I'm not much around anymore, but I heard about Dragoneer's passing, and it's a big loss for the community here.

I never knew him much at a personal level but felt compelled to write this statement to memorialize him here today (August 7, 2024):

I will be forever grateful that you have helped create and keep this space alive. Kept it going, despite all the conflicts, problems and issues. Despite the pressures of the high highs and low lows.

Although I'm not as active as I once was, this place was definitely a safe haven for me during some darker moments in my life in years past. It was a huge relief to retreat into my stories and my commissioned art and this was my space to do that.

It's my hope that this community will continue to thrive and persevere despite your loss. That we will rally together and continue posting all our creative endeavors and share our passions with others, as I know you would be happy to see us continue doing. That FA will go on to shelter all of us crazy and wonderful people will be a testament to you and your efforts all these years.

Thank you. For everything.

If you've been following my gallery, you'll see that I'm finally uploading pictures I've promised or mentioned to many of you over the past couple of years. This series, following the (finally!!) 'marriage and honeymoon' of Russ and Kathleen has been in the works for years. As time passed, I kept thinking of more and more poses, more ways to flesh out their relationship, always pushing myself to be more creative and more spontaneous. As I mentioned previously, this might be the last time you see such a large art-dump of these characters, aside from some already planned Halloween pictures, and I wanted to post them before putting more time into my startup company and my current card game and visual novel projects.

Aside from that though, having gotten off topic, I want to thank these following artists for their time and patience, and for their professionalism in working with me on this Russ and Kathleen wedding series, to which you are all cordially invited. Thank you all.

So the time I decide to finally upload my Russ and Kathleen wedding series is the same time where someone finds a way to screw with FA's source code, which ends up deleting my first 14 submissions and negating about 6 hours of work and whatnot.

Thankfully I'm a smart person and saved a copy of each story snippet in a word document because FA. So yeah.

Still, now I'm debating uploading this to Weasyl and everywhere else first and maybe here a month from now.

This is EXACTLY why the internet business is kicking your asses. Getting only three copies in of a new game is bullshit.

So, I had some time today to burn, since it was my day off. Figured I'd go to the movies and use another one of my free tickets.

Decided on Batman v Superman, and wanted to give it a fair chance, despite all the poison and bad things being said and/or slung at it.

After having seen this film all I can say is - some people's negatives are justified and fair, some of the poison said about it, while perhaps excessive, is not too far off and kinda deserved based on my viewing.

Having said all that, here's how I felt about the film.... Meh.

Blah.

Very "meh" and "blah" would be how I describe my status on having seen this film. It was a fragmented puzzle with pieces that didn't fit together and whatever did fit together was hastily done before moving on to the next piece. Taking this metaphor a bit further, it felt like this film's poor attempts to shoehorn in other Justice League characters as moronic - like someone opened another puzzle and threw in a few pieces from that on top of everything that this film is trying to throw at you.

As the credits rolled, "blah" and "meh" is all I felt. I didn't connect with this picture at all, I am already forgetting parts of this movie or wonder why it was even in the film. There was NO emotional connection whatsoever. Characters (all of them, aside from MAYBE Affleck's Batman) are poor paper cutout excuses of characters, with little depth. What 'depth' you do get is terribly written.

The film truly is all spectacle and "wow;" no actual substance. And I'm also going to say this - for a budget so bloated, some of the CG effects were actually really shitty. I mean, if you're spending $250 million dollars on a movie, not counting marketing, and some of the effects are blurry and crappy, WTF are you doing? When you're talking about a film that reportedly needs to clear 1 BILLION at the box office to break even, how can you fail at CG and special effects when you don't even have a solid enough STORY and PLOT that actually.... what's the word.... Oh yeah, a story that actually has a proper "flow" to it.

This film was a sloppy and disjointed mess. There was nothing bad enough to hat, by nothing to really 'get behind' or cheer for either.

Meh. Blah. That's how I felt walking out. Zack Snyder still only has one movie that he can call a 'success.' "300." He should stick to movies like that where the story is VERY simple so that he can handle it. The man should NEVER be given the reins to any more comic book stuff. Period.

He should have referenced Captain America: Winter Soldier and used it as his bible for how to do anything with a comic book movie.

Okay, rant over. I honestly just wanted to write "meh" and "blah" for this review but got carried away. If you want Snyder to let you down again after the depressing and sloppy Man of Steel, here's your second helping. Hope this man gets kicked to the curb by WB.

And no, I didnt actually pay for all of those times. Most were with my free movie tickets, of which I have a small stash of them from people gifting me them for Xmas and my recent birthday (March 16th).

Just got back from an early 10:30am showing here, before I have an afternoon/night shift at work and.... WOW.

I had some seriously high expectations for this movie, and it still surprised me with how much I loved it.

Some parts are the generic buddy-cop feel, but the pacing is perfect, the characters are great, and the voice acting is top notch. Jason Bateman as Nick Wilde (fox) was great, but Ginnifer Goodwin's voice acting chops as Judy Hopps (bunny) was superb. She really was something else in this movie, and there were two vivid emotional scenes where she brings it all the way. I was close to tears for the second big emotional moment, and she delivered. Also, best character ever.... Mr. Big (sort of kidding, but not really)

The villain I kinda already figured out going into this movie, since I knew it would give a big red herring, so there wasn't much of a surprise there. Having said that, there WERE a couple twists I wasn't expecting and it all really worked.

I have tomorrow off from work and I definitely see myself going to see it again. It was just that great.

And the ending of this movie, the final 5-10 minutes, is just perfect. I love the dynamic between Nick and Judy, and I really hope there's already a great idea brewing in the minds over at Disney for a great sequel. It would be amazing to see more of the world of Zootopia.

5/5 - Definitely worth buying on Bluray if you have a great setup.

P.S. When Shakira's "Try Everything" played about 10-15 minutes in, seriously major goosebumps.

P.P.S. There are a few 'scary' moments for kids if you have any, so just be ready for that.

P.P.P.S. So much better of a movie than The Good Dinosaur. I'm beginning to see how Disney is becoming Pixar and vice versa. Aside from Inside Out, nothing else in the upcoming schedule of Pixar stuff excites me at all. Not for quite some time.

I'm going to keep this brief.

If you waited these five long years, as I did, with huge anticipation to see the follow-up to the awesome Kung Fu Panda 2, I think you'll be disappointed by this entry.

All in all, as I watched, I felt so many moments where there was bad pacing, unnecessary filler (believe it or not), and convenient god-mode when needed. I don't like when these movies over-use montages as a way to speed up what could've been much more compelling content for the movie, for the sake of a shorter run time.

It just feels like they dumb things down and shorten it. Maybe its because they are so focused on making it a kids movie? Keeping the time to roughly 90 minutes per usual for a kid film for high turnover to make more money? I don't know.

I just walked out feeling like I won't remember much after a week.

To conclude, it looks like Kung Fu Panda 2 will still be the highest point of the trilogy thus far, and the reviews for 3 are higher for the moment, which is pretty mind-boggling to me. Maybe in five more years, they'll have re-learned what made Kung Fu Panda 2 so good and go back to that.

Well, here's hoping?? Kung Fu Panda 4... in 2021...

The man was a living legend, one of the most gifted and talented actors I've ever seen on the screen and one of the few who ever made me cry when watching a film (you know the Deathly Hallows scene of which I allude to).

All his acting creations will be his gifts left behind for us.

My favorite will always be Snape, though. Who else could've given such a wondrous performance? No one.

Good show, good characters, but the best part of the whole damn thing is the comedy gold.


I have never, EVER, laughed so genuinely watching an anime show in my life.


Certain scenes, usually 90% with Tanaka-san, crack me up, BIG TIME.
