That was way more fun then I expected. I'm used to going to videogame based cons where I just binge out on games and stuff, this was my first furry con where I only really knew like 3 people going into it. Of course there was Salkitten, and Hades going into the con.

But getting to meet and hang out with Pinkushika and Aspen was super fun, just having drinks in the hotel with them and Hades while chit chatting and looking at all the suiters walking around.

Or having Sal take me around SCAD and the city in general plus super delicious Mexican food.

It was just a really fun time, I had a hand full of people compliment both my Kigu and me which sent my heart a flutter. (I got water at a fountain and someone said my Kigu was cute invoking a slightly high pitched eee of delight, which they said was also cute invoking more squee's from me because jfc it's so nice to get a compliment once in a while ;u; )

There was also the fun of wandering the con with my black necromancer grimore full of magic cards. A lion in the elevators started clicking his claws while eyeing the book, he was even wearing mage robes to which I scolded him, "No Lion, you will NOT take otters book."

All in all it was super super super super fun and I can't wait to see all these people again someday even if it... might be a long time with the chaos of me having to move and stuff now @_____@

weee otts first fuzzy con o uo

O wO Magfest magfest maaaaagfeeeeest.

Not exactly a fur con but its all videogames and videogame related things. It's like, the best part of an animecon for me but spread out over top everything with a very liberal drinking policy in the swankiest hotel I've ever had the delight of being around.

I hope everyone is having a good time. Even if you aren't celebrating you still have new years on the way to party it up!

Me however, well, my family is big.

Like really big.

So Christmas eve is with dads side, we see his parents, his sister their kids. My mom and aunt mind meld, I swear they gift each other the same thing every couple of years because they have the same cooking and house keeping habits it's adorable. In this years case they both bought me a food processor for that matter XD

That was just the first day.

Christmas day with the family family. Mom, stepdad, and sister, of course we saw starwars for the Christmas Movie which has become a tradition, stepdads sister joins us and once again starwars Rogue One made me cry at least 3 times.

Spend the night with Stepdads family, scream at the TV some because BALTIMORE RAVENS WHY!? WHERE DID THE DEFENSE GO 4TH QUARTER PLEASE ;____; I really wanted my free dunkin donuts today....

But now comes the long run.

Moms side of the family comes in from West Virginia, Massachusetts, and a few chunks of Maryland. Gonna head out, buy the stuff to make a nice Tuscan soup and a copy of FF15 for myself before going over to see them today. Then see them at my one aunts house tomorrow, then see them again on Wednesday before they all go home.

And there will be many board games, plenty of booze, and good times for all.

I feel like a zombie shuffling through motions today.

Between the weather, the Dishonored 2 patch breaking my game, the lack of anyone online anywhere it seems I just feel like a hollow little shell tumbling through the day. Roommates sister is in town, they invited me out to have Sushi for dinner (Bless roommates for getting me sushi ;___; ) But outside of one short chat during dinner about World of Warcraft I just keep feeling kinda... meh?

I spent most of the morning in bed playing Pokemon refusing to get up and face the cold till hunger demanded lunch times. But beyond that I've just sat around troubleshooting broken games, a phone with too much data on it (btw Telegram is a cheeky little shit, I can view all the data its saving in my phone but not on windows).

But through all of it I'm just kinda.... bleh?

 Salkitten is in town for the weekend crashing at my place. We're hitting up all the DC galleries and history museum, as well as the zoo. Our cat loves it practically melted from all the pets between us.

:3 I promise to water and feed the wild pidge and get them back to you folks after a weekend of adventures.

So a co worker is on vacation. That means Wednesday, my day off, the person who would close the help desk isn't here.

So I ask who's closing because I'm not here tomorrow "oh well can you?" I explain, no I won't. I'll open and work a day shift but I have plans on Wednesday nights. So they say fine come in at 7am but they don't say when I'll be off.

So I roll up 7 am and sit down. Not five minutes later the co worker who I rhought was going to work a short close comes rolling in 7am.

So who the hell is working the 7-9pm now be side if it's me I'm going to be a right raging bitch the whole day because I did not just agree to fucking 14 hours of this.

I haven't been to a furcon I want to go to a furcon.

But what I do go to, and will always go too.

My laptop died two weeks ago and my car just died today. Happy fucking Holiday's because mine are officially shit.

So whats the worst thing that's happened to you during the Holiday month?

Shamelessly admit I cry every time I see a trailer and the big orchestra starts playing Binary Sunset in some form or another. I feel like I'm a little itty bitty Otter watching Luke for the first time staring at those twin suns again. Playing with star wars figures and legos dreaming how cool it would be to wield the force.

My family is frantically trying to make plans to see it as a group. My cousin and his sister have already agreed they're seeing it together like they did as kids and bringing his sons along for the ride to get them started on series.

God I can't wait.

This is my Lord of the Rings, this is what shaped so much of what I enjoy in sci Fi and fantasy. And I can't wait to see it on the big screen again.

The move is mostly done I just need to go back over then next three days to my parents house to collect the last few things I didn't pack or fit into my car along with getting my desk dresser and shelves.

Also gota buy a new bed but we just need to get time to do it. Till then flopping on a queen air mattress won't be so bad!

Its nice to finally be out of the family home. Sipping beer in my own place with friends while playing ps4 to pass the time.

Ican't post this in a normal public space, my sister would see it and it would crush her.

I'm very bad with dates, I want to say my dad passed away March 22nd, but I always forget the year, 2005, 2006? After he was gone we finally got our 2nd dog Eva to keep the house a bit more lively and give my mom some peace of mind. She was a floppy german shepard my sister could carry around like a baby. Low and behold she was just coming off a cold hence why she was so calm and docile.

It's been about 10 years since that.

When I woke up this morning I did my usual routine of stepping over her walking out my bedroom door as she often fell asleep at the foot of whomevers room she chose that night. Sometimes mine, sometimes my sisters / parents as their doors face each other. I remember, I think I bent down and scratched her ear causing her to look up but she didn't jump up to follow me downstairs and beg to go outside. Maybe because she was sleepy?

I didn't think anything of it when I came home and she wasn't jumping at the window, I figured both cars where gone, maybe mom took her to the vet to get her teeth looked at since she hadn't been eating as much lately. Well it was worse. As the day dragged on I started to worry. Why where both mom and Dave's car gone if they where both possibly working? I saw a note about getting the dog in for blood work, call the psych doc, some thing about a movie night. I figugred the dog was staying at the vets. But even that couldn't convince me. So I started poking arou the house fearing I would find her in some corner. alas I did not. This didn't put my mind at much more ease.

About 30 minutes ago my family got home, they called me down to the garage where Dave was having a smoke, mom was in tears and I got the news.

We lost our 2nd German shepard to cancer. This time it wasn't a slow process but a sudden out burts of symptoms and sickeness over the past two weeks. Mom had to make a choic and it wasn't much of a choice, they had to put her down. Fluid had built arou her hearts. She couldn't breath, didn't eat, her gums where going white. There was nothing they could do and the doctor themselves where in tears after having come back from a 6 month hiatus after loosing one of her own animals.

My sister has a tryout for marching band tomorrow at ECU, we aven't told her. But she was fussing over Eva every day before she left. I'm not as big a dog person as she was but I liked our stupid over sized puppy that was so happy to see people barking with joy that you thought she was trying to attack. Well if by attack you mean jump on your once before flopping over for belly rubs then sure, yeah, she was a killer queen of evil then. Really she was just a giant puppy who helped my mom and sister cope thorugh a really bad time where I spent most of my days playing lacrosse and running myself into the the dirt to get by.

The worst part of it all is the regret of not spending just a few more minutes with her this morning.
