Almost out of Afghanistan

The people here are nothing more than cavemen with cellphones that are subservient to a book written thousands of years ago that many of them can't even read.
I have been blown up and shot at, treated causalities on the battlefield and have earned the right to be called "Doc".
I have experienced a wide barrage of emotions out here from anger, to depression, to outright joy. I have been dumped by my ex and already have someone in my life who is supportive, loving, and selfless.
Mainly I am ready to leave the shitty country and get back to my life, get some god damn real food, and get back to my friends.
Only a handful of weeks left. Praise Allah!

Military Fur

Another Hurdle Gone
Posted 14 years agoMet with my recruiter today. Signed up for 25S, Satellite Comm Ops. It has a $6k bonus, and the Army will be paying my college debt in full. I go to MEPS for my physical next week. My ship date is 11/15/2011. I am both excited and nervous right now.
ASVAB Complete
Posted 14 years agoPassed my ASVAB with flying colors. I qualify for EVERY SINGLE job the Army offers. I meet with my recruiter next week to pick jobs and get my background check completed. I'm looking forward to getting onto the next stage of enlistment.
At A Crossroads
Posted 14 years agoSo, I made weight at my recruiter's office last week (Started out at 235lbs and now am at 195lbs). I am now scheduled to take the ASVAB and have my physical done at MEPS in early May. Next week, I am ordering some jogging shoes and working on building up my tolerance for running through the "Couch to 5k" program. I am pretty psyched but at the same time I am nervous as hell. I would like to meet other military furs, make new friends, and get some much needed support.

I am back...

I took a bit of a vacation from Furry.
Here's a update....
My mother, someone I am very close to, had a very stubborn form of cancer. It required her being hospitalized and put on a feeding tube, it took a great deal out of me emotionally, so I retreated, dealt with important family issues, and got my shit together. Now, I am back and feeling great about myself, and where my life is going. This year I plan on making a very important step in my life, I plan on either joining the US Army or the US Air Force ROTC when I return to OSU in the fall.
I wanted to take the apologize to some of you, I know I can be a complete shithead, I can be rude, abrasive, loud, and direct. I am sorry, I never learned to love myself. If you can't love yourself, you can never love others. I have a great group of friends here and now I got a lot of making up to do. I love you all, thanks for being a friend to me.
