Can anyone fix a broken NVME/M.2 SSD?
Posted 2 years agoDoes anyone have the ability, or know anyone... who can restore a broken NVME/M.2 SSD to working condition?
I lost a lot of personal data, and a lot of memories with it. :(
I don't expect it for free. I can offer art, as well as money once my finances improve.
The computer does not detect it as a boot option in the bios.
When it's inserted into a motherboard, it causes the splash screen to hang for a very long time before it goes back to the BIOS again.
I had it tested at best buy, and they said it does not show up on their caddy/enclosure device. I do not know if they used linux.
I ordered an enclosure from amazon to test it further this week.

SIGH OF RELIEF.
I realized that I moved those files from the old hard drive to the (now) dead one.....
So I ran a data recovery program on that OLD drive...
And now I have recovered the overwhelming majority of those precious memories. ;-;
Now it is "Acceptable losses."
I'm still pissed that I lost a year of art files and lost a good chunk of progress on my assorted projects... but it was the personal/precious/memories that I was really grieving over, and now that I have almost all of them back, I feel better. Just.... emotionally exhausted.
Now I can approach this with a more rational state of mind.

Posted 3 years agoEDIT: I should have updated this weeks ago. But my friend is now okay. She has escaped the abusive family, and is now currently living with a friend of mine, who I trust. :3 So, hooray! That means all information bellow is now outdated.
Okay. So here's the thing...
One of my best friends,
Daniruu, has just escaped a household that was extremely abusive, both emotionally and physically. The person she was living with has stifled her growth as an individual, keeping her co-dependent, cowed, and isolated. It's only recently, after a particularly heinous act of abuse, and the threat of cutting her off from ALL of her online friends, that she worked up the courage to gather up her stuff and leave that cruel home behind.
But the abuse has prevented her from growing as a person, and she lacks the skills needed to become independent like she must. The person she is currently sheltering with, KingofKOF, cannot continue to support her for long, as his lease will not allow anybody to visit for longer than 30 days, or he risks eviction. Then they will BOTH be homeless.
She can't go back home to that abusive family. There is nobody in that family who cares for her. Or rather, cares about her. So this is where you come in:
If you are in need of a roommate, and the living costs are fairly low, and there is reasonably gainful employment to be found, I humbly plead with you, my fanbase: Please give her shelter, and a new chance at life. Please contact her.

The best PERSPECTIVE Tutorials I've seen.
Posted 4 years agoI've been trying to hone my craft in some areas where I feel I'm somewhat lacking. In particular, PERSPECTIVE! That is, drawing backgrounds and environments.
There are some subtleties that are difficult to understand, but I found some videos that explain perspective VERY clearly and succinctly, without making anything overcomplicated.
I really think it's criminal how un-seen this guy's channel is, so if you like these, be sure to subscribe to him.
And of course, he has videos on how to draw other stuff as well, not just perspective.

Posted 4 years agoAn open letter to all those artists who I contacted out of the blue, spoke to for some time (maybe a few weeks, maybe even a year or more) and then just... stopped talking to...
If you still follow me, you probably know who you are. (Because I don't remember ;v;)
Anyway, if you've ever wondered why I haven't spoken to you in forever? Unless I blocked you, it probably wasn't because you offended me or drove me off.
In the past, I have often contacted artists with the intent of forging connections and "art friendships" as it were. But my "swing at every ball" approach has kind of overloaded my contact list, to the point where I can't even remember the names of artists I admired years ago.
Heck it's possible that I drove YOU off with my mopey self-hating dialogue. I'm SIGNIFICANTLY BETTER THAN I WAS in that regard, but... it's still a problem sometimes. 2020, while being one of the worst years in recent history, WAS a year where I sort of rekindled my artistic muse, to a degree. Many people have told me that my art has drastically improved this year. It's hard for me to see, but I kinda believe it.
At any rate, if any of you feel like I used you, or that I lost interest in you, or had no respect for you... That is probably not the case.
I just.... FORGET things. ;v; So sometimes I just need to be reminded that you exist. I hardly ever check my PMs.

Millions died. The country burned. Other countries burned. We all became prisoners. The economy tanked. Tyranny is in vogue. Innocents were killed by those who we thought were our protectors. We saw all the absolute worst aspects of humanity put on display for all to see.
But the orange shithead has been voted out. ONE GOOD THING happened. ;v;
That said...
Assuming this year will be better than 2020 (and that's a VERY low bar), here are my resolutions:
1: Lose 40 pounds.
2: Learn to animate, to a degree. (Nothing super ambitious, mostly animation loops)
3: Now that I've done extensive training and practice with writing... START MY FUCKING WEBCOMIC ONCE AND FOR ALL.
Let's hope this coming year is better!

I have a stalker.
A persistent one. And he has been psychotically obsessed with me and my art for a couple years now. He also appears to be romantically interested in me, the very notion of which fills me with loathing and revulsion, the likes of which I usually reserve for child molesters and Donald Trump.
It all started when he started roleplaying as one of my characters, Greta Groß, one of my old timey toon characters. WITHOUT my permission. I asked him to stop. I reported him to the FA staff. But no. He kept harassing me, and he kept harassing my friends, begging them for free art, offering them “cookies” in exchange. (the cookie was a .JPG of a cookie.)

He even BEGGED me to let him “do work for me” on some of my projects. Even though just one look at his art tells you that you would never want this person’s assistance.
Because of this disgusting person’s behavior, I have no intention of drawing my old toony “inkblot” style, EVER again. Not if it attracts loathsome imbeciles like this.

I was suspicious of him as he hung out in my streams, because I could not confirm it at the time. But no. He denied that he was this stalker. He lied constantly. He lied about it, and he even pretended to be trans to try and back up his claim.

Yeah. Now I know for certain that abandoning my old inkblot toon style was the right choice. I was right to do it, because it attracted this twisted maniac to me. I wish I had never even gotten the idea to make old timey toon characters. If I'd known then what I know now, I would never have even submitted art on FurAffinity at all. This is the reason I almost never post on FA anymore. And why I have been drifting away from furry art in general.
My inkblots. Are dead. Gone. I will never draw them again, under any circumstances whatsoever. And I am not likely to take any more furry commissions here either.

Yeah. Now I know for certain that abandoning my old inkblot toon style was the right choice. I was right to do it, because it attracted this twisted maniac to me. I wish I had never even gotten the idea to make old timey toon characters. If I'd known then what I know now, I would never have even submitted art on FurAffinity at all. This is the reason I almost never post on FA anymore. And why I have been drifting away from furry art in general.

Political scandals literally non-stop, mass shootings on a near daily basis, idiots eating Tide Pods, Stephen Hawking and Stan Lee died, Toys R Us closed for good, Logan Paul exploited a suicide victim, Fortnite ruined games for a generation, Game companies ruined them further, Net Neutrality was repealed, Tumblr banned all the porn, Trump is actively destroying the Earth... WILDSTAR WAS SHUT DOWN... <:'(
I won't go into the PERSONAL problems I've had to deal with lately.
How does that curse go? "May you live in interesting times?"
Well, hopefully things get better, and problems are solved sooner than later.
But it hasn't been entirely bad. My Twitter exploded with new followers recently, and I've made a few new interesting friends. I've also made quite a few leaps with my artistic skill, and there's even a new game out there for you Undertale fans. Some good regular games too. Vermintide 2 is awesome. I got to play Mario Odyssey, that was fun. I'm sure there MUST have been at least a FEW good events that happened in real life too, right? R... R-right?
... Oh well.
Either way, I'm grateful to all of my fans who have stuck with me throughout the years, and helped spread my art to so many people. ;v;

I have a stalker.
A persistent one. And he has been psychotically obsessed with me and my art for a couple years now. He also appears to be romantically interested in me, the very notion of which fills me with loathing and revulsion, the likes of which I usually reserve for child molesters and Donald Trump.
It all started when he started roleplaying as one of my characters, Greta Groß, one of my old timey toon characters. WITHOUT my permission. I asked him to stop. I reported him to the FA staff. But no. He kept harassing me, and he kept harassing my friends, begging them for free art, offering them “cookies” in exchange. (the cookie was a .JPG of a cookie.)

He sent me a package of “tetris” lamps. I am disgusted by the fact that they were a gift from him, so I’ve since sold them.
He even BEGGED me to let him “do work for me” on some of my projects. Even though just one look at his art tells you that you would never want this person’s assistance.
Because of this disgusting person’s behavior, I have no intention of drawing my old toony “inkblot” style, EVER again. Not if it attracts loathsome imbeciles like this.

I banned him in my Picarto stream when he was MegaPeacockMan. I banned him as Riannajones. And he is no doubt making a new account to harass me and my circle as we speak.
I was suspicious of him as he hung out in my streams, because I could not confirm it at the time. But no. He denied that he was this stalker. He lied constantly. He lied about it, and he even pretended to be trans to try and back up his claim.
Let me repeat that:
HE PRETENDED TO BE TRANSGENDER SO HE COULD STALK ME.

Wildstar (the MMO) is shutting down... :( How to help
Posted 7 years agoI'm sure most of you don't have any attachment to the MMORPG called "Wildstar." So here's a short explanation:
Wildstar was one of the many MMOs that were created to compete with World of Warcraft in an attempt to get a slice of what they believed was a limitless supply of cash.
Unlike most MMOs though, Wildstar was science-fantasy, as opposed to being based around swords and sorcery, like nearly all of its contemporaries. And also unlike most other MMOs, it was deliberately irreverent and humorous in its take on space adventures. A space war between two factions. The Exiles (drunken rebels) and the Dominion(stick-up-ass empire). I was Dominion. It also had one of the deepest and most customizable player housing systems ever created. There's truly nothing like it today. This was like, the EXACT sort of thing I liked.
But sadly, the game's terrible management and a series of bad decisions led to this game losing most of its audience. Nobody blamed the setting, the characters, the story, or the graphics or gameplay. But it was geared almost exclusively to hardcore players, which alienated the incomparably larger casual player base. And now, 4 years after its release, the studio behind the game is shutting down... and so is the game.
There are people working to keep the game alive, and keep the community alive, even if the official game itself closes down. If you’re interested in helping out, please send me a PM and I’ll give more information. It will be copy-pasted information, so please bear that in mind.

STATUS: Where I am and how I'm doing...
Posted 7 years agoI haven't exactly been active lately. So I think you guys deserve a bit of an explanation.
Where are you?
I've been online. I just... haven't been posting a lot of stuff publicly. Mostly I've been posting on my Patreon(link below) and just... reading. Watching analysis videos on youtube and writing down ideas in my various notebooks as they come.
I also stream regularly on Picarto during the evening, and that's where I take most of my commissions. Feel free to +follow me there if you have an account: https://picarto.tv/naughtyjester
I also recommend getting the Picarto addons for Firefox/Chrome. They'll alert you when someone you +follow is streaming. Less likely to miss streams that way.
How come you never post anything anymore?
Several reasons. First and foremost being that I don't think my work is all that desired by people in general. When I post, it seldom seems to get any recognition, and nothing I do ever seems to really "resonate" with people. I see my peers rocketing to popularity and leaving me in their exhaust, while I struggle to get even the most cursory of recognition for my efforts. My follower count has not gone up in any meaningful way in months. It's like nothing I make gets noticed, so I don't feel like trying. That, and... well... I don't feel welcome.
Every time I try to "fit in" or add my voice to anything, through art or text, I always end up shoving my foot in my mouth and swallowing all my blood-soaked teeth. I don't know if it's a simple lack of charisma/social grace or an actual mental disorder, but I don't do well. Big-name artists I admire are commissioning friends of mine. Some other big-name artists (sometimes the same ones) have blacklisted/ignored me. And the ones I care about the most simply don't have time for me. I feel... unwelcome and unwanted at the worst of times. And at the best of times, I feel like a stepping stone. I help others reach new heights while I remain exactly where I am, unnoticed, never accomplishing anything on my own. And the worst part is, I know that I'm to blame for absolutely every bad thing that has ever happened to me. So I can't even say that it's others' fault. I hate it.
Basically it feels like.... the world has moved on and rightfully thrown me away to languish in obscurity, forgotten. This is the main reason I never make my OWN erotic/pornographic art anymore, outside of commissions. Because I simply don't feel desirable. And I just... can't draw sexy porn of my own characters when I, the artist, feel worthless. I just can't.
I feel like much of the work I do doesn't deserve to be posted. If you've followed me for a while, you'd know that I've been working on a sci-fi comic project for a while now, and that it's been a slow-going thing. Well I haven't been posting anything from it lately because I don't feel like it's fair to keep posting "ideas and previews" without actually having anything to show for it, like an actual comic. It's not fair to the readers, and it's becoming like a "Duke Nukem Forever" situation. Hyping and hyping until people are sick of hearing about it.
Another reason I haven't been posting is because of a certain insane stalker who will not fucking leave me alone, and now is proclaiming his "undying love" for me, making me feel unsafe online. NOTHING I do seems to sway this psychopath, and posting art only seems to encourage him. That also discourages me from posting, and it's why I will not be posting any of my "inkblot" characters for the forseeable future.
Are you okay?
No, not really.
In terms of my "living situation..." That is, my financial/home/job situation, there doesn't seem to be any problem right now. So no worries there.
But health-wise, I'm not doing so well. No diseases or life-threatening conditions that I know of, but my depression and isolation is not conducive to good health. I'm overweight and unhealthy, and can't even remember the last time I laughed at anything. I take a Naproxen (pain killer) just so I can sleep. That, combined with certain dramatic events both online and in real life, doesn't make me feel good.
Any way I can help?
I don't think so. I feel like all I can do is weather the storm until things somehow get better or I can find a way out... though I don't see any way out right now.
Do you have any projects lined up?
As always, I'm working on my damn sci-fi story. But as I said, I don't think I should post anything about it until I can actually start it. So, no news there.
As for other projects... nothing comes to mind. It's POSSIBLE that I might have a part-time job as a character designer for a certain company in the future, but I have no concrete details to share on the situation, and I can't say anything for certain.
Either way, most of the work I post is on my Patreon, link below, and even though there seems to be nothing but dark clouds as far as the eye can see, I am still trying to improve my artistic skills in one way or another. Mostly I'm just trying to keep myself busy and keep my artistic skills from atrophying until I actually do feel like my....... young self again. When I was still worthwhile.
So... yeah. That's my current "status report" for those of you who have been curious about my whereabouts.
And now I'm going to go take a handful of vitamins. I heard Vitamin D helps with depression and health, so... it should help me feel better, right? :(
