This is making the rounds lately, but if you haven't seen it - VancouFur made the news recently when Syrian Refugee's wound up sharing our convention hotel!

This was an incredible experience - I cannot describe to you how excited those children were. And their families! I got so many hugs and played with so many kids! Easily one of the greatest experiences I've had :)

Its been about a year since I closed down for commissions and I've been asked constantly if I'll be reopening. Since I work full time I can't do commissions on the regular anymore - so this is a rare notice that I'll be open for SELECT COMMISSIONS this weekend.

I'm going to be taking a limited number of commissions this weekend - a couple badge slots, some icons and a multicharacter YCH. I'll be auctioning off one custom full colour commission as well.

I'd like your guys' feedback on what your preferred alternative to "First Come First Serve" commissions. I'd like to try something other than fcfs so I'd like to know what has worked best for you so far. Do you prefer when the artist chooses based on concept or what interests them most? Do you prefer a random number draw? Do you prefer a guessing game? Creative answers are welcome! I'm open to new ideas.

I just wanted let you fuzzies know that the time has come - I've been hired on at an animation studio here in town and this marks the end of my open commissions. It's been a wonderful year working with you lovely fuzzles :D

Depending on how things go after the first few months, I may end up opening an auction here and there if people are still interested in getting art. Until then - its been swell! I look forward to catching up on what you've all been working on, and finally get to start drawing things for myself now :)

I'm in the market for a new tablet now, and I'm seeking your advice so I don't wind up buying a shitty one again. I've been considering the cintiq alternatives - the Yiynova's and Bosto's - and I'm wondering if anyone here has had any experience with them. I've heard really up and down things, but I hear the same complaints (sometimes worse) about the cintiq - is the on screen drawing experience really that terrible? (The viewing angles, the tablet's temperature, driver issues... etc)

I'm wondering if it would still be worth investing in just a regular tablet, and if so, what kind would you recommend? I've used the Intuos 5 and its okay, nothing special. Its about the same price range as the tablet monitor's that Yiynova make, though. So its a tough debate!

Any advice or experience? Anyone have any recommendations? Fire 'em at me!
(Currently using a bamboo fun pen & touch and I despise it! The only thing I like is the pen holder....haha)
