A final farewell
Posted 12 years agoThis is more of an update to my previous journal. I know I've said that I would finish my latest submission (the Mithras pic) and possibly do one more art piece. However, everything is beginning to change and it feels like I'm transitioning into a different phase in my life. My interests have completely shifted and life just got a lot busier as finals approach and I proceed with a paid internship. I've attempted to sit down a couple times to work on finishing my latest submission, but I just can't seem to do it. It's as if my art drive is nonexistent now. I recall a time when I absolutely had fun with drawing and the finished products always had the reward of self-gratification. Nowadays it just feels like each art piece I do is more like a chore, and there's no sense in trying to force myself either as I would most likely put only enough effort to have it done as soon as possible. Therefore, I believe it would be most prudent of me to simply leave things as they are right now and call it quits. Who knows, maybe I just need a long break from art, or maybe I really am done with art as I move onto other things. Only time will tell...
I want to apologize to those that I told about finishing my latest submission as well as working on another pic. It feels like breaking a promise I made and I hate it. However, what I will do instead is replace any unfinished censored pics I have in my gallery with uncensored versions. I certainly don't want to leave the art scene without having done that at the very least. The scraps will remain the same of course.
Again I apologize to everyone about my sudden departure from art and the inevitable increase in inactivity for this account. However, it's not really the end and I will continue to browse this account from time to time and respond to messages. Until then, I bid everyone a final farewell.

Inactivity for an indefinite amount of time
Posted 12 years agoI type this journal with conflicted emotions, but I feel like I need to do this. I am not leaving the furry scene or fandom per se, but I will no longer be an active participant. I still appreciate the furry culture and will always have a furry side to myself. However, over the years I've come to realize that I want to be a part of something where I can not only socialize on the internet, but also socialize IRL and be able to openly say to everyone (like my friends) that I am a part of this. Furry unfortunately does not allow for all of this under my circumstances. I've recently been finding myself being drawn to something that I've been a part of already even before I discovered furry. That is none other than anime and manga.
Anime and manga are what made me want to draw in the first place, but after discovering furry I had a passion to draw furry characters only and never really did draw anything anime related. Now that passion is nearly gone as I find myself no longer excited to post my art and continuously manage my furry accounts. I now have the urge to be a part of a group IRL with close friends that have similar interests. I do have a few furry friends that I talk to on a regular basis online, but that's about it. I can't simply go to Starbucks or something and hang out with them like I want to, nor attend a furry con with them that I couldn't be arsed to try make traveling arrangements for. Anime cons do happen in my area though, and I've recently joined an anime club and made friends there that will be going to these cons. It's not like I want to cosplay now or anything like that, but I figure it would be fun simply to hang out with others at these events.
All this has led to my decision to depart from the furry scene as a furry artist for the most part. Hell, I don't even know if I'll continue to do art at this point, but if I do it'll probably have more focus on anime. If that happens then it doesn't make sense to keep uploading my art onto a site intended for furry art. If anything I'll make a DA account or something to post my art, and it'll probably be on the cleaner side if I ever want to show my art to my friends. That being said though, I find it preferable if I keep my new art separate from the furry art I've done so far, so I will most likely not be linking my DA account or whatever to this account. For those that want to keep following me though despite the change, you can note me here and I'll make sure to send you a note about my new account if and when I create it.
Anyway though, I want to thank everyone who has shown support and enjoyed my art. I really appreciate it and I hope to continue to keep in contact with those who are still interested in keeping in touch. As I said, I'm not leaving the furry scene completely so I'll be checking this account from time to time just to see what's up. My latest submission, the Mithra pic, will be the last submission I finish for this account. After that I will leave everything as it is for those that want to find my furry stuff.
Laterz.

I've made my decision...
Posted 12 years ago...regarding commissions.
I have decided not to accept them. It has become too much of a hassle to try and figure things out and I realize I would have to devote a significant amount of time out of my daily life to pull this off. I apologize to those who were looking forward to commissioning me, and I want to say that I am forever grateful and truly appreciate your interest in my work. It is not that I am slowing down on art or have no interest in drawing for people... Rather, I do have other priorities and I wish to treat art only as a hobby that I can indulge in at my own leisure due to the time constraints. However, this isn't to say that I am set on this for the rest of my art days. Who knows, I may change my mind in the future...
That's all for now though. Peace.

Possibly accepting commissions
Posted 13 years agoThis is not a journal to indicate that I will be accepting commissions, only that it's a possibility. I view my art as a hobby, and I will never treat it as an actual source of income. However, it was suggested to me that I could make some money on the side for my efforts. Considering how I no longer enjoy doing requests, the money should provide me some incentive to draw for other people. Here is a possible breakdown of what my commission info would look like...
Sketch: $1
I currently have no means of offering an actual sketch work as a commission piece, as my current method of drawing sort of bypasses this stage. However, once I do work something out, I reckon that's the price it will go for. I have no examples to show as of yet.
Digitally Inked: $2
All images I do so far are scanned first and then digitally inked.
Some examples...

Full Colored: $6
This includes shading, highlights, everything in what I would deem as a finished product.

Backgrounds: $0-$2
[NOTE: This mainly applies to full colored commissions. For sketches and digitally inked commissions, a background consisting of line work is possible. Depending on the difficulty, such backgrounds may be free or charged an additional $1]
Any background that is either plain or has simple gradients are free.
Examples...

Any background that is not deemed as plain or abstract (such as a background with clouds) will go for $1. For backgrounds that have landscapes and simple structures, the price may be increased to $2 depending on the difficulty.

http://www.furaffinity.net/view/6026943/
I am willing to do backgrounds of interior rooms with furniture and all that, and they will go for $2. However, I will not be offering them until I get some practice in doing such backgrounds. For backgrounds that include buildings, vehicles, or anything detailed and complex in nature I will not be offering, as I feel I do not have the capability yet to do those kinds of backgrounds.
Characters: $0-$1
The first two characters are free. A third character will be charged an additional $1. This is assuming that all three of the characters' bodies are mostly in view in the image. Any special cases can be discussed. I will not draw more than three characters in a given image. These characters can be nude or clothed.
When I reject...
If I feel a particular character or background setting is too difficult to draw (e.g. full body tattoos with small intricate designs everywhere) for the prices I offer, then I will refuse to do the commission. Also, I will not draw certain fetishes, so that needs to be discussed with me. Here is an example of this.
Other considerations...
Because I feel these prices are pretty dirt cheap, I expect some leniency in terms of when I complete the commissions. Because I put my best effort into a particular piece by taking my time with it, I should be given at least 3-4 months to finish a full colored commission. I should take less than a month for sketches and digitally inked commissions, but another month may be needed depending on how busy I am. I also do not expect too many changes to be made to the commission. For digitally inked and full colored commissions, I will send a sketch version first, and that will be the time to make any necessary changes. Once it is past that stage, I expect no complaints in this regard.
Again, this is just an idea of what I may be offering and I'm still working on the details. I may end up deciding not to take commissions if it turns out to be too much of a hassle to figure things out.
You can note me if you have further questions or if you are interested. I will most likely start with the ones who note me with interest first if I do start accepting commissions.
