Looking for a new commission
Posted 4 years agoFirst post in ... 7 years?
Yeesh. I hope everyone has been well. I lurk, for certain.
Might as well post it here as a journal while I keep looking about.
I am looking for creating a new sona concept. I have down some stuff I am looking for, but would need someone who is willing to try out a few different color styles.
I am willing to pay decently for this as the end-goal is, well, no surprise, a new sona all-together, a furred dragon.
Instead of posting up everything I want, feel free to note me or help point me to someone who may be interested!
In the meanwhile, I shall continue looking onwards as well.

Library full of books
Posted 12 years agoContrary to the obviousness of the title, does anyone else feel like they own a miniature library full of books? I sure do. I'm cleaning-up my room and storage, and I keep finding box after box after box of ... books! A lot of them good, some with value, most not beyond a good read.. but still! Anyone else feel like this too?
Art Dump
Posted 13 years agoI've been slow to update pics that both
ironclaw and I have commissioned. Here they are!

Merry Merry
Posted 14 years agoHey everyone who is taking a glance at this!
Today's word is "Un."
I do hope everyone is doing well, or at least managing. I know that some are having more hardships than others, and I do wish you all the best, no matter your situation.
I seem to rarely update my journal, but I should do it once in awhile.
Let's see, updates updates.. I have a few things that are new:
I am taking bi-weekly classes for art. One is drawing, and oh, how I am improving. I should update FA. Though it seems basic, I may as well keep a way to keep track.
The other is sculpture and the focus is on sculpting the human body. It is meant to help learn the form of a human. I will be getting into drawing people with drawing as well.
To be honest, I am attempting to build a decent foundation before I go to school. I think having a few stepping-stones will help. But I will be aiming for school in a year, or at least, that is my hope.
ironclaw is visiting in February <3 <3 <3 Oh geez, how I love him! I feel like such a lucky dragon. I am forever devoted to him <3
Looking at running an online D&D 4E game. Anyone perhaps interested? I know I have Ironclaw as a player so far :)

A Proposal of Post May 21st.
Posted 14 years agoI propose that May 21st should be declared International DERP day.
On another note . . .
I love
ironclaw so much that I had to just simply remind him on here that there is only 1 week remaining before I will be seeing him again :D
On another note . . .
I love

Are you an Artist and would like to earn some $?
Posted 15 years agoHope the subject-line caught some attention.
Currently, I am trying to expand my skills and through my own methods, they have been . . . improving, but at a slow pace. I would like to actually pick-up-the-pace if I can, even somewhat.
So, how does this apply to you and money?
Well, I have money and I am looking for an artist or artists to essentially trade time for them to help me improve my art by giving time to give me tips, tricks, critiques and over-all help with improving my art.
Summarized: I will pay you to help me improve.
So, what's the catch besides helping me? Send me a note, post to this journal or something saying you have interest. We can start to talk about what we could do, the payment and such and if you and I both see that it is worth-while, then you teach and I pay. Do note that I will give no preference to anyone; if I see that what you have to offer is worthwhile, I will see what I can do to pay you for time!
Simple as that.
Seriously. ^.-.^
Please post and/or send me a message!
P.S. Please don't feel offended if I don't get back to you right away. I will get back to everyone as soon as I can!

Posted 15 years agoI blame it on
ironclaw for this....
IF YOU COMMENT ON THIS JOURNAL, I SHALL...
1. Respond with something random about you.
2. Tell you which color you remind me of.
3. Tell you my first memory of you.
4. Tell you what animal you remind me of.
5. Ask you something I've always wondered about you.
6. Tell you my favorite thing about you.
7. Tell you what song reminds me of you.
8. Challenge you to post this on your journal.

Last one said stuffs about Brawl for my Wii! I even sold-off Brawl oh-so-long ago.
So where am I now? Still where I was before for living. What I am doing however is a wide-range of things. I finished doing management at the Olympics for a well-known company (En Bee See), yes, that network. Of course, only temporary but the money has been rather nice and it has earned me some rather resourceful contacts and references!
I have also been coming along with leaps and bounds with my art. I have some scanned-in from last year which I will be uploading here soon enough and eventually will be putting-in more of my recent. With the art, I've been coming ahead with some things that have been on my mind like more schooling, which is a direction I do and eventually -will- be going, though I am going to be doing more work to save-up to pay for it.
Starting in two weeks, I shall be upping my drawing-time daily from what it is to 3-hours a day minimum. No point in not trying my best to improve myself!
I have a few other things on my plate I may share eventually. I'm here, I'm just slow to update things on my FA Page. Here is a sneak-peek at one of my sketches last year: http://floru.webs.com/Lionesses.jpg
Anyhow, thanks for reading!
Cheers,
Floru

Brawl!
Posted 17 years agoOkay, I'm late to the punch. Just got my Wii closer to my wireless LAN so it now has a fairly strong connection.
I'll be adding people who I see on my journal lists that I've saved, but just in case (or if you ddin't post your friend code up), my code is: 2148-7938-6980
If I'm not on my Wii, just give me an IM and I"ll play against you if I have time, or wii can plan it up! =)

A call-out to anyone going to FC
Posted 18 years agoHey everyone,
Anyone going to FC? If so, I am in need of a someone to be staff for the "Creator's Lounge". It's a fairly relaxed staffing position and you get to be sourrounded by fellow artists all trying to have fun.
You get other great benefits out of being staff as well!
If you are interested, please post here/message me and I will go into more detail.
Thanks everyone!

Leaving EA
Posted 18 years agoOkay, I already left.
Why?
My contract was not renewed. Damn!
On a plus note, I've applied to a few game companies and have recieved a few requests from them for me to come in for an interview. So far it's only three: Radical (Scarface is a big title from them), Blue Castle Games (The Biggs) and Slant 6 Games (Syphon Filter: Dark Mirror).
Blue Castle did a phone interview with me already and they said they will get back to me come tomorrow on if they want me for a 2nd interview or not. *Fingers crossed*.
Here's to hoping ^.=.^

Meme and Update
Posted 18 years agoPost here and choose 1 of the following 3 options:
1)
I'll look through your entire gallery and select my 'top 3' and explain why.
2)
a- I'll answer with something random about you.
b- I'll dare you to try something.
c- I'll say a color I associate with you.
d- I'll tell you something I like about you.
e- I'll tell you something I always remember about you / a first memory about you.
f- I'll tell you what animal you remind me of.
g- I'll ask you something I always wanted to ask you.
3)
I'll comment on 2 pieces in your gallery and favorite a 3rd (No comment though).
So, let's see, about myself . . . I might be becoming a deligate for Wizards of the Coast. Was at an Anime Convention and the current Deligate and I were talking and he said he was going back to school and wouldn't have time to do the stuff anymore and if I was willing to take over for him. ^.=.^
Getting some help to hone on what is needed to move up at EA. Yes, I work at Electronic Arts, but please don't ask me about some unreleased game nor flame me about some EA game you absolutely hate.
Cheers!

My Abscence
Posted 18 years agoGreets to anyone who is reading.
I suppose I haven't been on in awhile, and I haven't really kept in touch with those I considered friends; for that, I appologise.
I do hope everyone has been well. Don't hesitate to keep in touch, I'll be on more often now.
With a lack of a scanner and a comp with a faulty video card, my digital stuff has been put on the backburner and I have been working more diligently with traditional, which has been improving. I'm even going to lifedrawing classes which have been helping me quite a bit. I've even made some choices with schooling, well, just about. Right now it's just a toss-up between a few schools to where I want to go, but no more shall be added.
Work also has been kicking my hiney in the area of 'free time'. Working at Electronic Arts is time consuming. Yes, playing games professionally may sound fun, but it can be mentally draining for the stress put on you to find problems with the game. It's also 8.5 hours a day with lots and lots of Overtime. Fun? Yes? Time Consuming? Of Course.
*hugs to all* Thanks for reading. I do miss you friends.
So, without further ado, I shall comment on a few pieces of art and fall onto my bed.

Dimmu Borgir!!
Posted 18 years agoLast night rocked . . . hard.
At least the last half.
I was planning with some friends to go see Dimmu Borgir last night and what a hit!
The tour was dubbed: Invaluable Darkness which involved 4 bands; 1 being Dimmu.
The first band, UnEarthed, sucked. What a lousy start to the whole experience. The lead singer was just a Scream-Jock. Of couse, my friends were in the Mosh Pit while I was sitting, the food I had prior to going in didn't agree with me. Also, I'm not one that moshes, so nothing off my back.
The second band, Devil Driver, was meh. They sounded almost like UnEarthed except they got most of the floor into a huge mosh pit before their final song.
The third band, Cataclysm. Mmm, Cataclysm. By this time I was about to go out and just give up if Cataclysm sucked. They rocked. Their style was @#!ing amazing and their songs were good enough to get me into the mood-of-things again as I was moments before the concert started.
Then it was Dimmu. Yes, the band I was waiting for. Their base player is amazing when he sings and the songs were the ones I wanted to hear . . . Well, I wanted more, but you can only get so much. The down side: They were rushing things. The first 3 bands took their time that Dimmu only had so much time left before Vancouver's main trasportation shut down, which wouldn't have resulted well. Soo, there were complaints by many that they were not at their peek and I agree. However, they were still great.
They are back in October and I can't wait.

FC08 <= If you are attending click, or just click for fun!
Posted 18 years agoOkay. I applied and was accepted to run the 'Creators Lounge' for Further Confusion 2008.
The question I have to anyone is: If you have been to FC's Creators Lounge before, what would you want changed/improved?
If you haven't been to FC and/or FC's Creators Lounge, it is a decent-sized room where artists come to draw with the sole rule that there is no buying/selling allowed. Check it out at: http://www.furtherconfusion.org
I'm sure I'll post this journal up here sometime down-the-road again and in the FC forums. Thought I would start here as the www.Furtherconfusion.org forum doesn't start bussling until near the end of the year.

Le Sigh
Posted 18 years agoSo, my comp died a bit back, and after tinkering with it, I finally brought it over to a comp repair place. They thought it was my C: that had died, so they formatted it in hopes. In the end though, they found out that it was my power supply that had become faulty. So now I'm back with a blank C: which had . . . everything. Lost all of my originals for most of my digital art, stories, writings, everything. Thus why my absence.
*Vulgarity inserted here*
Well, I suppose I just have to learn to consistantly back things up all the bloody time, whoo.
(I'll re-write the ghost story for you, Chara)
Good news: I am working at EA, hurrah!

A Game Review (I need feedback).
Posted 18 years agohttp://vgremote.blogspot.com/
So I need feedback on the review I put there.
Did you like the review? Did you hate the review? Have I flushed my writing skills down the drain? Should I post Game Reviews on here? Do you feel FEAR while reading this? FEAR me?

Cintiq or ModBook?
Posted 18 years agoSeriously.. I've been looking into the Cintiq for awhile now and there is a place where I could pay/month while getting one . . . However, because of MacWorld, OWC presented the ModBook, Mac's Tablet.
Cintiq's good sides:
- Tried, Tested and True.
- Nice and big and yum
- PC has programs for all my art and such.
Cintiq's Down sides:
- I need to buy a new video card, this one is old.
- It isn't portable.
Mac good sides:
- Portable
- Is claimed to be for 'the artist' among the other types.
- Has all the up-to-date hardware I want.
Mac down sides:
- Not tried/tested/true
- Releases in April, yech..
- I need to get programs for the Mac which I already have on my PC . . .
Any thoughts?

The wayyy over-due FC07 post
Posted 18 years agoI promised one a few days back and didn't deliever.. so, here's my 'make up' by me posting :P
However, this post is going to be long, so I'm going to summarize it here in case people want to just do a quick-read.
- Sold my first paid comission.
- Staffing Rocked.. staffing again next year probably!
- Koool-Aid..!
- But I'm the Juggernaught..
- Drama Llama personified!
- Fur Suits <3
- Friends <3 <3 <3
- Klingon Party <3 <3 <3 <3 <3
- And having the most coolest tag attached to my staff badge labeled 'Tea Snob' which was the greatest 'Ice Breaker' I've ever seen.
The trip to: Started off with me missing my first bus to Seattle.. not fun :/ Then the second was full.. so finally, the third I got on. On the trip down to Seattle, some guy noticed me drawing and commissioned me for 5 dollars to draw him a fish.. And I did, and with good success as well! Wish I had a pic of it still... Going there with an old friend was quite fun. I haven't seen Walksfar since FC06, and it was nice to take a trip down with him. Stayed overnight in Salem Oregon and raced for it the following day.. I had to work at 9:00pm and we made it there at 7:30.. cutting things close.. yipes!
Arrival and night of the first day (Thursday): So, got in at 7:30 as said and went on a mad-dash to my room.. Took forever for the lady at the desk to figure out who I was and finally gave me a key. Had plans on staying in the room with both Joseph Doberman and someone else he was talking to.. but they were both not there. Later on found that Joseph's friend got there earlier and couldn't get into the room, panicked (I think..) and found a new room. Saw a message left by Joseph as to how much I owed.. owed another 20 dollars for a quick-registration for myself (Going to FC was last-minute..) and then ran off to Con Ops to collect my stuff. Con Ops just blinked at me and told me to go to Reg table and by that time, it was 8:40.. so I was panicing.. I LOVE staffing at cons.. Any convention I go to.. I have to staff or else I won't have fun.. weird.. So I get to the reg desk, they take my pic, print me up a staff badge and offf I go to the Creator's Lounge! Not many furries were there that night, but it was still awesome as I met a kindly fur named Piccolo who aided me with some anatomy.
(By the Way, the Creator's Lounge is where furries can go to socialize and do art.. but cannot sell art there.)
Day 2 (Friday): Info Staff takes off and I meet MommaCon, lovely lady ^.=.^ She's the head of Info Desk while I'm here kindly assistant. She has a huge assortment of teas and you can get free hot water from the bar.. so like, mmm... Jasmine Lavender felt so good against the tongue and yum.. Floru likes teas! And thusly, I was given the labeling of 'Tea Snob' by MommaCon, bwahaha! Staffed again at Creator's Lounge and had to go see about going to Todai's with friends as planeed, but that was moved up a day.. so I went to the staff feed (Free food area for staff memebers and volunteers dubbed 'gofurs') Hung out with Davecko and his friend Nemesis until we parted ways and I danced the rest of the night away. Went back to my room and finally met Joseph! Huzzah! He's a nice guy ^.=.^ Finally after the dancing was done, I was famished, so I went to McDonalds and asked at the drivethrou if I could order with my friend without having a car.. they said okay, so I had McDonalds.. I haven't had McDonalds in so long.. I remembered why then.. I dislike fastfood in general >.<
Day 3 (Saturday): Info Desk again as it was a 9-5 job.. However, I was let go early to talk to someone about something and to quell a Drama Llama before it came into full-being.. Met up with Phluphi and hs semi-mate who I simply cannot remember his name for the life of me (sorry). Met up with Losian as well and WindDragon 6.=.^ Two wonderful furs.. wish I had more time to talk with them. Hung out in the Creator's Lounge, did art.. There was a 'Koolaid Man getting it on' theme and a 'My childhood ruined' theme in one sketchbook where I drew this really creepy looking buny and stuff... Oh I hope that pic doesn't come back to haunt me >.> I know I scared MichaFennic with that pic XD She came over, looked at it and was like 'That's creepy...' Todai's was that night. Enjoyed it with Yao Chi, WalksFar, a few other people and Monica Livingstone. I tried to drag Daveco and Nemesis along, but Dave didn't want to go.. so.. tough luck for him ^.=.^ Todai's = best sushi bar in the US. Get back and have my shift to do.. but I have a few hours before, so I pull out my El Wire and dance.. then to the KLINGON PARTY!!!! Cheap booze and mmm.. I almost got plastered before my shift >.< Oops.. Well, uh, needlyess to say, I kept focus. Sleeeeeppp... Only cause I knew I would get around 3 hours.. However! I brought back a friend I know from Vancouver and his friend who was roomless and they blabbed all night.. kinda hard to sleep when others are talking.
Day 4 (Sunday): Okay, so far I had about 8 hours of sleep behind me for the whole con in total... I was worn out.. however, with sheer will power! I did info desk again. The Fur Suit Parade was fun to watch. Now that I'm talking with Blaze again, I saw him in the parade but didn't notice it was him (I don't look at conbadges too much while staffing :P I'm bad with that).. Anyhow, after that finished, MomaCon relieved me to spend time with Dave and Nemesis to which we walked about. Dave started talked to Stargazer (lovely work), and Nemesis and I went elsewhere looking about. Tons of stuff to see and I bought a few things including a con badge (I'll upload it here). Didn't look too much like Flo, but eh, it was cool =) This was sadly my last day, and with all my swag, I was sorry to go so soon, but I had to head out in the morning, otherwise I would be missing class (not good). So I went to the creator's lounge and started doing trades with others, and finally did a partial collab with a cute guy (I'm doing the coloring as we speak). I had a blast and stayed up until around 5:00am when I finally told myself that the con was over and I needed sleep...
Final hours (Monday morning): Got up with Joseph and gave me him my farewells.. Wish we had more time to talk.. Packed up with Walksfar and had enough time to scour the floors of the con one last time to say 'Bye' to anyone I knew that I saw.. Ran only into Phluphi and said my byes. Finally went back to the car after making a 'staff feed' run to grab some food-on-the-go.. and left.
Travelling back up was fun if not a little messy.. Got to the Greyhound in time and gave my goodbyes to Walksfar, jumped on the bus and.. made it back hom to drop my stuff off and ran to class ^.=.^
Thanks everyone for a great time.. Hope to see you all (And hopefully more) at 08

Posted 18 years agoHow funny . . .
A song actually made me cry. It's been so long since I've been moved to tears where I want to scream in frustation. I suppose tonight hasn't helped too much, but the song was the final 'push over'. Keke... the sensative dragon :P
Anyone else cried because of listening to a song or perhaps watching a music video?
I'll post FC later today.. Been meaning to. Thank you every one who I met there.. Wonderful you all are. ^.=.^
