An open message to someone who I can't note.
Posted 13 years agoThis was intended to be a private message to someone who disagrees with my opinion, but they blocked me over a difference of opinion... Which I find childish. This is intended to give them a way to read my response, and hopefully is vague enough that noone will know who it's for except the person that it's for. I am not intending to create drama, I disagree entirely with people blocking because of silly overreactions, instead of trying to actually work a petty disagreement out. It shows a poor personality on the blocking party's end, and only causes unnecessary drama.
"First I'd like to say it's bad form to discuss disagreements in shouts, particularly *3* of them.
Secondly, No, I do not attack everything you say. I am not attacking you, either, and the only thing we've had disagreements on is sewing techniques. This I think was only under discussion twice now including the current disagreement.
Third, You did NOT say just their sewing was shit. You said their entire craftsmanship was shit, which I completely agreed with you on, however I disagreed with your more blanket statement of one thing that they did wrong: "Hand stitched, not serged". That statement gives a complete opinion of serging being better than hand stitching, and I just wanted to explain again why this is a bull opinion. Both can be good. Serging can be done badly. Neither is more professional than the other, it is the PERSON that is professional or not.
I completely agree with you that THEIR sewing was shit and unprofessional, especially for $1000. I'll admit that you have the upper hand for suit quality on that person, even though I disapprove of cutting the edges of the fur like that because it can contribute to a more visible seam, though most of your seams are solid colour changes anyway so it doesn't matter too much.
There are lots of things I do not comment about, and several times where I've tried to make as nice a comment as I could, in particular when you were asking people for advice what to do, and my opinion was take your time to figure yourself out before you figure out other people's problems.
I'm not, and have never been, attacking you, if anything I'm criticising your blanket statement that, objectively, DOES state in a way that says "all serging is better than hand-stitching".
Please understand that a difference of opinion does not mean an attack, especially when I try to word things in as polite a way as possible. I say nothing against you, or your work, and I even agreed with you. That's not an attack, and I would appreciate that you don't post defamatory remarks on my page. If you want to talk to me about an issue you have, send me a note, because nobody needs stupid drama."

For all my commissioners and watchers
Posted 13 years agoI know I've been inactive of late. I'm in my final term of college and this year has been kinda... all over the place. I've been unable to work on the pictures I owe but I know I owe some pics, I've just not had time AT ALL.
I plan to be working on these as soon as this term is over, assuming I don't get a job right away that is.
I plan to not take commissions on this account indefinitely, that's right... NO MORE COMMISSIONS ON THIS ACCOUNT.
Why? Because I haven't finished ones I have now that are almost a year overdue.
If it's any consolation, at least now I should be better at the colouring and hopefully produce a much nicer image in the long run.
I really want to be done these =\
for now, All digital work is closed, suit parts etc are closed, traditional work will remain open because I can do traditional really quickly.
anywho.
Just an update. Life is hectic.

Help an awesome friend who's in dire need!
Posted 13 years ago
Because of this, she will probably have to get rid of her bird. One of her best things in life, and her parents don't give a shit. Unfortunately she doesn't have much of a choice.
Today, that's been made much more insignificant.
Her parents are filing to take custody of her 7-year-old daughter.
Above all else, Kez loves her daughter more than anything else of hers. This is a shocking turn of events, because not only is she now kicked out from her house and living in her car, she has to stay in the area until the court date, near the end of July, if she wants to fight it. She has a job, but it's not nearly enough to pay for hotel rooms or anything like that.
What I'm asking for here, is if there are any furs in the Kansas City area, or more accurately, Lebanon area, who can offer some form of help, be it a couch to sleep on, a shower, anything that can help her survive the next month until the court date.
I find this exceptionally disappointing because about 2 months ago her house burned down and she had to move in with them, and they knew this. She's still struggling to get back on her feet from that event, where pretty much most of her daughter's stuff burned (luckily her stuff was in a separate building). This is incredibly cruel of them :(
If you know someone, please spread the word.
If anyone can help with a few extra dollars towards a night's stay at a hotel or gas to drive somewhere, her paypal is keziah84[at]ymail.com
If only she were closer to me, or any of our friends... Again please spread the word, any help makes a difference.
Thank you...

Hokay, updateforeals.
Posted 14 years agoSo, I'm back from Feral! (yays!), and halfway through this boring-and-long-ass-schoolday-from-hell, so I figured I'd do my update now, cause otherwise I'm going to fall asleep ;_;
Feral! was awesome, met some new fuzzies, and hung out with a bunch of awesome people! The most memorable people I got to hang out with were
edolon Ifer on dA
eevachu
3245kat Orsaion (BARON VON NECKBEARD THE THIRD OF THE CORNISH NECKBEARDS) OF COURSE, POTOROO, NAYO, TIMBER, GROWLER, THE WHOLE FERAL STAFF...
khaz
pyrex
mimibadger um um um
question-mark (this guy is just crazy) and um... SHIT I CAN'T REMEMBER NA- OH AND OF COURSE
arbitraryplaid and um... crap. Well, I met
kyell and his husband kit, as well as
blackteagan whom I gave lots of beer to... I promise it wasn't my intention to get her drunk or anything, I bought 6 beers to trade for arts in my hardcover book of nordguard across thin ice that I bought for my bf... and I didn't know what to do with them all... So I gave her all of them (except one which arbitrary was given lol)... and um. yeah! I don't like kayaking... much love to canoeing though. only went swimming once... it was wayyyyyyyyyy too hot and humid for me the entire time ;_; except when it rained 8'D on the sunday.
I very much enjoyed having conversations with people and giving hugs and homg so many more people I met that I can't remember the names of to mention here ;_;
After, I slept well the first night... monday was a laaazy day, had some noms with eilowny and zoom last night where we got ginormous desserts... ;_; and then um. Bought my textbooks online... waiting for the bike shop to be open (thursday at noon >:C) to ask about how picking up a bike works...
OH so last quote I got was from a company that does insurance ONLY for motorcycles and as such has an amazing method of charging insurance that makes it much more manageable and affordable. they like to renew plans at the beginning of the year, so I only have to pay a pro-rated insurance rate for the last 5 months of this insurance year, and then it'll be much smaller payments over 7 months next year 8D so much more affordable! :)
Definitely getting a CBR250RA, bf is paying for the upgrade to ABS on the bike because it's like $500. so bike after taxes and thingies will be like $6500... YAY FINANCING need to apply for that... how can I do that by saturday hmm... might need to wait till next weekend D8 but I don't want to ;_;
anyway that's pretty much my update...
I have 4 digital picture commissions to work on, a couple speedpaints, um... and some costuming stuff (feets for scales, suit for gade).
I hope life goes simply and straightforward this term D8

Death
Posted 16 years agoSo, um.
Apparently, from what has been said in my usual IRC channel of choice... A friend of mine committed suicide a few days ago, and was discovered hanging by his doorframe today, upon prompting by his boyfriend to his roommate to check in on him.
I had no idea that this person was this level of unstable... I was decently good friends with him, I believe I actually owed him art, so I feel bad about never getting him that... We had talked plenty about computers, throwing around ideas of one day owning a computer repair/build store thing. We had chats about workplaces. And the best part? My friends live in a small house about a 20 minute walk from mine, which isn't that far considering how huge my city is.
I'm strangely on and off affected by this. I haven't until this day encountered a personal death of a friend that I knew in real life. I think eventually my mind will push it to the back and I'll forget about it... eventually... But I doubt that that will be any time soon, especially since he was a figure of the local furry community, not terribly well known, but a good guy. a bit creepy, sometimes, and a bit overreactive when it comes to anger... but he was good to talk to sometimes.
I was kinda wondering where he'd been of late, too. Wanted to talk to him about some more computer stuff. Kinda worried about my other friends, though, a lot of the furs on IRC are rather close online... I'm worried about some of my friends. Can't do anything about things now. Back to the usual furry drama in 3...2....1....
*hugs*
