Dragoneer
General | Posted a year agoI fell out of touch with Dragoneer as I did many people, so there's a regret. I only found out recently that he was very ill, like barely a day before he died. It took a while for me to process it, but it hit pretty hard. Once upon a time, we used to chat from time to time. He even asked me to be an admin once, if you can believe it. I turned the offer down because my life was already very stressful, and I couldn't take on anything more. He had plenty of flaws, made plenty of mistakes and bad choices, but at the end of the day he did care about the community and wanted FA to continue on and thrive.
And now he's gone.
So...where do we go from here? Onward, I hope. I'm hoping he had enough system in place to keep FA running. I guess we'll all find out soon enough what the future holds for this place. Until then, please, take care of yourselves and each other.
Also, fuck the US healthcare system.

I don't even have words for this loss. For any reading this, Ara and I go WAY back. I mean, we literally joined FA together. Look at our join dates. :/
I've always had a warm place in my heart for Ara, and for them to go like this...just no reason, just...dead. Heart stopped. That's it. I can't even cry, though I want to. I can't even process this.

General | Posted 6 years agoJust remember that no matter if you are gay, lesbian, bisexual, pansexual, asexual, transgender, intersex, nonbinary or any flavor of queer as long as you are living your life true to yourself you are being amazing!
We all struggle. We all feel scared, or weak, or unworthy, or tired, or stupid sometimes. Feeling these things doesn't change who you are, no matter who tries to tell you you're a bad person for being who you are.
We all have to believe things will get better. We've already made progress. Yes, there are bad people trying to take that away from us, but in the end, progress is inevitable. We will breathe the air of a better tomorrow.
Stay strong everyone.
If we believe in each other, it'll help make believing in ourselves that much easier.

Avengers: Endgame review (SPOILERS)
General | Posted 6 years agoAgain, like the title says, spoilers ahead! Don't read this if you haven't seen Endgame yet!
As many of you know, I am a big fan of the Marvel films. Infinity War, Winter Soldier, Civil War, Black Panther, Spider-Man: Homecoming, Thor Ragnarok and The Avengers are among my top favorite films of all time. Even the not-so-great offerings of the MCU like Iron Man 3 and Thor: The Dark World I cut slack because of their charm and humor and effort. Also, when a Marvel film fails to deliver on being great, at least it's still written consistently.
So after all these movies and consistent writing and steady character development I just have to ask
HOW DID THEY FUCK THIS UP SO BADLY?!
I am sorry but Endgame is the most convoluted, inconsistent mess of a movie that could have possibly been made. Yes, I'm legitimately saying Endgame is bad. I mean BAD. It feels like a nostalgia-bomb cash grab and nothing more. Now that I've said that, let me explain the problems.
1. Nobody cares about Hulk. Remember how Hulk was sulking after being beat by Thanos and there's that whole setup in Infinity War about Bruce wanting to work it out? Well, forget having any resolution on that. Instead, here's dopey science smart Hulk, easily the most boring character ever created.
2. Thanos was apparently more powerful before he got the stones. Remember how Thor nearly one-shot Thanos with his super axe in Infinity War, which overpowered the combined effort of all six stones? Well, the writers sure don't remember! Watch as multiple characters whom Thanos needed the gauntlet to fight before suddenly get their asses kicked by regular Thanos with just some armor and a cool sword!
3. Their version of time travel is garbage. Apparently, they consulted actual scientists for it! Probably the same egghead assholes who coached Interstellar into a year-a-minute planet and a cosmic space library. You know, things that people have theories about but noone can prove. But they wanted it to be "more realistic", so they say you can't change the present just by going to the past, but then why does it matter what they do in the past? Why do they have to return the stones? So here they are, worrying about changing the past while saying they can't change the past, and it's just a bloody nightmare of inconsistent nonsense.
4. The present is completely fucked and now makes no sense. Everyone who poofed is the same age, from the moment they left, but it's still the five years later timeline. Does that mean the next Spider-Man film is set in 2024? How the fuck is that supposed to work? Every movie we see from now on will be 5 years in the future, unless you just ignore Endgame entirely or find some awful bullshit way of compressing the timeline. This is basically the wrost plot idea they've ever had. Ever. And I'm saying that after the Mandarin. Also, how is Steve Rodgers even there? Shouldn't he have created an alternate timeline? THIS IS SO STUPID.
5. The final battle has some great moments, but ends up a mess also. I mean, the part with Cap and Mjolnir, of course I loved it. The whole theater loved it. Scarlet Witch being badass? Oh yeah. But when they bring the entire MCU onto the field, unlike Civil War, you don't really get to appreciate anything. It's just...jingly keys. It's the kind of big, bombastic, clusterfuck action noise that would make Michael Bay get an erection.
6. Captain Marvel is barely in it. Remember that big moment where Fury calls Captain Marvel at the end of Infinity War, like the fate of the universe depends on her? Well, it doesn't. In fact, her appearances in this movie amount to playing taxi for Tony and Nebula, zapping a retired Thanos once, having once cute moment with Thor, a couple of holo-chats, and then showing up at the end to blow up Thanos' big cruiser...for which he punches her in the face with the power stone after they fight for like two seconds. And that's it!
7. You never really feel the world's loss. You do for the characters, and a few random people, but one thing the other Marvel films did really well was to put you in the world. Sakovia, New York, the bombings involving Wakanda, in Civil War they give you time to feel those things. Even in the moment, in the films where they happen, you spend time on the ground. Among the people. Living that moment. This movie...never really does that. In fact, I'd say this movie provides the least amount of emotional context of any Marvel film featuring a large disaster, and keeps you looking at it through a very small window.
8. It's the least memorable and most tedious Marvel film. I can't remember a single quotable line from Thanos. Not one. There was a joke about Rocket being a build-a-bear, and several mentions of Cap's ass (which is nice, admittedly), but...that's all. Where's the snappy dialogue we all love? The great moments of moving statements? I certainly don't remember any. A lot of things were recycled from previous films or just done as references. The closest this movie came to any kind of real meaningful moment was Tony getting to talk fatherhood with his dad in the past (which was actually a good scene), but...not much else. I'll tell you what I do remember: being bored to death by Science Hulk and Fat Thor. Marvel, are you guys sure you didn't hire Michael Bay to write those parts?
9. It winds up being nothing but a nostalgia grab. The dialogue is largely forgettable and even people who like the movie have to admit the plot is a hot mess, so it has no other purpose. It's basically three hours of feels-sturbation aimed at fans of the first Avengers film while sidelining pretty much everyone else...except Rocket, because it's Rocket.
So, yeah, not good. Very disappointing and half-assed end to such a long legacy. However, I am always balanced in my reviews, so here's the short list of things the movie got right (some of which I mentioned above):
+ Tony and his dad talking
+ Cap with Mjolnir
+ Scarlet Witch being badass
+ The death scene with Tony, Peter and Pepper
+ The very few scenes with Captain Marvel
+ Some exceptional cinematography
...and that's it.
Very diappointing.
I give Avengers: Endgame a 5/10. Enough content to make it worth watching for the visuals and a few awesome moments, but on the whole just a clusterfuck of poor plot choices, inconsistent writing and underused or overused characters.

The Furry Breeder Racket
General | Posted 6 years agoTake a moment to think about the percentage of furries who are gay or lesbian. Compared to irl percentages, it's a lot. A lot a lot. In a furry universe, we're talking 30-40% of the entire world's population being some flavor of gay. That is HUGE.
Now, a large chunk of those gay couples will want kids at some point. It's natural. But think of the sheer volume of that demand. So, enter the breeders. They love impreg, pregnancy, laying, birthing, the whole deal. They make lots of eggs and lots of kids. However, they're not doing it to be parents, they're doing it for the fetish, so you wind up with a lot of kids available for adoption. Pop out a kid once a year, and bam, you're making good money.
This means that, in the furry universe, gay couples and breeder fetish furs would form a symbiotic relationship. The breeders get to enjoy their fetish and make money doing it, the gay couples get to have kids, and everyone is happy. :]

Flynn's Easy Guide to Herm vs Intersex Characters
General | Posted 7 years agoA hermaphrodite character:
- Has both a functional penis and a complete vagina
- Has two complete sets of gonads (ovaries and testes)
- Has full reproductive capability in both ways
- Has all the secondary functions, such as a prostate and Skene's glands
Flynn, an intersex character:
- Has both a functional penis and a vagina, but no clit
- Has one ovary and one teste
- Has limited reproductive ability in both ways
- Does not have a prostate
A hermaphrodite character is a perfected, idealized amalgamation of male and female. An intersex character is a partial mishmash of the two, and never completely both.

A Guide to the Gender Menu
General | Posted 7 years agoTo show your respect for the trans/intersex/nb community, please note the following:
1. The trans* labels should be reserved for transgender characters only, not transformation fetish content.
2. I'm already seeing the intersex label being used for clearly overt fetish fuel characters. DO NOT DO THIS. The "herm" option is still there, use it, or use something else. Intersex should be used exclusively for characters closer to the irl context of just having mixed genitals and/or biology, not for hyper-endowed futa giant anus muscle-bitches.
3. Non-binary does not mean "neuter".

Thanks for the new/revised labels FA!
General | Posted 7 years agoI like this a lot better, honestly. Not only is it more progressive and accurate, but searches are going to be soooo much easier now.
Well, at least they will be once everyone updates or posts new content. :D
I've already removed "herm" from all my current gallery posts. I love that I can say "intersex" and most people know what I'm talking about now! As opposed to "wtf is that?", lol
There will probably be further tweaks to this, to make sure everyone feels included, but the important thing is that it's actually being addressed. ^__^

General | Posted 7 years agoStill hard to believe! I've never owned a house before. It's a nice, roomy home too. Tons of space in each room and in the common areas. Even the area is really nice and thriving!

The only caveat is that any content containing Flynn must abide by the restrictions and guidelines presented on the refsheet.
Aside from that, have fun, and if in doubt just ask!

Don't equate a lack of relationship to a lack of something in yourself, most of the time that's not the case
I believe there's someone out there for you!
I know it's hard to be patient, it really is
To keep hoping in the face of nothing or disappointment
But it's worth it to hold on
Everyone has something to offer someone
Find your someone
Because I believe in you
