hey hey!!!! 'member me? *giggles*

so, lots has been happening lately, which is why i haven't been around...last year, i started taking a couple new meds, and my depression got really bad...not saying how bad, but yeah, bad...started going to physical therapy for my back n hips, which did wonders...i'm no longer in pain like i was before...i still have some once in awhile, if i work a long shift, or shovel the crappy snow...but i'm not waking up in pain anymore which is awesome...

work has been crazy...anyone who's worked retail knows that september through december are crazy, and january n february are really slow...we've had floor moves, manager changes, all kinds of fun stuff goin on...

yeah, my depression has been bad, but something else happened that has made it better...we adopted a new lil kitten!!! she's 4 1/2 months old, and the cutest lil kitten in the world...i'll post pics soon of her...her name is Valentine, and she is such a lil lover!

with my depression, i haven't done much in the line of art, but now that i'm doing better i'm going to start working on more art and my jewelry...

i have lots of messages and submissions to go through, so be patient with me and i'll get to them soon as i can!

so, had my Dr apt yesterday morning. The degeneration is there, and worse, but not bad enough to be a "major" issue. guess that's a good thing, right? i have another spinal injection Jan 4 (happy new year to me), so fingers crossed that works better than the last 2. they also put in a request for physical therapy to see if that will work, and to get my spine stretched out for the injections in January. i have to wait for the PT dept to contact me about when i'm able to go. i had done PT about 5 or so years ago, and it didn't seem to help. in the meantime, they prescribed yet another pain med, a different one than before. with the side effects i suffered from the previous ones, i'm kinda scared to take it, but i can't deal with the pain much longer.

ok, so i took my pain pill around 12:30pm when i got home. for awhile, i felt the same. now, i'm feeling something i haven't felt in a long time. NO PAIN!!! my back actually feels good, as well as my hips, thighs, and knees. like, omg. you guys have absolutely no idea how wonderful this feels. keeping an eye on my depression and mood, cuz those are side effects.

today i've taken a couple also. had a migraine when i woke up, and tummy still feels icky. hoping the side effects go away soon. and yes, my depression/anxiety haven't gotten any better either *sighs*.

because it's the holiday season, and i work retail, my hours are crazy. i'm tryin to be on here more, but with working real early or real late, i don't have much chance to. hopefully in january i'll be able to work more on my art, post more, and be here more.

heard back about the MRI and Xrays. the degeneration going on in my lower spine is getting worse. i have an appt next friday at 9am to find out what the next step will be. according to something i saw online, the steps to take would be spinal injections (last 2 did not help at all), anti-inflammatory meds (none help), chiropractor (which worries me with as much wrong with my back as i have), and surgery (like 10 diff options). prayers, good thoughts, and anything else you can spare my way would be awesome. those who know me well know how much i'm stressing n freaking out over this. just can't wait to finally be able to wake up n go thru one week, one day, one hour, without being in pain.

so, my back pain hasn't been doing so well. i go every 3 months to get steroid injections in my lower spine. the past 2 times haven't helped, so i've been in a lot of pain. i have to go nov 19th for another MRI (last one was last year), to find out what is going on back there. no over the counter pain meds work, so i've been sitting every nite with either my ice pack or my heating pad. haven't been up to doing either any art or beading.

another thing is that i was put on birth control pills to get me back to how i need to be. however, as i learned with other meds, if there are side effects, i will get them. so my anxiety has been getting much worse, as well as mood swings. i'm either about to cry at the drop of a hat, or upset about something stupid. because of this, i'm scared i'm gonna lose friends and people i care about.

with the holiday season coming up, i'm scared i'm gonna lose it at work, and cry at the first customer that yells at me.

just wanted you to know why i haven't been around for awhile. i swear, once things get settled and figured out, i'll be back.

last week, my furbaby Cupcake was laid to rest. she passed away quietly in her sleep.

yeah, i know it's been awhile. the pain in my back isn't getting much better. i went last friday for my every-3-month shots (http://www.spine-health.com/treatme.....int-injections), and ended up getting 6 injections, based on the needle pricks in my back. the next day, i was reading over my papers to get my handicap pass renewed, and found what the dr wrote for the reason i needed the pass (http://emedicine.medscape.com/artic.....49036-overview). lucky me. i can't sit for too long, cuz my back tenses up. i can't stand for too long cuz my back hurts. work kinda sucks. pain meds don't do much, except for vicodin, which i can't take til about an hour before bed cuz they knock me out.

well, seeing as how it's after midnite at my house, that means it's officially my birfdays! so yay me!

i decided a couple nights ago, with the nudging of a friend, to finish something i started 20 years ago. for a creative writing class, i wrote a short story. now, 20 years later, i have edited and re-written parts of it. When i first started, i drew the illustrations to go along with the story. oh, did i mention it's a children's mystery? now that i'm into my 3D stuff, i am going to learn to make my own models of the main characters, and illustrate it that way. i am so nervous about it, i have butterflies in my tummy. never did anything like this before. i've been burned before, so i'm scared that i'll do all this work (creating the models from scratch) and have some publisher say they aren't interested. i suffer from depression, and the thing that scares me the most is that i'll do all the work, get it printed out, thee publisher won't like it, and i'll spiral down lower than i've been before.

let's see...guess i should break it down day by day...hopefully i remember each day as it happened hehe...

thursday- headed out in the sunshine over to the other side of the state. after a couple stops, i got to the hotel about the time i said i would. my friends weren't there yet, so i went across the parking lot to the mall and walked around a bit. got back to the hotel about the time they did, so much hugging ensued. we went in, checked in, and brought our stuff up to the room to unpack a bit. afterwards we met in the lobby with others from the tabletop gaming dept. we went over to a restaurant (can't remember which one hehe) for dinner. after yummies, we went back to the hotel and headed to the gaming room to get things set up. i helped check off which games were brought, which was over $4000! i saw games i had never heard of before. by the end of the weekend i learned how to play at least half of them :) we crawled into bed around 1am.

friday- had to get up at 8 cuz my friend's shift in the gaming room started at 9. there was a hotel suite that was a staff room, with free food n beverage all day. before the dealer's room opened at 2, we wandered around a bit. i tried on a corset, which i fell in love with. didn't get it cuz it was a bit much, but i can always save up for it. worked til i think 5 or 6, and had a pretty good time. they had reps from some of the different game companies there, and the guys were all really sweet. by the end of the con, 2 of them (Bill & Bill) were calling me Giggles :) my shift was 7pm-1am. a bit after 10, someone came into the room and said Tom Smith ( http://tomsmithonline.com/ ) was havin an impromptu concert for us staffers, so of course a bunch of us scampered up there! first time i had ever heard him in concert and he is awesome!!!! i definitely recommend going to his site, listening to his music, n buying a CD or 2. afterwards, a couple of us stayed back to talk to him for a few minutes. he asked if someone could help him out, and i grabbed his guitar case. he has problems walking too far at a time, so we stopped a couple times. the others i was with had to go back to their dept or someplace else, so i stayed to help out Tom. i went to his room and helped him inside, getting a couple hugs for payment :) after i made sure he was ok, i went back down to the game room, and my friends n i went up to bed, sometime around 2am.

saturday- had to be up at 8 for my shift at 9, and was up about 20 min before i had to be there! *giggles* ran to the staffers room to grab a quick breakfast, then ran downstairs to the gaming room. didn't have too many people come in to play, but i did get to see a lot of beautiful costumes, both men n women. there was a costume contest that afternoon. unfortunately one of my friends (sylvia) didn't win, but there were a lot of awesome hand made costumes, even a steampunk Santa! after my shift, i went up to sylvia's room, where she outfitted me in something cute, then had some dinner n watched the last Harry Potter movie in the staff room. before goin to the midnight ball, sylvia n i went back up to her room to start the party out right, with a few adult cocktails. yes folks, ur favorite redhead got a bit tipsy that nite hehe! we headed back downstairs to find ted, who happened to have my id and phone. he said since we had staff badges on, we wouldn't get carded. wrong! the guy at the door said i needed my id or to have sylvia go in to get it. she went in and a minute later ted came out. he took one look at ted and said "oh, you're with him? go right ahead!" apparently, he thought i was like 19 *giggles* we watched a couple magicians and a concert by the Bawdy Boys ( http://bawdyboys.com/?page_id=347 ), then headed back to the gaming room for a bit, to see how things were going. we headed to bed around 2 i think.

sunday- once again, got up almost late for my shift hehe. guess that's what happens when u go to bed at like 230am and have to be up at 8. quick breakfast in the staff room before going back down to the gaming room. someone let me borrow their corset for the day, so Ted got me all laced up. Kevin, one of the staffers on security detail, came into the room and showed us the top hat and walking stick he bought in the dealer's room. ted took one look at him and said he needed a man corset, and told me to take him to see Jess (the one that made the corset i want). so we went back into the dealer's room and found Jess. she found him a nice black corset that matched his black jeans n tshirt hehe. after Jess got him into the corset, he turned around and asked what we all thought. all us girls agreed he looked yummy (which omg he did :D ), so he bought it and left it on. we walked back into the gaming room and ted said "told ya". that nite, after dinner and relaxation, we went to another concert, this time Steam Powered Giraffe ( http://steampoweredgiraffe.com/news.html ) and Abney Park ( http://www.abneypark.com/ ). after SPG, we went back to the room so i could get out of the corset, then we went down for AP. that wasn't as good a concert, so we only stayed for part of it. we heard of a pool party with free booze, so we went to check it out. it was hosted by the pirate airship, so everyone got a skull n crossbones stamp to show they were over 18. they were also passing out eyepatches. mine has a treasure chest on it. we had a bit to drink there, then headed to the ICE (in character experience) lounge for another party. had a couple there also, then went back to the gaming room to hang. sylvia came in a few minutes later and didn't know where the parties were, so ted let her take me along n show her. yup, had another drink or 2 with her. 2 guys came up to us and were discussing the difference between lust and love, told us we looked beautiful, then left. we wandered back to the gaming room. by then they were talking about starting a rpg called "are you a werewolf" (http://www.wunderland.com/LooneyLabs/Werewolf/ ). lemme tell u, when u are playing with like 10 people plus the GM, and 8 of them are various stages of drunk, it's a blast! fun, hilarity, and some making out ensued, before i was told it was time for bed, around 2am. yes, we never went to bed before about 130 hehe.

monday- last day to get up early. breakfast in the staffer's room then down to the gaming room. all morning we took turns getting our stuff packed n loaded into our cars (checkout was noon, but the con went til 5). ted n i took a trip back thru the dealer's room before they closed, so he could get a pic of me in the corset i want. we wandered a bit before goin back to the room. around 4 we started cleaning up the room, getting the games checked back in, and loaded back up in the plastic tubs they came in. i was going to join them for dinner afterwards then head home, but a call home told me there was a major storm headin in. unfortunately i had to say goodbye to my friends, even tho i didn't want to. ted walked me out to my car, and i headed home. after almost 3 hours, i finally made it home.

had an amazing time, met lots of new friends, hung with friends i made before. they said i was really nice n great at my job, and want me for next year. actually, what i was told was i'm now theirs. hehe the whole weekend i had people tellin me i was anywhere from 19-22, which made me squee!

sorry it took me a few days to finish this. been having back pains off n on all week, plus a friend from that con passed away monday nite (i saw her monday morning/early afternoon). i don't deal well with death ever since my dad's last year, so i've been kinda messed up a bit, specially since my friends all live on the other side of the state.

back from WSE...had an AMAZING time!!! will post a longer journal about it tomorrow...met famous people, hung with friends, made new friends, had a blast...and yes, took pics!

well, in about 3 hours, i'm heading to the other side of the state for World Steam Expo, the steampunk con here in michigan ( http://worldsteamexpo.com/ )...have everything packed, just need to do a few last minute things around the house before i head out...also have to get gas, cuz i don't plan to walk the 2 1/2 hr driving trip!

will take lots of pics, and will make sure pics are taken of me! i shall be in steampunk-ish garb, well, as -ish as i could make it from what clothing i had in my closet already...talk was that i'm possibly getting a corset, so we'll see...

was just starting my day at work, counting down my register til, when i felt the worst back pain ever...i got muscle spasms so bad i couldn't stand, sit, or move without pain...my best friend, that works in my dept with me, drove me to urgent care...they gave me a shot of muscle relaxer n a pain shot...i got prescriptions for muscle relaxer pills n anti-inflamatory pills...gonna finish my lunch n try to lay down n get some rest, since the shots are makin me a bit sleepy...

sunday i was put into a real corset...unfortunately, it was a bit big on me, so the bewb area wasn't quite right...first time wearing a true corset, and lasted about 10 hours or so in it...not too bad, altho i was breathing a sigh of relief (literally!) when it was taken off...played a few games of Lupus in Tabula in the sponsor's lounge at nite...

monday was kind of a sad day, cuz i had to say goodbie to friends i wouldn't see for awhile, and a few i wouldn't see til next year's FCN...had to drive home in a wind storm, with off n on rain...was sooo not good...but a text from someone tellin me i was strong helped me get thru it...those who know me know i can have panic attacks when i'm stressed, and i was stressed driving thru the wind that kept movin me around on the highway...

got probly 5-6 hours of sleep each nite, if i was lucky hehe...no matter what time i went to bed, i ended up getting up at 730-8am each morning..

all in all was an awesome weekend, and can't wait for next year!
