(My Attempt at) Dishonored Review
Posted 13 years agoWell, after spending several days doing nothing, I thought I'd put my blog to some god use. :3
So here's an ATTEMPT at a review of Dishonored.
In Dishonored, you play as Corvo Attano, the Lord Protector, the highest bodyguard sworn to protecting the Empress. After returning from a trip asking for aid in dealing with the city of Dunwall's rat plague, the Empress is assassinated, her daughter kidnapped, and all the blame pinned on you. so, do you exact bloody revenge against all who stand in your path, or do you look for a cleaner solution?
I say do both. When you play the game two different ways, one after the other, you'll realize a serious difference.
Killing people increases the number of plague rats, plague victims, and, obviously, creates a darker final outcome.
In essence, everyone will hate you. Even the people you liked from the start.
merely rendering enemies unconscious, however, and finding other ways to eliminate targets, obviously has the opposite effect. Each of these is most noticeable in the final level.
Lethal: stormy night, the people there are already beginning to fight amongst themselves.
Nonlethal: somewhat cloudy skies, calm seas, and a chance of brilliance.
Now, the game doesn't MAKE you pick either way (although, trust me. you do NOT want a swarm of 30 rats near you. Ever.) but it does emphasize both ways at the same time.
Street filled with guards? the most obvious choice is to kill them all, but there are side paths for practically every situation. air ducts on the sides of building, small tunnels a rat can get through (play the game. you'll know what I mean.), and a whole lot more. That's what I love so much about this game. It doesn't just give you choices, it emphasizes to think critically, and choose the road less taken, if taken at all.
The game is VERY steampunk, as well. you'll see tanks of whale oil practically everywhere, as well as a retractable sword (don't. I already know what you're thinking. pull your mind out of that rat hole.), crossbows, pistols, mystical abilities...oh wait, that's not steampunk. still amazing, though.
sure, you can go around, being a badass, and shooting everyone in the face (crossbow or pistol. take your pick), or you can be the pacifist, which, in my opinion, leads to some better methods of elimination.
Well, more poetic justice against them, anyway.
Final opinion? A great stealth/adventure/shooter/action game. Gives you plenty of choices, a weird genius who doesn't know how to talk to girls (poor Piero. someday someone will come along.)
I say...4.5 Stars out of 5. :3
Also, I'd really suggest this game to any of you looking for something like this. It will NOT disappoint.
Can get it on Steam, Xbox, or, if you're feeling up to running that sort of risk, there are other ways to download it. not that I suggest those, naturally, but that's all up to you.
If you're not entirely sure about wanting the game, here's something that might help, if you're looking to cut loose and cut everyone to pieces.

oh, and do let me know how I did for my first attempt at writing a game review. Hopefully I could get better at it, maybe even get some money off of it. But not just yet.

Posted 13 years agoKinda inactive on here, aren't I?
Sorry, i grew up with dA. But I'll start soon on posting my stuff from there to here.
anyway, onto the message that I copied from dA...
So I kinda realized, you know?
What AM I doing?
I'm spending 5 hours a day, if not more, playing video games that don't even matter.
I should be writing, even exercising. But I'm not. It just kinda hit me.
I'm playing Skyrim and Dead Space 2 and other games that I've played a million times over. What's the point in that?
I've jotted down a few inspirational quotes to help get myself started, but I'll jsut give you guys the whole website.
http://www.marcandangel.com/2012/07.....wering-quotes/
hope that helps anyone in a similar predicament such as me. or...any sort of issue where stuff needs to be done.
Now, I know a while ago, I mentioned a Skyrim story.
and a pokemon vore adventure.
and an MLP story.
And some gift works for some awesome people.
I'm actually gonna start on all this stuff, but for the skeptical ideas (MLP and Skyrim), I could use some help. have someone whose played the game/knows the show, can get into the mindsets of those respective universes, you know?
Besides, having someone play Derpy (or Ditzi. I kinda prefer Ditzi since I heard that name) while I'm playing a ponified (secret spoiler, hush) would be kinda awesome.
Thing is, most of the people I know either don't watch the show (enough), or don't want to roleplay this sort of thing.
or both.
So if you guys know anyone who'd like to do something like this, either Skyrim or MLP, that'd be a great help. :3
Well, I'm off to go write the equivalent of a scientist's research summary on Flammies.
And if you know Flammies like I know Flammies, you know that might take a while. ;3
I'll see you guys later, then.

Yee~!
Posted 13 years agoDunno why I'm suddenly deciding to put journals from dA onto FA as well. oh well. worth a shot, right?
I've been playing Xbox. a lot. too much, actually. ;A;
I got a kinect for christmas, and...well, that says it all, doesn't it? XD
Dance Central 3, Kinect sports, and as of this morning, some Child of Eden.
YUS.
Also got Assassin's creed II. not bad at all. WAY better than the first, in my opinion.
first was alright, but the second?
WHOA. money? dyable robes? purchasing weapons? more collectables that still make no sense (feathers vs flags)? Pages that are actually a map, and that I was working on?
I don't even have words.
anywa,y I was playinga bit of skyrim this morning, as well. yay for being an imperial bard with no armor, one sword, and plenty of alteration and illusion spells. sneak attack someone, stab them in the back, repeat...instant skills and easy kills. :3
oh, also. Yesterday, my dad and I went out of town. I brought $80 and a $25 Gamestop gift card with me.
came back broke.
but it was worth it, i tell you!
Mass Effect Trilogy, Doom 3 BFG edition, and then Child of Eden.
shame i only have a week left of vacation. and some work to do for school...
damn you, Biology. I sincerely damn thee.
Anyway, when I saw Jenkins, my first reaction was, "Lol, his name is Jenkins? better not get killed..."
and then he did and I was sad. ;A;
I honestly bought the trilogy just to buy it, and i had no idea what I was doing.
Asari? Turian? Salarian? Elcor? Keepers? Geth? Space? I didn't know any of this jazz. I don't even know how long I played my new games...2 hours, 4? maybe 5? the only time i checked the clock was at 10-something and then 2:45. not sure when i stopped playing Doom 3, and went to ME instead.
But when I opened the box, some math happened in my head.
This series is made by EA. Dead space is made by EA. Deadspace was awesome, and had two discs.
ME2 and 3 have 2 discs each.
Therefore, ME 2 and 3 must be equivalent to Dead Space 2. and if ME = DS, then Mass Effect is also awesome.
from what I hear, more than that. I believe that after playing about..maybe 2 hours of ME1.
Help ALL the peoples!
xalltheyplz
Except Samesh. cause i didn't have enough points in Charm, sadly. ;A;
I must say, though...The Asari dancers? Lovely touch, devs. :3
*cough* I'maperv *cough*
Think for now, I'm just gonna relax, maybe continue writing that equivalent of a Biology paper on Flammies...with a great urge to use advanced, scientific-sounding vocabulary that I have little of. XD
See you guys later.

Stupid as Hell...
Posted 13 years agoI'm completely due for a much-not-needed update, right? So, here goes...hopefully i can be more current next time.
So, for whatever reason....I bought Devil May Cry: HD collection, and Silent hill: HD Collection.
It's 1:24. And i have a problem.
Problem: I bought Silent Hill: HD Collection. And, seeing as i was stupid enugh to buy amnesia before....well....
....I may not be getting 12 hours for the next...
...few....
....months...
Pyramid Head...
...sweet, merciful...
....something.
...I need help. somebody please explain why in the hell-
no, wait, not 'in the hell'...
...that's not good enough.
But WHY DID I BUY THOSE?! DX I was 1/10th of the way towards getting a new computer that i wouldn't use for gaming, although that's why i wanted it, and now i got 2 HD Collections, and I'm not exactly hooked...
...*bangs head against wall in frustration*
...*breaks wall*

Random Derpishness, and 1st FA journal?
Posted 13 years agoSo, on Friday, while randomly walkign on Lee Street, my dad and i stopped by the....First Baptist Church, i think? i dunno, it could've been methodist, baptist, anything...anyway. they were having a bloood drive, and my dad went in and gave a double unit. needless to say, we didn't walk much more after that...XD
went to Columbus on Saturday, and learned that a certain gas station (that sells Hunt Brothers pizza) has FREAKING AWESOME fried chicken.... breakfast? done. :3
We went to Barnes and Noble's when we got there, and i happened to finda leather business portfolio that had several pockets for cards and such, but what i liked was: two zipper bags that could hold pencils, pens, erasers...and then a large pocket that was the PERFECT size for the composition notebook i use for story ideas. the whole thing was brilliant...but 50 dollars.. ;~; WHAI?!
Anyway, i'm bored..might derp around in minecraft, or actually bother to write a little section of a story or two... i know the former sounds more likely, but...*shrug* whatever i'm in the mood to do.
oh, and also!!
[link] my dad saw this, and tried to show me where it was, but....i suppose i'll never find the facebook post he saw it in...anyway, this is a REALLY awesome sculpture... :3
aaaanyway....ba-hai~
*copied from my facebook posts. cause i'm too lazy to rewrite and reword it.*
