Goal for MFF! And for my health in general.
Posted 10 years agoI'll start off by saying that I am going to MFF! Gonna see a lot of awesome people there and hope to meet more.
I'm going to work on losing around 10-15 pounds before December and I've already begun the process.
My main method of weight loss will be from running. Up until the beginning of the year I wasn't much active since high school really. I keep my diet in check and still walk from time to time but needless to say I've seen the scale tip upward over the years. Around March I started to give running a shot but I couldn't get into it.
I always had an issue with my left leg around the shin and down around my ankle where I'd lose feeling after running for a short distance and it felt like my foot was a cement block that I was dragging around. It was very discouraging since I WANTED to do it. At first I thought that it was just the shock of being active again and that my body would adapt, it did not. I really gave up after a little more than a week because I wasn't getting any progress.
Fast forward to last week.
I felt that surge of 'what the hell' and decided I'd give things another go. I took things slower this time and started off by speed walking and upping the distance more than my normal walks. At first I was getting the odd deadness feel when I tried running short distances but I figured I'd just try until the inevitable happened. Oddly it subsided one night, and two nights later I went for a distance run of a little over a mile without any issues at all. I'm not sure why it's not happening this time but it's not a fluke. I went running last night, AND tonight because I've been feeling outstanding after I finish running. So far things are great.
I'm in pretty great shape enough as it is. I don't have any chest pains when I run, no discomfort in my legs at all but I am pacing myself with how long I run for so I don't injure myself or cause any long term damage.
So far things are looking good and I hope to reach my goal.

kdubbz who've I've known for a while is having some issues with his mother and medical coverage. Needless to say the situation isn't the best and I wanted to make this to spread the word for my buddy, his mother, and their entire family that have been affected by all of this. Even if you can't directly help spreading the word would probably help a lot and I'd be especially appreciative.

Posted 13 years agoSo yeah there were some morons who robbed a jewelry store in Riverside and two or three ran down the freeway and bailed out at my school. One got caught but they think one is still holed up so the whole campus is on lockdown. Same building I had class in earlier today :P
