Happy birthday to me.

I made the sobering decision to delete it tonight. After three hacking attempts this week alone, despite 2-step verify and multiple password changes, the damage was irreversible.

I'm not totally sure if I plan to return to Facebook at this point. It may not be worth enduring more stress than I already have.

I'm still picking my jaw off the floor after hearing the Washington Post report tonight. I lost count how many times Trump willingly broke the law, but HOLY ANUBIS the gutter is now the ceiling! Following the feds' search warrant in South Florida earlier, we now (so far) know highly classified nuclear intel was among the paperwork he stole for himself. One can assume his intent to sell that intel to the highest bidder, most likely daddy Putin.

Can we indict the fucker now?

This time I was able to rescue my current Facebook account. Forgive me for flying off the handle before, but this whole month has been holy hell for me.

I haven't been able to recover it because whoever hacked it changed the email address. Their verification process is useless, and it's pitiful they don't have live agent assistance.

Update: this morning when I attempted to view it again, the whole account was wiped clean.

You probably noticed the influx of art I receive from  alexyorim by now. From the moment I started chatting with him, our friendship has blossomed beyond expectation. We're constantly exchanging ideas, and as a result we're directly influencing each other with our craft and output. We do this out of pure love which is worth more than all the money on earth.

I'd be remiss if I failed to mention the outpouring of appreciation and feedback over the years from people in the furry fandom, pertaining to the one thing I'm good at doing.

Compared to other people who upload stuff with more whiz-bang and fanfare, I've maintained a more low-key no-frills approach: basically share what I have and the results speak for themselves.

Since discovering the fandom by accident, I've experienced my share of suicidal lows and exultant highs. My lows apparently were more dire than others, but thankfully those days are behind me.

Besides, what's a DJ without his audience?

Just learned Anthrocon got cancelled again.

"We had high hopes but with the increasing spread of more virulent COVID-19 variants and an expected plateau in the rate of vaccination efforts, at this point it looks like that it will not be safe for Anthrocon 2021 to take place. As such we must unfortunately decide that the convention will be cancelled this year.

For those of you who have deferred memberships or dealerships from 2020, those deferrals will carry over to 2022, as will hotel rooms won at the charity auction. Emails with the coupon codes for Anthrocon 2022 will be sent out at a later date. Those who had newly registered for this year need not do anything. Those memberships will be cancelled and since no payments were processed there are no refunds that need to be issued.

We are planning a virtual convention for this year. Information regarding the virtual convention will follow shortly.

Plans are proceeding for the in-person convention for 2022 which will take place June 30th - July 3rd. Our theme of Aesop's Fables will be carried over, as will our selected charity (Wildlife Works) and Guests of Honor.

We are looking forward to Anthrocon's return next year and excitedly anticipate seeing everyone in person! Together we'll make Anthrocon 2022 the best Anthrocon ever!"

....some good news at last. For years I've been living with constant chronic pain and discomfort since my Army days. Patience seemed to be on my side all this time, because as of tonight I am FINALLY registered for prescription marijuana! Such a load off my mind.

Got home an hour ago from the neurologist office. MRI scans found a slipped disc in my neck. Brain scan showed no negative results. Left a message with a specialist he referred me to.

To try and take my mind off all the craziness happening lately, I got around to digitizing laserdiscs and betamax tapes.

There's no bottom with Trump. He'll do anything to escape accountability. I just spent the night glued to the TV watching Rachel Maddow do two separate live shows reporting on the unilateral assassination of Qassem Sulaimani. Speaker Pelosi confirmed what we all assumed, that Trump ordered this killing without congressional approval. He has no idea this will lead to a full-blown war. All the while I'm thinking I could be redrafted back to the military despite my retiree status. Or maybe the news is so overwhelming and the hour is late. This is the kind of shit that keeps you up all night.

....I received my honorable medical discharge after serving 7 months and 1 day at Fort Benning, Georgia. Strangely enough, it feels like I never left. I still remember vividly the long winding roads, the DFAC (dining facility), the recreation center, the clinics, the main hospital, the morale trips, pool PT. Joining the military was the scariest and most consequential decision I've made so far. Despite that, no regrets; it had to be done. Prior to enlisting, I was at my lowest low. Lived in a homeless shelter for two months, an experience that terrifies me to this day. Lost my home, lost property, lost friends and nearly took my own life twice (once in the shelter and once in the Army).

Looking back at it now, it sounds odd but the thing that ultimately led to my enlistment was this video:
