Badges are on hold for a little while because I've yet to have time to do samples yet - two people ended up winning the auction, so I'd like to do at least one of them before I open up for smaller things.

I've been doing a bit of sculpting lately, and although I generally suck at it and it's HIGHLY frustrating, I do enjoy it... usually.

I've been working on a relief slab carving with stonewear clay lately, that's coming along really really slowly, but is looking really good and I'm enjoying it a lot. I don't have any pictures to show right now, but I will in the future.

I was also experimenting with cheap air-dry clay this morning. I wanted to be able to make little figures and such without the hassle of finding a kilm to fire it in. The only thing is, it'll probably be really really brittle I'm guessing.
Anyway, here's a little thing I did, just to test the clay since I hadn't used it before. It's a bit lumpy, but I'm so heavy-handed with things, I can't help it. I'd just sand it down when it's dry to smooth it.
Oooh, I wonder what it is, heh. The character and the design, belong to robotplanedinosaur - I love her monster plushie templates, and thought they'd make a great, quick and easy base/design to make a little experiment with. When it's dry I'll be painting it with acrylics.

I might end up drawing my own designs/template for base characters/figures to do, since I'd like to do a little collection of them for myself. I'd like to do a bigger figure, but I have a feeling this air-dry clay would be too brittle and it would fall apart so I'll steer away from that and just do little things for now. Maybe if I can find a kilm to use I could do bigger things and fire them, but I'll have to see.



Okay, so like, since I'm such a newbie at this, I was wondering if anyone had any good sites, tutorials or even any tips from self experiance they'd be willing to share?
Like I said, I'm a bit of a first-timer so any advice would be great.

Heh, sorry most of my journals are either "So, tell me more about yourselves" or "BUY MY SHIT" but really, heh.... that's all I ever have to say. My life is boring and I don't really have much to say about my 'art'.


I'm replacing my 'bust commissions' as badges. Badges just seem to be more popular and... useful? Heh

They'll pretty much be the same thing, ie like this but a bit more stylish, with the character name on it somewhere (optional), and just generally more 'badge-like'.


Only thing is, because I don't live in the US, I probably wont be able to ship the originals to you, so I'd only send you a copy of the 300 DPI full scan of the piece so you can print it out and laminate it if you wish. Even if I did send it, I don't have any access to a laminator. Plus, truthfully, I'm very procrastinating when it comes to sending things off anyway, so I doubt they'd even get there in time. But if you'd still REALLY like the original, let know know and we'll work something out. (Speaking of which - I'm working on that guys! I've finally got the money to send things off and whatnot so I'll try to get around to it soon :[)
To people in Australia, or people who want badges for MidFur, I'll gladly ship you the badges for $1 extra.

1. Bust/torso badge - pretty much the same as the 'bust commissions' for $20
2. Chibi badge - full-character, only smaller and more cartoony so the whole character can fit on the badge for $15

Anyway, I've got a bit of time off, so I've been working on commissions as much as possible. Crossing people off my commission list is very, very fufilling. So expect more of that. Holy crap, I even started on my two really old commissions because I sort of finally feel confident enough to try drawing my wonky humans again. SHIT GUYS. WHAT THE HELL.

Also, I'm thinking of trying a 'whatever you want' commission auction (once I finish my old commissions) so look out for that if it appeals to you.

You people were the reason I had to write this journal. I've never really gotten much fanart, ever, but it was cool. I never complained and I was fine. But lately... my god.
I've been getting friends and people I BARELY know alike throwing awesome Hemorrhage art at me left and right. Most of the time I'm just gob-smacked that people would even draw anything for me. So gob-smacked that it usually takes me a day or two since I intially see the piece to actually piece together my brain in order to leave a coherant comment on it that is a bit more than just "lol kewl thx" so apologies if I seem slow to comment on things.
