told an Associated Press reporter that the explosion was like an earthquake:
"... the air seemed to be full of children and flying desks and books. Children were tossed high in the air; some were catapulted out of the building."
Eyewitness Robert Gates said the scene was pure chaos at the school:
Mother after mother came running into the school yard, and demanded information about her child and, on seeing the lifeless form lying on the lawn, sobbed and swooned ... In no time more than 100 men at work tearing away the debris of the school, and nearly as many women were frantically pawing over the timber and broken bricks for traces of their children. I saw more than one woman lift clusters of bricks held together by mortar heavier than the average man could have handled without a crowbar.
Ellsworth recounted:
I saw one mother, Mrs. Eugene Hart, sitting on the bank a short distance from the school with a little dead girl on each side of her and holding a little boy, Percy, who died a short time after they got him to the hospital. This was about the time Kehoe blew his car up in the street, severely wounding Perry, the oldest child of Mr. and Mrs. Hart."
The north wing of the school had collapsed, leaving the edge of the roof on the ground. Ellsworth recalled that "there was a pile of children of about five or six under the roof". He volunteered to drive back to his farm and get a rope heavy enough to pull the school roof off the children's bodies. Returning to his farm, he saw Kehoe driving in the opposite direction, heading toward the school. "He grinned and waved his hand," Ellsworth said. "When he grinned, I could see both rows of his teeth."
Truck explosion:

Remains of Kehoe's Ford truck after the explosion
Kehoe drove up to the school about half an hour after the first explosion. He saw Superintendent Emory Huyck and summoned him over to his truck. Charles Hawson testified at the inquest that he saw the two men grapple over some type of long gun before Kehoe detonated the explosives stored in his truck, immediately killing himself; Huyck; Nelson McFarren, a retired farmer; and Cleo Clayton, an 8-year-old second-grader. Clayton had survived the first blast and then wandered out of the school building; he was killed by shrapnel from the exploding vehicle.
The truck explosion spread debris over a large area and caused extensive damage to cars parked a half-block away, with their roofs catching on fire from the burning gasoline. It injured several others and mortally wounded postmaster Glenn O. Smith, who lost a leg and died before making it to the hospital. O. H. Bush recalled that one of his crew bound up "the wounds of Glenn Smith, the postmaster. His leg had been blown off."
Recovery and rescue:
Telephone operators stayed at their stations for hours to summon doctors, undertakers, area hospital workers, and anyone else who might help. The Lansing Fire Department sent several firefighters and its chief. Local physician J. A. Crum and his wife, a nurse, who had both served in World War I, turned their Bath Township drugstore into a triage center. The dead bodies were taken to the town hall, which was used as a morgue.
Hundreds of people worked in the wreckage all day and into the night in an effort to find and rescue any children pinned underneath. Area contractors sent all their men to assist, and many other people came to the scene in response to pleas for help. Eventually, thirty-four firefighters and the chief of the Lansing Fire Department arrived, as did several Michigan State Police officers who managed traffic to and from the scene. Michigan Governor Fred W. Green arrived during the afternoon of the disaster and assisted in the relief work, carting bricks away from the scene. The Lawrence Baking Company of Lansing sent a truck filled with pies and sandwiches which were served to rescuers in the township's community hall.
The injured and dying were transported to Sparrow Hospital and St. Lawrence Hospital in Lansing. The construction of the St. Lawrence facility had been financed in large part by Lawrence Price, Nellie Kehoe's uncle and formerly an executive in charge of Oldsmobile's Lansing Car Assembly.
Sign that Kehoe made and left on a fence at his farm, black lettering on a white painted board – "Criminals are made, not born."
During the search for survivors and victims, rescuers found an additional 500 pounds (230 kg) of dynamite which had failed to detonate in the south wing of the school. The search was halted to allow the state police to disarm the devices, and they found an alarm clock timed to go off at 8:45 a.m. Investigators speculated that the initial explosion may have caused a short circuit in the second set of bombs, preventing them from detonating. They searched the building and then returned to the recovery work.
Police and fire officials gathered at the Kehoe farm to investigate the fires there. State troopers had searched for Nellie Kehoe throughout Michigan, thinking that she was at a tuberculosis sanatorium, but her charred remains were found the day after the disaster, among the ruins of the farm. All the Kehoe farm buildings were destroyed. Kehoe's two horses had burned to death, trapped inside the barn. Their carcasses were found with their legs hobbled together with wire, preventing their escape or rescue. Investigators found a wooden sign wired to the farm's fence with Kehoe's last message stenciled on it: "Criminals are made, not born."

The American Red Cross set up an operations center at the Crum drugstore and took the lead in providing aid and comfort to the victims. The Lansing Red Cross headquarters stayed open until 11:30 that night to answer telephone calls, update the list of dead and injured, and provide information and planning services for the following day. The local community responded generously, as reported at the time by the Associated Press: "a sympathetic public assured the rehabilitation of the stricken community. Aid was tendered freely in the hope that the grief of those who lost loved ones might be even slightly mitigated." The Red Cross managed donations sent to pay for both the medical expenses of the survivors and the burial costs of the dead. In a few weeks, US$5,284.15 (equivalent to $82,431 in 2021) was raised through donations, including $2,500 from the Clinton County Board of Supervisors and $2,000 from the Michigan Legislature.
The disaster received nationwide coverage in the days following, sharing headlines with Charles Lindbergh's trans-Atlantic crossing (though Lindbergh's crossing received much more attention) and eliciting a national outpouring of grief. Newspaper headlines from across the U.S. characterized Kehoe as a maniac, a madman, and a fiend.
People from across the world expressed sympathy to the families and the community of Bath Township, including letters from some Italian schoolchildren. One 5th grade class wrote: "Even if we are small, we understand all the sorrow and misfortune that has struck our dear brothers." Another Italian class wrote: "We are praying to God to give to the unfortunate mothers and fathers, the strength to bear the great sorrow that has descent on them, we are near to you in spirit."
Kehoe's body was claimed by one of his sisters and was buried in an unmarked grave in the paupers' section of Mount Rest Cemetery in St. Johns, Michigan. The Price family buried Nellie Price Kehoe in a Lansing cemetery under her maiden name.
Vehicles from outlying areas and surrounding states descended upon Bath Township by the thousands. Over 100,000 vehicles passed through on Saturday alone, an enormous amount of traffic for the area. Some residents regarded this as an unwarranted intrusion into their time of grief, but most accepted it as a show of sympathy and support from surrounding communities. Burials of individual victims started that Friday, two days after the disaster.[58][56] Funerals and burials continued on Saturday and Sunday until all the dead were buried. For a time following the tragedy the town and Kehoe's burned-out farm continued to attract curiosity seekers.
Coroner's inquest
The coroner arrived at the scene on the day of the disaster and swore in six community leaders that afternoon to serve as a jury investigating the death of Superintendent Huyck.[59] Informal testimony had been taken on May 19 and the formal coroner's inquest started on May 23. The Clinton County prosecutor conducted the examination, and more than 50 people testified before the jury. During his testimony, David Hart stated that Kehoe had told him that he had "killed a horse" and The New York Times reported people as saying that Kehoe had "an ungovernable temper" and "seemed to have a mania for killing things". Neighbors testified that he had been wiring the buildings at his farm about that time and that he was evasive about his reasons.
Kehoe's neighbor Sidney J. Howell testified that after the fire began at the Kehoe farm, Kehoe warned him and three men to leave there, saying, "Boys, you are my friends, you better get out of here, you better go down to the school." Three telephone linemen working near Bath Township testified that Kehoe passed them in his truck on the road toward the school, and they saw him arrive there. His truck swerved and stopped in front of the building. In the next instant, according to the linemen, the truck blew up, and one of them was struck by shrapnel. Other witnesses testified that Kehoe paused after stopping, calling Huyck over to the truck and that the two men struggled before Kehoe's truck was blown up.
Although there was never any doubt that Kehoe was the perpetrator, the jury was asked to determine if the school board or its employees were guilty of criminal negligence. After more than a week of testimony, the jury exonerated the school board and its employees. In its verdict, the jury concluded that Kehoe “conducted himself sanely and so concealed his operations that there was no cause to suspect any of his actions; and we further find that the school board, and Frank Smith, janitor of the school building, were not negligent in and about their duties, and were not guilty of any negligence in not discovering Kehoe's plan.”
The inquest determined that Kehoe murdered Huyck on the morning of May 18. It was also the jury's verdict that the school was blown up as part of a plan and that Kehoe alone, without the aid of conspirators, murdered 43 people in total, including his wife Nellie. Suicide was determined to be the cause of Kehoe's death, which brought the total number of dead to 44 at the time of the inquest.
On August 22, three months after the bombing, fourth-grader Beatrice Gibbs died following hip surgery. Hers was the 45th and final death directly attributable to the Bath School disaster, which made it the deadliest attack ever to occur in an American school to date. Richard Fritz, whose older sister Marjorie was killed in the explosion, was injured and died almost one year later of myocarditis at the age of eight. Although Richard is not included on many lists of the victims, his death from myocarditis is thought to have been directly caused by an infection resulting from his injuries.
Rebuilding:
Governor Green quickly called for donations to aid the townspeople and created the Bath Relief Fund with the money supplied by donors, the state, and local governments.[12] People from around the country donated to the fund.
School resumed on September 5, 1927, and, for the 1927–1928 school year, was held in the community hall, township hall, and two retail buildings. Most of the surviving students returned. The board appointed O. M. Brant of Luther, Michigan, to succeed Huyck as superintendent. Lansing architect Warren Holmes donated construction plans, and the school board approved the contracts for a new building on September 14. On September 15, U.S. Senator James J. Couzens presented his personal check for $75,000 (equivalent to $1,169,971 in 2021) to the Bath construction fund to help build the new school.
The board demolished the damaged portion of the school and constructed a new wing with the donated funds. During the reconstruction dynamite was found in the building on three separate occasions. The James Couzens Agricultural School was dedicated on August 18, 1928.[70] The Kehoe farm was completely plowed to ensure that no explosives were hidden in the ground and was sold at auction to pay the mortgage.

FloriDUH and Disney
Posted 2 years agoOne thing I do my best to stay away from and not voice my opinion is politics and the stupidity of politicians, but I have to say something. The ultimate FloriDUH man Deshantis, just opened Pandora's box by going after Disney after the former CEO criticized Deshantis for the now infamous 'Don't Say Gay' bill by passing unconstitutional laws specifically targeting the company. I have been following this for a few months now. and am amazed that Deshantis was so arrogant that he even wrote in his memoirs book that everything he has done as of late was geared to punish the company for voicing their disagreement over what he was and doing and for being "woke". He even as did numerous legislators admitted that what was done had to be done fast and behind closed doors to keep Disney from trying to stop him until it was too late.
https://youtu.be/44cgbOWZ4OU
Disney has now filed a major lawsuit against Deshantis and Florida for violating the first amendment, violating contract law and financially hurting them among other claims.
I sincerely hope that Deshantis and his goonies get what they rightfully deserve by spending the rest of their lives in the Iron Bar Hotel and that every unconstitutional and illegal law they passed gets repealed.
If the Supreme Court does not take action on this and repeal the laws Deshantis and crew passed and remove those goons from office as well as send a strong message to other states that are thinking of trying something similar that the federal government won't stand for such actions, then we are going down a road that no sane person wants to be on.
To quote someone on another platform...
Ahhh the best fight in the world.
Fun story. Dessies team of idiots signed a contract from Disney they didn't understand. They read it, just didn't get it.
That's like not reading the fine print and signing when a dark Fae hands you a contract. Disney legal is terrifying

Dashcam Died
Posted 2 years agoWell my dashcam died after using it for about a month. Don't buy Yada products, they're worthless and in my opinion over priced. I found a 5 year old Pilot dashcam I got at the Golden Sphincter (same place that I got the Yada dashcam from.
Gonna take the Yada back to the store to return it, but since I lost the receipt I am going to have to take store credit and use that towards a new, better quality dashcam.
