4x4 meme
Posted 9 years agoI'm not very good at memes as they often ask to prioritize my likes and dislikes something I simply only do in a very rough way. I'm doing this one only because 'someone' wanted me to do this one.
Four names I go by:
1. Dreamfox
2. Marko
3. Classified
4. N/A
Four places I have lived (or worked in for over six months)
1. Stuttgart, Germany
2. Hedelfingen, Germany
3. Leinfelden, Germany
4. N/A
Four things I love to watch on t.v.
I don't watch TV anymore and probably never will again. I have a long memory and now they can cut my movies as much as they like because I don't care anymore.
That said, I slowly work to get everything I like on DVD/Blu-Ray wich is mostly Science Fiction and Fantasy. I recently watched Westworld and Futureworld again for the first time in about 20 years. *happysigh*
Four places I have visited:
I do not list places I went to for conventions.
1. Fort Meyers, Florida
2. Malta (Wen I was very little, but it still left an impression)
3. N/A
4. N/A
Four things I love to eat
1. Linsen mit Spätzle & Saiten (you need to be from here to understand)
2. Pasta
3. Maultaschen (again, you need to be from here to understand)
4. N/A
Four Favourite fruits
1. Grapes
2. Bananas
3. Apples
4. N/A
Four Favourite Vegetables
1. Potatoes
2. Cauliflower
3. Cucumber
4. N/A
Four favourite drinks:
1. Coca Cola
2. Water
3. Orange Juice
4. N/A
Four furs I hope will play along.
Not that I don't have any friends, I'm just not very curious about other people. For example, I also don't ask colleagues how their vacations were. I don't mind anyone telling me these things, but I'm usually not asking.

Ray Bradbury's death
Posted 13 years agoI've just read that Ray Bradbury died last month. While he was one of the great Science Fiction writers, he was not well known in recent years. 'Farenheit 451' is one of his better known works.
My favorite were his 'Martian Chronicles' .
I have not read them yet, but I have the three movies they made off them, which are sometimes a bit strange, but tell a deep story. It's about humanity colonizing Mars.
'The Expeditions' tell the tale of the first manned missions to Mars and what happens to the Martians.
''The Settlers' shows how the settlers try to set up a new life on Mars with their dreams and expectations. It also shows how we would treat an new planet.
'The Martians' tells us what happens after... I don't want to spoil this.
There is also a simple truth mentione in the third movie (but watch the others first), the Martian Way of Life:
"Secret …. There is no secret. Anyone with eyes can see the way to live …. By watching life, observing nature, and cooperating with it. Making common cause with the process of existence …. By living life for itself, don't you see? Deriving pleasure from the gift of pure being .… Life is its own answer. Accept it and enjoy it day by day. Live as well as possible. Expect no more. Destroy nothing, humble nothing, look for fault in nothing. Leave unsullied and untouched all that is beautiful. Hold that which lives in all reverence. For life is given by the sovereign of our universe; given to be savored, to be luxuriated in, to be respected. But that's no secret. You're intelligent. You know as well as I what has to be done."

That controversial meme
Posted 15 years ago[01] Do you have the guts to answer these questions and re-post
Shure
[02] Would you do meth if it was legalized?
No.
[03] Abortion: for or against it?
For.
After good concelling, offering the option of adoption (plus maybe other aid programs that can help a single mother).
[04] Do you think a country would fail with a female president?
Nope, female politicians are just as inept or capable as male are.
[05] Do you believe in the death penalty?
If there was a way to be 100% sure that they are guilty, yes. Seeing how many innocents have been sentenced, no.
[06] Do you wish marijuana would be legalized already?
I don't know. I don't smoke and my alcohol consumption can't be called that. Seeing what legal drugs like alcohol and tobacco does, I'd rather not have them add another legal drug to the list.
[07] Are you for or against premarital sex?
Does it matter? Seeing as many who said they would'nt (even swore an oath on it) had sex before marriage, the question should be more like:
Do we teach our kids enough about relationships and sex?
Personally I even wonder for how many teenagers' first time was more or less traumatic because they knew too little about it and if we shouldn't have teachers that teach sex in theory and practice with everything that is involved (like STD's and pregnancy)
[08] Do you believe in God?
Yes. I believe there is at least one higher being (mabe more), but is that important? He won't show up and I know one thing for sure. I have one lifetime. No one guaranteed how long it will last. My only decision here is what I do with my life.
BTW, believeing in god doesn't mean to follow a religion.
[09] Do you think same sex marriage should be legalized?
Why not? Don't come to me with the 'sanctity of marriage'. Looking at the number of divorces, there is little sanctity there. Besides, we already have too many people on the planet, why not let a couple that won't produce more marry?
[10] Do you think it's wrong that so many Hispanics are illegally moving to the USA?
I think it's wrong how they and the overall problem is treated.
[11] A twelve year old girl has a baby, should she keep it?
If she wants to and is able to raise it well, why not?
Please, look back into history, we had princes and kings that lead armies to war, which are too young to buy alcohol today.
[12] Should the alcohol age be lowered to eighteen?
See 11.
Seriously, we have people you can trust with alcohol as early as 10 and others you can't trust to control with alcohol ever.
[13] Should the war in Iraq be called off?
Call it off and suffer the consequences for decades if you are unlucky.
Stay as you are at the moment and you'll stay forever.
Help rebuilding the country and you might be able to leave in a few years.
Seriously. Germany was on it's feet (economicly) 5 years after the end of WWII and running another 5 years later.
I know there are differences between Germany then and Iraq now, but then it would need just some intelligence to deal with it.
[14] Assisted suicide is illegal: do you agree?
Mmmaybe. If I have a right to live, I should also have the right to die. I should have help, if I can't do it myself and to tell the doctor to stop rescuing me.
[15] Do you believe in spanking your children?
Yes.
I also believe that people should have to get licensed before they have children, to make sure they know how to raise them.
[16] Would you burn an American flag for a million dollars?
Yes, even a German one (where I live). Keeping the importance of the flag is ridiculus, especially since it comes from a time where the flag falling was a sign that the battle is lost.
[17] Who do you think would have made a better president? McCain or Obama?
For the same reason I was for him before the election. The chances of the USA starting another war were (and are) lower with Obama. I'd thought it possible with McCain that there would be troops in Iran by now.
[18] Are you afraid others will judge you from reading some of your answers?
Afraid? No, if I were, I wouldn't post them.
Besides, face it. There is no way I can answer some of these questions without writing a book about them were I can explain my answers in depth. Also:
Give me six lines written by the most honorable of men,
and I will find an excuse in them to hang him.

First entry with uncomfortable thoughts
Posted 18 years agoI just had an idea and needed it to get out.
The first victim in a war is the truth.
That's an accepted truism.
Now, If I look at how many lies are going around the goverments I suddenly wondered.
Are we at war? Whith whom or what? And why?
