MFF 2024
Posted 10 months agoThis was my 17th MFF
After 17 years, I definitely still love the fandom even though I'm seeing fewer people I know and more people that I don't know. But new people are a goof thing, yeah?
I had a great time and did meet some new people.
But this year's experience has made me consider how to approach convention travel and what I should bring with me. I only actually used about 40% of what I brought. Maybe I need better plans, but planning for cons is harder and harder every year.
Anyway, love you all!

Information for Bluesky Accounts
Posted 10 months agoI have decided to add Bluesky to my assortment of used social media platforms. I will not be leaving Twitter as I will keep up with all I want to keep up with. I will also never refer to it as "X", even though Elon Muck demands that we call it "X" and not "Twitter" because "X" is a stupid name for a social media platform, and I'm not taking advice on what to call something from a man who deadnames his own child.
My normal (General Furry Stuff) BS: kryphosdrgn.bsky.social
My After Dark (Adult Content Warning!) BS: kryphosdrgnad.bsky.social
and
My BS that deals with Politics, Philosophy, History, Religion, and other potentially controversial topics: Please inquire privately here or privately via other already known social media platforms.
They are essentially the same names that I use on... TWITTER but without the .bsky.social parts.
Thanks All!

Downsizing
Posted 2 years agoIt is with regret that I have made the decision to sell the For Fun Latex Dragon Hood that I have. I tried it on once, the fit was great, but I have a different head that I would prefer to use instead.
Please contact me through PM if you have questions or would like pics of the item.
Thanks.

Span Resolution for Gaming
Posted 2 years agoI'm currently running three monitors that are all 2560 x 1440 at 165 hz.
I want to Span them to 7680 x 1440 but am having no success.
They are all Display Port and the GPU is a 3080ti
Anyone out there with advice?

On the matter of dating and persons who are trans:
Posted 2 years agoIn one poll I recently reviewed:
12% of gay cis men would consider dating a trans man.
3% of straight cis men would consider dating a trans woman.
29% of lesbian cis women would consider dating a trans woman.
2% of straight cis women would consider dating a trans man.
I'm curious what folks would say about these responses. This isn't a post about advocacy or not, I'm just looking to see what people might say about it.

3.5 Months After Surgery and 2.5 Months After Radiation
Posted 3 years ago3 1/2 months ago, I was diagnosed with a major right frontal lobe brain tumor that I had no previous symptoms for.
It was excised via partial removal of my cranium and a laser ablation of 97% of the tumor. The remaining 3% was too close to the artery to operate on safely, so follow-up radiation therapy was necessary.
Pathology of the tissue revealed no cancer.
1 month later I received a treatment of a high precision radiation session lasting about 5 hours called Gamma Knife. Because of the highly localized section of what remained of the tumor, a highly precise procedure of exposing the tumor area only to varying angles and time frames to a decaying rod of Cobalt-60 was strongly recommended per the determination of my oncologist and my neurologist. It's a very interesting practice that you should look up. I found it very interesting.
Since then, my condition has continued to improve. My interest in alcohol has waned down quite a lot, my desire to be more attentive to my relationships and my work have gone up tremendously, and my interests in maintaining my home has also drastically increased. My sciatica has significantly reduced, my energy level has gone up, and my appetite is 4 to 5 times what it was pre-surgery.
I'm much more interested in participating in.... well... my interests. My emotions are still present, but much more stable and well balanced.
Welcome to neurology.

Recovery from brain surgery
Posted 3 years agoSo, about 3 weeks ago, I had a golf ball sized meningioma removed from the right frontal lobe of my brain. Cosmetically, I'm healing fairly well, but the movement, compression, and malformation of the brain will take quite a while longer to get back into a position where normalcy can be relatively re-obtained. Cognitively, I'm proving over time and a great deal for the better. I'm more motivated, interested, curious, organized, and some of the manic ups and downs of my emotional and behavioural actions have begun to stabilize quite a lot. I had no idea this was even happening to me as I had no symptoms until my seizure. Things that I had for a while been taking for granted have been coming back into proper perspective and I'm really seeing a pleasant change in my considerations towards my friends, family, and loved ones. To those of you that had noticed some changes in my demeanor over the last couple of years, I'm very sorry for having had some very strange and odd behaviours and emotional ups and downs. To some respect, it was unfortunately out of my control in many regards and now I'm noticing a lot more positive and beneficial changes for my future and with my two beloved boyfriends.
I love you guys with my life and would do anything to keep a good positive future for all of us. Thank you for everything you've done so far and here's to a continued future of an even better life.
Much love for all of you wonderful people as well.
Hit me up some time here or on telegram if you want to chat a bit. I'm always down for good conversations and friends.

Brain Tumor
Posted 3 years agoI stayed the night with a very dear and loved friend a little over a week ago. It was about time I was able to go see him anyway, and he had an upcoming trip to visit friends out of state. I had a lovely time with him and took him to the airport the next day, wished him well, told him I loved him, and helped him get his stuff out to the car and checked into his flight.
He told me to go back to his place to get some more rest because I didn't sleep much the night before. To be fair, he was right. I was way more fixated on petting him to sleep and it was blissful.
However, the 45 minute drive back to his house was completely stricken from my memory. I had a seizure while driving and have almost no memory or the entire drive back to his place. The police extracted me from my vehicle, about a block from his house. The seizure I had either struck my memory or happened while I was trying to park. Either way, the tox screen came back negative for everything. A CT scan revealed a golf ball sized tumor on my right frontal lobe of my brain. This was Sunday morning. I had full major brain surgery to remove the tumor on Wednesday and I was discharged on Friday.
I feel no ill-effects from the surgery, either cognitive or functional. I don't think I've suffered other than some memory loss from the incident and now I need to pay close attention to my pharmacological treatments for potential epilepsy. I look like Frankenstein, but I feel pretty good.
Thank you to all of you who have me in your thoughts about this. I've never broken a bone, had a cavity, passed out, crashed my car, or anything like that. No, I just had some strange random brain tumor. Post surgical tests revealed no cancer, so that's a plus.
If anyone wants to see my war wounds, send me a message here or on Telegram. I actually find it kind of interesting.
